I was in town from Fl for a few days and decided to have my dog BATHED... not groomed just bathed...he had black dirt in his beard and on his feet and I wanted him cleaned good before heading bk to FL...I am quite capable of bathing him but decided it would be nice to have someone else do it for me.. I go to the Petco in chester va... was told would be about and hour and half... 45 minutes later they called to tell me he was done, i thought wow that was quick... so I go to pick him up as I am getting ready to head bk to FL... to my dismay after I get bk to room to inspect him (which I shouldnt have had to do to start) i notice black stuff still in his beard and on his feet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what in the world>?????????????? did i mentioned I paid over $30 for a BATH.... so i called bk to speak to manager Rachel hoping she would feel my pain and offer me my money back since i was leaving to drive back to FL... to my utter disgust she said that the groomer had done what she was supposed to do but if i could bring him back they would bath him again... i said for the 3rd time I am leaving for FL i have no time for ANOTHER BATH.. it should have been done right to start... after a few words she still had nothing to offer me... wow.. what a disappointment..., watch it yall if you desire a clean dog....

Was asked not to return after my 2 year old goldendoodle, who has gone their since he was brought home, who was trained there, was "incessantly barking". Dont worry - we have now talked to our dog and made sure he knows that he is NOT suppose to bark. Was told that he would do better at a salon that was not as busy. So being busy is apparently a bad thing for this company. Also there is a pretty big difference between "you should take him somewhere less busy because it would be better for him" and "he is no longer welcome here". This also after while in their care he was able to not only get a hold of a pumice stone but chew it to the point where they were concerned for his health. Not very comforting that there was a lot of attention being paid. Additionally, after having him for 5 hours, he was 3/4 of the way groomed and the store refused to finish grooming him. Hundreds of dollars spent in this store for my 2 dogs and cat and this is the way we were treated after years or patronage. Kind of the equivalent to a daycare blaming a toddler for crying and eating a crayon. Sucks to be so busy that they cant take care of their customers. At least they will have one less now - maybe that Ill help them pay attention to the ones that continue to come there. Pretty disappointing.

Me and my human mom just had an awesome experience at this store. She took me there to get my nails clipped not knowing that she would need my rabies vaccine paperwork. She is new to dog ownership as I am only 4 months old. This nice human named Jamie called one of their competitors and got the required paperwork so that I could get my nails done. Yippee! Jamie then helped my human mom pick out a new collar and even sized it on me. I also gave lots of puppy hugs and kisses to another nice human that worked there named Breanna. My human mom does not like wet puppy kisses. Well anyway, thanks again Jamie and Breanna for a great first experience at your store. See you again soon, Oliver. PS. I dont think that I should ride in cars because I threw up when we were ALMOST home

I took my dogs here today for a haircut. I have two standard poodles. One is cut the modified continental and the other with puppy cut with shaved ears. Nikki M did such a great job on the continental. The shirt area is just perfect, i love how it was rounded and not just cut straight down. My dogs boots were are so fluffy and perfect puffs, even the tail is a perfect puff, too. Thank you Nikki. Lottie did great with my other dog too. She made my dogs top knot look like the perfect flat top. Ladies thank you from the bottom my heart. If i lived closer we would be regulars, but maybe a 4 hour drive will not be so bad. Just kidding.

I have been to this store a few times since the location is convenient. Each time I have been there I have been disappointed. The selection is as good as any other Petco or Petsmart but the service is incredibly poor. The employees I have interacted with are very unfriendly (so much for southern hospitality) and border on rude during checkout. I have had such an unpleasant experience that I now drive an additional 20 minutes to go to the next closest pet supply store.

They have a strong perfume smell in the front (warning for people who get migraines easily like me) so I hold my breath... But people here are very helpful and nice. Its a smaller store, so just a heads up!

I always enjoy going to Petco. Their animals always look well cared for. We purchased a guinea pig which has a 30 day vet warranty on her. Also can get items you cant get at petsmart.
