They told me 30 minutes over the phone for some recall replacements. I made an appointment and when I got there they told me two to three hours and that they could only do part of the work that day. No one even considered apologizing. I got a letter from Honda about airbag and SRS recalls. Called Planet Honda Matteson and scheduled the recall replacements this morning at 0900. The rep on the phone confirmed the 30 minute estimate in the letter. When I got there Monday morning at 0900, the on-site rep told me that the replacements would take "about" two to three hours - AND that they could only do the airbags, not the SRS. I didnt have three hours to kill so I took my car and drove the 25 minutes back to where I came from. When I asked if this rep planned to talk to the person who scheduled the appointment, he said no but they should know better than to do that - with a not-even-slightly apologetic tone. This place needs to get their act together. EDIT: I see in Planet Hondas response below, denial that I had an appointment. This is an interestingly dishonest tactic. The appointment was booked for Monday, on Saturday. The rep this morning acknowledged the appointment... and the rep this morning told me that the phone rep should not have told me 30 minutes was OK. When I was there, I only saw one other customer on the premises; it did not seem at all busy. Also, I reviewed the recall letters from Honda later in the day after writing this review today - there are two letters for the airbags, one says 30 minutes and the other says 42 min. So, according to Honda Motors, the two repairs that were offered to me today should have taken at least 1:12. Planet Hondas response that it could have been done in 30 mins but they were too busy and I didnt have an appointment makes no sense then on several levels. Indeed the phone rep should not have booked the appointment and confirmed 30 mins, and should not have made the appointment for the three repairs when only two of them could have been done. Which brings me back to my initial conclusion: this place needs to get their act together. Tai p.s. Planet Honda, youre welcome for editing my review to address your mis-statements and blame-shifting, as opposed to adding another one. This keeps the count of your one-star reviews lower and seems fair since Im only one customer.

Typically I am stern and abrasive towards car salespeople; however, Tony McNamara and all of his staff not only treated me with respect, but they also provided me with a very stress-free, enjoyable time. They gave me an excellent price for my trade-in and reasonable financing for my challenging credit. Anytime I ever have a question or problem to this very day, not only does Tony assist me, but everyone at the dealership also does as though they were the individual who sold me the car (since I have come to know just about everyone who works in every department). Their relationship with me did not end after I signed the papers, but it is continual. They have never over-promised and under-delivered, and they make every attempt to make things affordable while also expressing concern for the durability of your purchase through their service department. In fact, my recent visit to the service department was amazing. I had recently let my foot off my brake pedal and accidentally rolled into the trailer hitch of the vehicle in front of me, cracking and bending my Honda hood emblem. When I brought my car to the service department for an oil change and undercoating, Rick Maack noticed the damage I had caused and that I also could not afford to fix (emblem, mount and labor charges were well over $250). He reworked the numbers that I was quoted when I dropped off my car and managed to get the price with a new emblem at a cheaper rate than I was quoted originally. The mount is still cracked, but it is hardly noticeable, but Rick felt I should not be driving my brand-new 2011 Accord looking like a wreck. Little things like that make all the difference in business. Today, most often, businesses are so big that they fail to pay attention to the details of each customer, but not in this case. Planet Honda is a great establishment and they are always willing to lend an ear to listen to any criticism or issue. My dealings with them are seamless everytime; its probably because I am a respectful, polite person with a good attitude. And the coolest thing is this: All of them always remember my name, but I rarely recall most of theirs. They are decent people trying to make a living and provide a product and service. All other dealerships I have visited feel like offices full of ex-cons. There is a way to talk to people and it goes both ways...

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! If I could give this no stars I would. I bought a used car from this dealership ( Mike was my salesman) about a year ago. A 1999 Mazda Protege " as is" 64,000 miles supposedly owned by a old couple in the country. Buying a used car as is I expected to put some work into the car. This was my first car out of college and I needed something to get me back and forth to work. There were no major nor minor problems on the carfax, the body and under the hold of the car looked good and it drove very well given the year of the car. I only put 3500 miles on my car (67500 miles) on my car when I start to hear a loud thumping noise when I hit a bump. Thinking it is just the suspension or sway bar I go and get my car looked at and it turns out the WHOLE SUBFRAME IS RUSTED OUT AND FALLING APART CAUSING PIECES OF IT TO RUB UP AGAINST MY TIRE. MY CAR IS DEEMED UNSAFE NOW AND I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE THE STEERING CAN DETACH AT ANY MOMENT AND I CAN LOSE CONTROL OF MY CAR AND HURT EITHER MYSELF OR OTHERS. This was not an overnight problem that occurred. The dealership knew of this safety hazard when they sold me the car. AN UNSAFE CAR. I have tried to contact them on 3 occasions. The first time I went in person and the supposed manager Vasco told me to have the vehicle inspected by a Mazda dealership because he did not trust a private mechanic and then they will handle it from there. When the Mazda dealership confirmed what the previous mechanic stated I called Vasco back and he told me he had to talk to his manage ( But he told me he was the manager) and he never called me back. PLEASE LISTEN TO THIS REVIEW AND DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP I AM NOT A BITTER PERSON TRYING TO TEAR DOWN A BUSINESS. THEY COULD SELL YOU AN UNSAFE CAR THAT COULD BE DETRIMENTAL TO YOUR FAMILY OR SOMEONE ELSES. I am so glad I took this car in right away because procrastinating could have been fatal. I dont want what happened to me happen to someone else. These are not trustworthy people all they want is that commission.

Do not waste your time coming here. I spoke to Ken and drove an hour and a half because I was told a car was in inventory for sale. I get there, immediately ask to speak to Ken and asked if the car is still available because I had been told it was a busy morning. They told me yes it was available and was offered a test drive. Took it for a drive and was looking to walk out with the vehicle. However, this did not happen as I was telling my salesman ( who was the only helpful and kind person there) I would be purchasing the car, he responded to inform me that, KEN, whom I had spoke to, had already sold the car. I was in shock. This is ridiculous and very unprofessional. They had me speak to their sales manager, who was no help. The sales manager was offering me cars that were no where near my price range. In fact, he laughed when I told him if there was a vechile that he had that was similar to the vechile I was trying to purchase which was $11,900. Very disrespectful and ridiculous. Do not ever waste your time here, I certainly will not. UPDATE: Today, two days later after the incident, I went to go check if the car was still listed because it sounded to me a lot like a scam and not surprisingly , IT WAS. The car is still listed and the price has gone up by 2,000$. Needless to say, its the old trick of putting something to good to be true online, having customers come in and since they would rather have the car for sale for a bigger price, the lie and say the car has been sold. Then they try to sell you something more expensive. I am actually laughing because they thought they could talk me into this. Jokes on them. Lame, classless bastards. response to Ken: I have no reason to lie, I do not gain anything by lying to the people. I have screenshots of the posts that you guys had online. The one from 11,900$ and the listing of today $13,900. Do not be ignorant to the fact that you guys intended to pull a fast one over not only myself, but whoever else came in and tried to buy this car.
