I went through a lot of emotional stress because of their mistake. I signed a contract, believing I had bought two male gerbils. Instead, one of them was a male and the other was a female. This occurred four months after I bought these two so the 2 week contract was void. Except for the fact that I bought them believing they were male. Basically, I didnt sign a contract for a pair of breeding gerbils. All the manager could do was offer me a half priced cage and return one (later both) gerbils. That was it. I had to do everything. I had to find a shelter for the gerbil pups. I had to stress for an entire month over this situation. I couldnt focus on anything, most of the time I sort of just sat there, spacing out and thinking and thinking and thinking. I was placed in a worse mental state than I was already in. The worst part is that I didnt know I was allergic to animals, other than birds and fish. Those allergies had developed over time. I spent Sunday night in the Emergency Room because I was not being rational and tried to reunite the two parents. It didnt turn out so well. However, I had another pair of gerbils before who never bit me other than one of them nipping me sometimes. Yes, that was probably my fault. But if that mistake wasnt made, I wouldve been able to spend more time with them before not being able to own pets for a long time and needing to take allergy shots for years to come if I want any pet, thats not a bird or fish. I only had these gerbils for a few months. But I loved them. I loved their personalities. I loved how one looked like a mouse, acted like a cat and was actually a gerbil. I loved the one who ran on her wheel all the time, who one time pushed the male off from the 3rd floor (he was fine) and was finally beginning to warm up to me. I had to separate them. And I had to give them away. And I died a little each passing day. And a little more when I, who have always begged for a pet since I was little, couldnt be near any for a long, long time. To many others, this sounds stupid about how one person is able to get so emotional and into these gerbils that they have only owned for a few months. But what I want to make a point is that, I had to pay for an exam fee of $60 to get the gerbil pups sexed. I had to find homes for all of them. I had to suffer, I had to pay for their mistake. I already had a lot of my plate. I just got shoved more into my face. I didnt return any of the parent gerbils (They would not take in the pups) because after this incident, I didnt trust them. And if you were too lazy to read all this (I apologize, this is long, I have a lot to spout out), then please at least read this part. What I want to say is, even after all this the store is not bad in general, they just wont take the amount of responsibility they should be taking. Yes, according to the contract, they cant pay veterinary fees and also the gerbils are officially mine after 2 weeks. But I bought these gerbils under the impression that they were BOTH MALE. I got a MALE and FEMALE. So essentially, they very much lied to me and if they took responsibility other than the form of return the gerbils and cage discount which I didnt need at all, I would probably better off. If people love this store, great, it is a nice store. However, after this incident, I want to implore them to take responsibility if another incident like this happens! I dont want anyone else buying a same sex pair of any animal only to find they are male and female and whoops, they had babies and we cant do anything about that. Basically, it would probably be better to adopt at a shelter. There are too many animals out there needing homes anyway. Go here for supplies? Fine. Go here for animals? I would suggest looking at shelters first. Especially after this. They have saved over 7 million lives. Its on their website. They didnt save my gerbils lives. I had to save my gerbils lives.

I have a very hard dog to deal with when it comes to grooming (she bites, barks/howls a TON, has moles on her body) and bringing her here is no problem. They know to watch out for her moles when trimming her and listen to my requests. I think other owners on here complaining about their dogs that they should take into consideration a lot of dogs arent use to or never will be use to kennels. There are some dogs that no matter if a worker is sitting in the kennel with them will go back to their owners stressed the hell out. Especially if they are spoiled/super attached to their owners (like my Sophie, hence the howling... SORRY Groomers!). Also, the price is NOT at all expensive or high. Try taking your dog to a privately owned groomer (which i have done many times, even taken to a vet clinic to sedate Sophie due to her biting). For a poodle who has gone in with matted hair or a bad hair cut from a previous groomer they always charge me $50-80. This is perfectly fine considering the great job they do and other places pricing start at $100. Just take into consideration what the groomer does for a living... some dogs arent easy to handle when you arent their owner, it takes a lot of time to trim a dog (not just an HR, it takes me an hr and a half to trim Sophie who is a toy poodle and I do a crap of a job). Think about you yourself going to a hair dresser! My advice is just talk to the groomers on the phone and in person and let them know exactly what your expecting. If pricing is an issue they can give you an estimate and can call if the price is going to change (After view the pup).

Had a similar experience: My Westie is usually cheerful and fearless but started shaking and acted fearful with her ears flat this time when we went in. So I wondered what had transpired the last time, but thought maybe she just didnt like having her nails trimmed. Or maybe it was because she was left in a cage so long because they didnt listen when I told them that I have a new phone number and had corrected it on the form. They incorrectly called me at the old number which meant the dogs sat in a cage for 3 hours longer than necessary. When I called to check on my dogs, I got voice mail, finally getting them on the phone and they said my "phone was out of order" (DUH calling the old number). Anyway, not subjecting my dogs to that again just because of the association. She is still shaky and kind of depressed the day after. I feel bad on a couple of fronts, first because she had a bad experience and second because I thing they do good work but something is off here. The grooming jobs looked so nice, though the price seems high. And I always tip well. They just didnt continue to earn my business.

This is the best PetSmart as far as management is concerned. Myself and my two babies were treated like the only customers in the store. I hadnt even planned on going in. I was meeting someone outside but my dogs love the store and theres always something on sale. The employees were super nice and the manager (Dave??) Im so bad with names, treated us like weve been friends for years. Take heed you other pet chain stores, this ones run by the master. I certainly got my moneys worth and am looking forward to my next visit.
