I have been here for a contact lens fit and eye test. I saw Dr Balsamo and he hardly spoke to me during the test and did not explain anything. The test cost me $79. After leaving the store I noticed my prescription did not include my astigmatism measurement and I rang the store to query it. Dr Balsamo came on the phone and was extremely rude and treat me like I was being a know-it-all for having some knowledge. He told me to get a second opinion but when I said did he mean in his store with another doctor he answered point blank "NO". He was so rude and unhelpful and I am now stuck with the wrong prescription and am out of pocket. I complained to their Head Office and spoke to Bruce Harris who was extremely nice and helpful, and he did make me feel better but no re-test or refund was offered. I have cancelled my lens order with the store and will never step foot in one of their shops again. It is a shame because the rest of the staff were really nice. I feel like I was given an unexplained, rushed test and told to just take what I was given, no refunds, no advice, no explanations. I do not recommend this store.

Shopping for my first pair of glasses was a BREEZE with Wize Eyes. I will surely recommend them to anyone and everyone looking for a new pair. Dina was my sales rep in June of 2012 & she was FANTASTIC! She was thorough and wanted to be sure I got a pair that looked good and was in my price range - shes not the type to tell you something looks good when it doesnt. Their prices are something Ive been bragging about nonstop. Wize Eyes of New Hyde Park is now my go-to place to purchase glasses. I walked in off the street and was helped within 2 minuets, and was able to pick up my glasses the next day! Amazing service, great products I will be back for ALL my eye wear needs- prescription or not. Thanks to Dina who was definitely the highlight of my visit.

Bait and Switch. They advertise $40.40 all over the place. I cant agree more with the last review. The frames are horrible, old fashion and poorly made. In addition, I bought an extended warranty. When the lenses got scratched, I took them back and requested they be replaced under the scratch warranty. I paid extra for this because my lenses were over $175.00, and the person behind the counter said it was a great deal. Bottom line is, they said " sorry those lenses are not covered" I asked why and they said they are too expensive. What? Dont be fooled by their low price ads. They should be investigated by the state, county and federal government. Obviously, I will never go back. Just a heads up.

I have been at Wize Eyes since the year they opened up as a kid living in the neighboorhood. The staff has always been exceptional wheather it was for assistance with a repair or choosing the correct frames to fit your face. On one occasion in May of 2011 I had came down with a case of the dreaded pink eye and couldnt find my glasses being that I usually wear my contacts. Due to the fact I had recently had an exam they were able to make me lenses in a matter of minutes for the frams I had chosen!! Really helped me out in a jam!! Always have my conversations with Kim on the phone she is the greatest!! I highly recommend Wize Eyes to anyone who wears glasses or contacts!!

I have to say what a wonderful experience it was to deal with Anthony at Wize Eyes. Im visiting my mother from Florida and was playing with my son and broke my glasses. My mother took me to Wize Eyes where shes been getting her glasses for 20 years. I walked in and Anthony greeted us (he already knew my mother). I told him my situation and he told me he would be able to make me glasses the same day. He set me up with Shivani who was wonderful and helped me pick out a really nice pair of glasses that I love. Anthony kept his word and my glasses were done an hour later. How wonderful and thankful I was. Thanks again Anthony.

I absolutely love the WizeEyes experiance!! I have been to the NHP store several times and recommended the place to both family and friends on several occasions. I have never seen such customer service like that which Kim the manager provides. She is so friendly but above all she is honest, and would never send someone out the door in frames that didnt look absolutely fabulous. Everyone was so friendly and the experiance was more than enjoyable. NHP Wize Eyes is a real gem and Kim holds the diamonds all together! Hope that the store is blessed with nothing but success! Ive just moved in the area and to walk into Wize Eyes was great. I was gardening and thought I put my glasses in my pocket. Well surprise, I ended up stepping on them and thought they were gone (broke). I walked into Wize Eyes and showed them my glasses. The lady was very nice and ask Anthony to take a look at them, and he told me he would try to fix them, but made no guarantee, I expected they were done. Well a few minutes later Anthony comes out with my glasses, and I have to say they looked and felt good. I couldnt believe it. He didnt have to fix them. What a stand-up guy.

Dr. Balsamo was great. He was very knowledgeable, helpful, and gave honest advise. He quickly examined my eyes as I rushed in from NJ because of the bad weather. I came in 30 mins before closing, and they squeezed me in for the appt, got me my prescription, samples of the daily wears and got me paired up with regular contact lenses (ACUVUE brand - not avail at Costco) so FAST without making me feel rushed at ALL. Great place, will definitely order more lenses with them! P.S. The eye exam was $79, and they gave me a $20 off coupon cheaper than places in NJ even with the tolls.

Horrible experience. I called the day before to make sure they accepted my insurance so I could get an exam for contacts. I was informed they covered the exam but not contacts which was fine. I got there and the lady started I had a $40 contact fitting fee and then was told each contact box cost $65 which I only pay $50 each at Costco. I later then received a call from the same person who helped me stating she read my policy wrong and she didnt charge me enough. I ended up spend $200 mind you I have vision insurance. Will be sure to not return.

My wife my daughter and I came to this place to fix a broken frame and also to shop for a new pair of glass for me my wife and my daughter. The place have a nice selection of glasses, location is easy with plenty of parking. The prices are reasonable. The only reason they get 3 stars is that the customer service is very poor. from the greeting lady to sales people. very impolite they didnt let us try some frame and "pushed us away" to take care of other customers. We will go to WizeEyes. just not at this location.
