I recently visited Towson Bootery, the owner showed me this review below from a dissatisfied customer for a shoe dying issue.. He was distressed that any of his customers of Towson Bootery would be unhappy. I would like to tell his side of the story to set the record straight. I know the owner of Towson Bootery, he works very hard to provide the very best in old fashion customer service. In this instance from the review below a customer came into the store wanting shoes died, the owner explained that when shoes are dyed that there is the possibility that the dye could slightly bleed a small amount to the edge of the sole & or heel. This person who wrote review below was not the original person who dropped the shoes off to be dyed Unfortunately when dyed these shoes ended up with a small amount of residue from the dye bleed to the edge of the sole & heel which would not rub off on hands and would have to be removed with a special cleaner, which could easily be done by the store. The owner told the customer he would remove the residue, he tried to tell the customer he would work with this customer but they huffed out of the store Then this man came back to the store 1/2 hour that day and immediately upon entering the store became irate and started swearing loudly in the store with children present, hence he had to be asked to leave. To make a long story short, this customer could have had the issue resolved by the owner, instead he wanted to start a fight The owner of Towson Bootery, is a gentleman who takes customer service and satisfaction very serious. he had the same customers who have shopped his store for years. This store not only provides the very best in personal customer service, but they always give their customer person attention. If you are looking for quality shoes for yourself or your children and in need of specialized repairs, come to Towson Bootery, an old fashioned shoe store with service.

Horrible! Do I have to give a star? My daughter is in a wedding. We took her shoes there to have them dyed. My first visit, the guy was almost rude. He refused to dye the shoes until ALL of the bridesmaids shoes were there. I explained that they did not have to be exactly the same color and that one bridesmaid had already dropped hers off and picked them up! He still insisted on speaking with the bride before starting the work. He had two other pairs there, had not touched them, and had not told the girls he was waiting. When I dropped my daughters off, I paid for hers and one other pair. When he called the other girl to say hers were ready, he told her she owed $20 which I had already paid! He never even called ME to say that my daughters were ready. I dont know all of the girls in this wedding as I explained to the woman there more than once! I picked the shoes up, only to find that my daughters are still wet and turned her feet blue when she tried them on. I hate to see what they will do to her gown when she wears them! The other girl got home to find that she had two different sized shoes in her box! When she called to complain, he argued with her and said that was impossible. Low and behold, he checked the box he had and found the matching pair of mismatched shoes! When she picked up and paid for the matching set for another bridesmaid, she expressed her displeasure. He refused to take any responsibility for his error. She had a 45 minute drive to his shop to straighten this out. When she got in the car, she found dark splotches all over the shoes and they too were wet! Her fiancée took them back into the store, and he refused to refund her money. The wedding is in a few days. This is the worst service. I was in there over the weekend and could not believe how crowded this store was. I will NEVER go back in there for anything. He might sell good quality, but his dye services are horrible.

I purchased Kenneth Cole shoes for my son for school and within a week the sole was tearing. I called and returned the shoe to the store. They would NOT give me a refund but offered to repair the shoe. The gentleman at the counter spoke to me in a condescending manner and tried to convince me that my son was playing/took gym in the shoes. I informed him that he is required to wear school uniforms daily and has gym once a week and must wear tennis. I also said that I wouldnt expect this to happen within one week of wearing the shoe and from a Kenneth Cole shoe. He responded, “These are not top of the line shoes!" umm...if they are not good quality why are they selling them? Needless to say I will not return to this store and have informed other parents at the school. Not to mention another child at my sons school had the same shoes and the sole was tearing also. I guess he was running and playing in his shoes. Quality customer service would have been to fix the shoe without the commentary or provide a refund when I requested it. Dont waste your time! I am going back to Van Dyke & Bacon.

A relatively small store but with all the right brand names The owner knows the products and will back order any shoe if he does not have your size available. It seems like DSW has good prices but never has my size or style. The only reason I am commenting is because I have read the reviews and quite frankly disagree with the snide comments. I do not buy shoes very often but have always been treated with the utmost courtesy and respect at this store. Quite frankly, I hope this store continues in business for a long time to come.

I happen to love this store. I was a patient at St. Joseph Medical Centers Skeletal Dysplasia Center for many years. After my surgeries my late orthopedic surgeon Dr. Steven Kopits would send me here to get shoes that worked for my feet. They still deliver quality shoes that fit hard to fit feet. Im from the state of Delaware and nobody else can work with shoes to get them to fit my feet, Id gladly return to get shoes here time and time again!

We love coming here. Besides my parents buying shoes here for years I bring my three year old for her fittings and all her new shoes. We live in Denver but I still prefer to come here whenever were in town. Stephanie has always been helpful with the fittings and showing my daughter the selection of shoes they have for her to pick from. She has always found at least one pair of shoes if not more.

Selection is okay. Store is way too small for the amount of stock they are trying to carry. Service is only good if the owners feel you are a valued customer (a.k.a. you drive a forest green Suburban with vanity plates and annually buy multiple pairs of sperry topsiders for each of your rapidly growing children who attend gilman and bryn mawr) Owners are extremely rude otherwise.
