Ive been to the store once, but this review is about the races organized by them. The organization of the Celtic Solstice is first class and has a wonderful festive atmosphere. Its a real premium race experience. The only gripe that I want to air is the "awards". The Solstice has age group awards in increments of 1, gives you a great chance of winning as youre only up against people of your exact age and gender! In the 2013 race I won my age group so battled the 35 or so miles the next week to the store to collect my prize. It was a $2 Christmas ornament, guess I should have called ahead first. On April 27th 2014 I ran the Mulligan Metric Half Marathon and won the race, 1st overall out of 121 runners who all paid $35 to enter. We were told prizes would be mailed to us later. On June 18th I received my prize which was printed out postcard confirming I was 1st place mens. I checked to see if anything else was in the envelope like a store gift voucher for $5, $2 or whatever, but no that was it, a postcard. I can honest say I dont run prizes or awards, I do it for fun, but if you are going to claim you give awards at least make them meaningful or dont do it at all. I would rather be told there is nothing to be won apart from the glory of the win itself. Dont waste your time and mine with such nonsense.

A friend had recommended another store, but I went here because they had dropped some discount cards at my gym. I should have stuck with the recommendation. I went in when the store was really quiet, and was helped promptly. The young lady helping me brought me an updated version of my old shoe to try on, and checked to make sure it fit. I didnt get any other suggestions for shoes I might like, even after specifically asking. It seemed like helping me was very tedious and dull for her, especially since I interrupted her hanging out and playing on her phone. I decided to go with the shoe, and had to place an order for a certain color in the correct size (they had it in stock in a different size). Went to pick it up, and it was the wrong color. They said that the color I ordered isnt made anymore, and suggested trying on different shoes instead. Such a waste of time. Ill be taking my business elsewhere.

Ive been searching for a good replacement to my Asics Gel Kayano 17s for the past few years. Unfortunately, the newer Gel Kayanos have different fitments to the 17s, so I wasnt sure what size I needed. I came in looking to try out the updated Gel Kayano models, but after trying on their selection was recommended a pair of Brooks in a wider size. Im glad they recommended the wider sized Brooks because these shoes are far more comfortable than how I used to wear my running shoes. Normally, I try shoes on at a brick and mortar, and then buy online due to the lower prices. However, I was so impressed by their customer service that I purchased the shoes at their store. Im glad I did, and I plan on going back to them once the Brooks wear down.

I was very disappointed in the quality of service at this store. I came in as a novice runner and was made to feel like I didnt belong there at all. No one offered to help me, I had to find one of the many employees lounging on the couch to ask for assistance. When I didnt care for one of the shoes brought to me the sales girl rolled her eyes at me. When I walk into a store planning on dropping $100+ dollars for shoes, I expect some level of customer service, even if I havent ever run a marathon.

I needed a specific type of running shoe (I have high arches) and realized that Foot Locker or the shoe stores around White Marsh would not suffice. Most kids working there have no idea about shoes. So I drove to this store after finding them on Google. Great service - the lady knew exactly what I was looking for and was extremely knowledgeable about the shoes. They even had a treadmill to try the shoes out on & a cute dog walking around the store.

In need of new trail shoes for my work in rural Africa, I stopped by Falls Road late on a Saturday. The staff was knowledgeable and perfectly friendly. While they did not carry the brand I was looking for, they showed me a sensible alternative, made certain of the fit, and extended the very generous recently-ended sale price. To me this experience was a vivid reminder of the value our community merchants provide. Many thanks!

I am an avid long distance runner and there is something to be said about getting your equipment from a store that employs runners. If you go to foot locker, sure you might get your shoes $10 cheaper - but the kid that will sell them to you will have absolutely no idea about what your feet need. Invest the extra $10, your feet will thank you at mile 26.2!
