My Wife and I just purchased our second vehicle from Garber in the past nine months. Both experiences were nothing short of fantastic. In September 2013, I strolled into the used car building at Garber looking to sell my 2008 Honda Ridgeline and hopefully start searching for a 2011 Infiniti G37x. I was introduced to Jason Sgarzi, the used car director. Jason was interested in my Honda and was also interested in locating an Infiniti for me. I laid out a very specific list of accessories and colors that I wanted. Literally, Jason and I spoke every other day(sometimes everyday) as he updated me how the search was going and shared Infinitis he thought might fit my guidelines. Sure enough, six weeks later, Jason found the PERFECT Infiniti that was better than my expectations. By better, I mean way beyond what I expected at a price below what I was seeing EVERYWHERE else within 500 miles of Rochester. I was literally calling dealerships as far as Maryland trying to locate this vehicle before I began working with Jason. Jason Sgarzi is one of the most moral, ethical and most professional people I have ever worked with. When I say this I dont just mean in the car business... I mean in any profession. Jasons concern had nothing to do with selling me a product; it had everything to do with educating me on resale values, current market, financing options and simply making sure I was getting what I really wanted. Through the entire process he encouraged me to do my own research and look at any options available to me with other dealerships. In the end, It was the most positive and satisfying experience Ive had buying anything in my whole life. I just cant say enough positive things about working with Jason Sgarzi. Through Jason I met Edgar Colon-Quinones, a salespersons with Garber, who handled the delivery of my first vehicle and much of the sale of our second vehicle. Edgar is simply a great person. He quite simply wants to make sure people get what they want when they work with him. He is a people person that was absolutely fantastic to work with and never pressured us in any way, shape, or form. We drove a bunch of vehicles with Edgar and his knowledge of various, makes, models, and accessories was staggering. I have no idea how he is able to keep that many different vehicles with so many different trim levels and accessories straight. Edgar made us feel like we were the only people on the lot every time we were there. My wife was nine months pregnant during our second vehicle purchase and Edgars level of detail and caring was awesome. He made sure the vehicle was right at the front door with the AC on (she never had to walk the lot once), there was always a water bottle waiting for her, and he asked her repeatedly if she needed anything. Edgars kindness and attitude were refreshing in an industry where you meet a lot of "characters" that simply want to sell you a car and push you out the door. Since the sale of both vehicles, Edgar has checked on our satisfaction several times and assisted immediately with any post sale questions I have had. Last but not least, is Garth Anderson, the Finance Manager. Garth again displayed the traits Id expect of someone working at this dealership. His honesty, candor, and assistance was second to none. Garth shopped with local banks and found us an interest rate on both vehicles that allowed us to afford a vehicle that was normally a bit out of our price range. Without Garth we could have never bought our used Honda Pilot. His patience with all our questions and attention to detail was above and beyond. I realize this is a long review, but I truly cant say enough about Jason Sgarzi and his team at the used car portion of Garber Honda. Its refreshing to work with people that really cared about our wants and respected our decisions and opinions. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Garber team. - Jay France, Greece, NY

My wife and I desperately needed a second car but had a very tight budget. After months of research, we decided to test drive a few cars and speak to the representatives of each company to see what they could offer us. We started at Garber Honda and after test driving the 2014 Accord EX-L and the 2013 Civic EX-L, we decided that the Accord was what we wanted. Thomas worked very hard, spending several hours with my wife and I trying to convince us that Garber could make our budget work. Being the kind of person who likes to do his research and try all options before making a decision, I was very firm on leaving that day without purchasing a vehicle so that I could explore my other options in-person (even though after a month of online research led me to believe that the Accord was the vehicle I was most likely to purchase...especially after driving it as well). I am simply of the mentality that "you never know." Therefore, I was adament about checking out other dealers before making my decision. That said, I let Thomas work his magic (coming back with deal after deal on several different cars and options) for hours before he finally said, "what do we have to do to make you drive that car home today?" I signed a piece of paper saying that there was no way he could make me do that. At that point, I thought I had won the battle (despite several enticing offers)...Im just not the type to make a purchase on the first round. Thomas introduced my wife and I to a manager and asked us one more time if he could pull a miracle, would we take the offer...and he gave us a ridiculous offer. He warned us that it was likely that the offer would be declined by the site manager but figured it couldnt hurt to find out exactly what would change our minds and shoot for it. I thought for a while and realized that with all of the background information that I brought with me, I could not get a better deal anywhere else. But there was still the part of me that wanted to see if maybe I would like driving another car better. But I realized that the Accord was near perfect all-around and that I loved the car. So finally it had seemed that Thomas had one-upped me. I signed the paper saying if he could pull that ridiculous deal, I would take it. I was confident that he couldnt since it was so much lower than what we started with. After speaking with the head site manager, he congratulated us and let us know that the car was ours. I have to say that Thomas and his team at Garber are excellent sales reps with great customer service. They work very hard to get you what you want so that they can get what they want (a sale). They all agreed that I was one of the most difficult people (they probably meant the most stubborn jerk, haha) that they had ever dealt with. Surprisingly, I asked a lot of questions that they had never gotten before too. But in the end, they proved that they are customer oriented and are willing to work with your needs to make the sale. So congratulations to the Garber Honda team for the excellent service and ability to make a challenging sale. When I signed the paper I wrote "only because Thomas was awesome," and I meant it. Highly recommended!

I went into Garber on 7/20 for and appraisal on my 2006 Acura TSX with 84xxx miles. I was told my transmission was blowing up among other issues. I was interested in a 2016 Civic, and although I wasnt interested in buying that day (had to work at 4 pm) I at least wanted to get a few quick numbers to see what I would be looking at. Boy was that dumb, a young girl, going to a dealership on her own I made a mistake. Dealing with Isaac Elliott seemed nice at first, he was friendly but overly pushy and kept mentioning getting me into a vehicle today. He gave me a paper to sign, to which I misunderstood that was so he could call my insurance and get me a quote, which instead he canceled coverage on my vehicle and began coverage on the Civic. I continued to ask for numbers but he said that was up to his business manager. After sitting in the waiting area for hours I finally get in the office with Andy P to talk about the finance part of the car. It was about 2-2:30 at this point and I was in a hurry to get to work. He was all smiles and said congratulations we got you approved. He mentioned my payments would be 4xx a month. At this point I got anxious, nauseous and felt horrible. That payment was 150 dollars more than what I was paying on my used car. I expected it to be high but not this bad. I sat there, cried a bit and thought over the numbers in my head. I would be able to pay it, albeit a mere 20 dollars left over in my check, but I would be able to pay it. In this tiny office he pushed the papers in front of me and I felt a knot in my gut. Car buying shouldnt make you sick. I asked him if this was the best deal he could do and of course he said yes. Im an idiot. I signed the papers, left in the knick of time to get to work but left my whole folder of paperwork at the dealership. I came back the next morning and asked for my paperwork but was told by Isaac that he would mail it. Needless to say I never got it via mail, nor a statement from American Honda about my payment due. Finally I call the finance company and they mention my payment would be 5xx a month. I flipped, how did my payment go up a whole 100 dollars? I call Garber and get to talk to Andy P who I originally signed the deal with. He apologized and offered to pay the 100 dollar difference for the 6 month until I could refinance. Even so, if I refinanced my payments wouldnt even be to the original 4xx a month we agreed on. I asked for the papers where I signed that I would pay 5xx a month and they were emailed to me, the quality so bad I couldnt read them, I left messages for Brian to call me back but to no avail. Every time you try to talk to a manager it goes to voicemail. Tell me, why I would sign a paper that said 5xx a month, when I was verbally told 4xx a month. MAYBE Im naïve for doing so, but now Im going to be out of a car since I cant afford this one, and my used car was auctioned off. On top of the deficiency of a voluntary repo of this vehicle. I come out owing 8-10 grand and have no car. Oh yeah, my credit will be ruined for the next 7 years. Fantastic. Best car buying experience ever.
