CarHop Auto Sales & Finance is a used car dealer located in Lakewood, Washington. The organization primarily deals with customers who have poor credit, offering them vehicles at various price points. The business has garnered a mix of reviews, which we will delve into for a comprehensive understanding of its operations.
The quality of service appears to be a significant concern among customers. Several reviews mention that the staff at CarHop Auto Sales & Finance are not as helpful as they claim to be. Customers have reported feeling harassed and humiliated during phone conversations with the company's representatives.
The company is criticized for its lack of responsiveness, especially when it comes to warranty claims. Customers have found it difficult to get in touch with the warranty department, and even when they do, the responses are often unsatisfactory.
Customers have raised concerns about the pricing of the vehicles, stating that the cars are overpriced. For example, a Ford Taurus, which is not worth more than $2000, is being sold for around $10,000.
Another point of contention is the high-interest rates. The company charges an interest rate of 27%, which customers find to be exorbitant.
The quality of the vehicles sold is a recurring issue in the reviews. Customers have reported multiple mechanical problems shortly after purchase, including issues with the transmission, engine, and other essential parts.
The warranty department is described as "worthless" by customers. Even when issues that should be covered under warranty arise, the department often responds with "Not covered in the warranty."
The staff's professionalism is questioned in several reviews. Customers have reported feeling belittled and harassed during interactions, both in-person and over the phone.
There is a lack of transparency when it comes to the condition of the vehicles. Customers have reported that they were not made aware of existing issues with the cars they purchased.

While CarHop Auto Sales & Finance aims to serve a niche market of customers with poor credit, the numerous negative reviews indicate that there is room for significant improvement in various aspects of the business, from customer service to product quality.

I wish I could score this place with a 0. To start off with I came here for the same reason most come here, poor credit. I got my first vehicle which was a 2003 Ford Taurus, and at the test drive it started to smoke when we turned it on!! Charles said this was the only vehicle I qualified for and that they would fix whatever issue it had. I was desperate for a car and I took it. He hooked me up with a shop to take a look at the vehicle and replace whatever needed to be fixed. So that night I take the car home and I go to get on the highway and the vehicle wont go over 40 miles an hour! Major issues. So we get it into the shop, in a period of three weeks it had three new transmissions put into the vehicle and still had the same issue and I still couldnt get on the highway. So I take the car back and I speak with Tina. I told her I want all of my money back or a new car. So she showed me a few more vehicles, the first was a Ford Explorer and it was in decent shape. Took it for a test drive and then wanted to check out other options. She then showed us two of the exact same dodge neons. The first one had water filling the back seat floor board. When we took the second one out for a test drive, within seconds on turning onto south Tacoma way, HOT water started shooting from the passenger seat floorboard. Obviously those were a no go. We told Tina what happened and she made a snide remark of "well maybe we should have you guys come out and test drive all our cars". Finally she showed us a really old Saturn, the interior was pretty damaged and when we popped the hood and started it the entire engine shifted and was shaking, and they still wanted +10,000$ for that POS!!! We settled on the ford. Fast forward almost two years and here I am with the explorer. I have been in between jobs here and there, but not too far apart, so obviously there were some late payments. Each time they would shut off my ignition and call me multiple times a day as well as the contacts I listed when signing the contract for the vehicle. I have recently hit some hard times and have to relinquish my car. I called them up yesterday and spoke with Libby. This phone call was borderline harassment. Throughout the conversation she consistently put me down. She asked questions that werent any of her business. When you go to make a phone call to these people they get a kick out of embarrassing you and humiliating you. They want you to feel worthless. For ANYONE ever considering buying a car from car hop please reconsider. Please think long and hard on it!! Keep in mind the vehicle they give you they bought from auction and fixed it up enough for you to not notice the damages until it is way too late. ALL of their vehicles start at 10,000$ plus 27% interest. Keep that in mind! Youll get a better deal on craigslist!

Ann Toves is right! There is NO WAY this place should have anything above a 2 star review for this lemon dealers! I have had nothing but problems with the car I got from these lemon sellers. They take advantage of people who are in bad situations with their credit and charge your THOUSANDS more for the lemons they sell you. My Ford Taurus isnt even worth $2000 but somehow they think they can charge about $10,000 for it??? Yup, they got me and anyone else who will deal with these scam artist. The only thing these people will help you do is file bankruptcy faster. They have no intentions of trying to help you in anyway they say, help build credit, well sell you a car that can get you to and from work, and blah blah blah.... I bought a 2002 Ford Taurus back in Dec. Since I have had the car the transmission went out, huge oil leaks from the engine, tie rods snipped, anti freeze leak, horn does not work anymore, air bag sensor light is on and Im sure that doesnt work also, water leak from the drive side windshield, and water leak in the trunk. So in just 6 months, there is about $5,000 worth of work that needs to be done. Their warranty department is worthless. You will take your car into one of their shops just so the warranty department will just reply to anything, "Not covered in the warranty, Thanks" When the work that needs to be done is covered under the warranty, if they would have spent more time reading the warranty then sending not covered replies maybe I would have given a better review of CarHop. If you ever try to get in touch with the warranty department, your calls will get transferred to one of the CarHop dealers. For all the problems I have had with this piece of crap car, I have even been told from the district manager that they will cover all the work that needs to be done and yet, another lie!!! Its been over 5 months and nothing has been taken cover of except the transmission... THANKS CARHOP, for getting me into a lemon! Instead of helping my credit, now I have to file for bankruptcy

Worst experience EVER! I was accepted thru car hop and traded a 96 Camry for a 02 windstar. Drove it off with the understanding that 1 of the tires was going to be replaced due to a bubble in the side wall of the tire. The tire was being ordered and Id get a phonecall when it came in I was fine with that.Within a week ABS LIGHTS (2 lights) came on 3 days after that engine light came on. Went to autozone to get the codes read and over 15 codes came up. Within 3 weeks of having this vehicle transmission starts going out and vehicle goes down. Now Im being told to drop it off wait a week for even a approval for a mechanic to look at it, then wait for car hop to approve the service, then wait for them to "order" parts, then wait for them to get the work done. All the while you are still required to make payment and with hold your part of the contract. While they go over their CARHOP "program" they make sure you hear them tell you they will not sell you a lemon. Yet "Sean" admitted that he understood where I was coming from. That "Situations" like mine happen. And he too experienced the lemon experience within the first 3 months of him owning a vehicle from his place of employment. And didnt feel that it was wrong for him to be doing this to others. I would advice EVERYONE to run away from these scam artists.

Worst place ever in Washington State to buy a car..they will promise to give you a reliable car and its all a bunch of lies. The 1St car they gave to us was a 2003-Mini Dodge Caravan. On the 2ND day of having our reliable car the engine light came on. So we go back to the dealership and they put us into another "RELIABLE CAR" a 2001-Dodge Van. Not even a week of having it and the engine starts to act up, and the inside lights plus the heater all stop working and you know living here in Wa it gets really cold at night. Back to the dealrship and they send us to their mechanic. He orders the parts/engine and tells us it will take about a week to get it done. I ask for a loaner while a car that Im making payments on is being worked on and they tell me sorry theres nothing they can do. REALLY! I call the finance company and they tell me that its all up to the dealership. My husband and I are just livid with them. We cant afford to be out of work for a week because of no car. My husband goes in and ask for the money back and they said, No! I was told if I bring the car back I will not get my money back and they will keep taking money out of our accounts for a car that we only had for 2weeks. SHAME ON YOU CARHOP! SHAME ON YOU FOR SCAMING INNOCENT &HONEST WORKING FAMILYS!!
