This was by far the worst experience I have had with a florist. My mother was in Mary Washington Hospital for surgery and I ordered flowers for her online to be sent to the hospital. Then I received a voicemail from Mary Washington Florist stating that my mother was not at Mary Washington Hospital. The problem with that is my mother WAS in fact at Mary Washington Hospital, in a room recovering from a mastectomy, and doing so without the flowers from her son - the flowers there was absolutely no good reason she was denied. After confirming with the hospital that my mother was indeed a patient there, I called Mary Washington Florist to share this information with them. The condescending woman on the phone informed me my mother was probably in "same-day surgery," where the hospital does not accept flower deliveries. There are two problems with that: 1> it is not the same as "your mother is not in that hospital," 2> I called the hospital and spoke with the nurse in charge of the unit in which my mother was located, and the nurse stated unequivocally that there would be no problem sending my mother flowers at the hospital, and that Mary Washington Hospital has no policy prohibiting flower deliveries for patients in same-day surgery. To make an already intensely unpleasant situation worse, after deciding to avoid further headaches by switching the delivery address for the flowers from the hospital to my mothers home, and conveying this intent to the florist, the snotty woman on the phone actually asked me if I had that address. My mothers address. As if I was suggesting the delivery be changed to an address I did not have. It was at this point that I decided to do what I should have done in the first place: order my mothers flowers from one of the big nationwide florists. Supporting small, local businesses is my preference, but that only works if my support is appreciated, which at Mary Washington Florist, it was anything but. The people at Mary Washington Florist are rude and unsympathetic, and they do not deserve your business.

I called to complain about a premium floral arrangement that didnt look like the arrangement photo ordered from their website. Customer service/floral designer was rude, irritated and disrespectful. She had such a terrible attitude and made no sincere offer to rectify anything. She asks in such a tone "what do you want me to do?" And I decided the best thing I could do in this situation was offer a review. A return of money would do nothing to fix a ruined birthday floral delivery. She must get complaints often because when she answered the phone, she asked if I wanted to complain about a delivery. She then goes on to criticize me for not asking for the arrangement to look like the photo. I suggested that she had my email address and phone number; and should never have accepted the order if she didnt have the proper flowers to make the arrangement. I was extremely dissatisfied and wont ever patronize this business again.

You would not believe how similiar my story is to yours. I did the exact same thing only when I called to ask where the floweres were he calmy let me know they were clsoed. When I asked about the money charged the card he let me know that the final bill had not been produced and was I "really that naive?".... I am serious when I say that. He actually followed up with the statement am I "actually that naive! I tried to explain that false advertisement hurts his business but he told me that was my problem... how is that MY problem. They dont even understand that false advertisement hurts their business. Why anyone would want to do business with these people I will never know. Now imagine not just sending flowers but ordering an entire weddings worth of flowers through these people. When you have a question will they call you naive?

Best Florist Shop i have ever had business from! I received a birthday bouquet of flowers from my boyfriend in Canada. He was very worried i wasnt going to get them because of the long distance and there was no way for him to ensure i would get the bouquet if something went wrong. Well (nothing went wrong) i woke up to the most beautiful bouquet of flowers, and a sweet note from him. Shortly after my Father wanted to send my mother a bouquet of flowers for her birthday! So we called Mary Washington Florist and she recieved her bouquet promptly at 2 as requested. These people are the best florists in Fredericksburg, Va! Thank you guys for being so prompt and making my day as well as my familys special occasions wonderful! I am really thankful!

Great florist, always helpful and never rude. (The gentleman with the hospital problem needs to remember that Head Nurses do not make policy for flower deliveries. While they may say yes, hopsitals have rules that florist must follow. Did he know that most hospital do not allow for room delivery by florist? ) Anyway this florist is family owned and operated and always deliveres above and beyond what is expected. They have a standing order for my Mom and it is always Fresh and Reasonable! Thats why they have been in business since 1976. The oldest FTD shop in Fredericksburg!

Mary Washington Florist did an excellent job to fulfill my order --- a peace lily was needed for a funeral home delivery, including a card containing many names. Mary Washington Florist was most accommodating and worked with me to get the card just right and also let me include a personal note to be attached. The peace lily was delivered on time and it looked beautiful - lush and full with a lovely and appropriate white bow. I highly recommend Mary Washington Florist for outstanding service and quality.

tell me that these two people arent the same people? this company has been servicing my family for three generations spaning over 30 years and never had any trouble. sounds to me its another case of "why isnt isnt the world kissing my .....?!" they never heard of anyone being closed on a holiday?

They did the bouquets and boutonnieres for my wedding and they were beautiful. They called ahead before delivery, which helped everything go smoothly. I loved my bouquet from them!
