My first experience with this store was for my first homecoming. The corsage and boutonniere were so beautiful! Either the owner or one of the other employees (it was a while ago) did a great job matching my dress and my dates tie with the flowers she helped me choose. However, my whole family and all of my friends have been going to this flower shop for years and have had nothing but good experiences. Im pretty shocked to see all of these horrible reviews. I suppose it may have a lot to do with how small the shop was before and how old a lot of these reviews are. However, please, do not toss aside my opinion as meaningless. My family has known the owner of this shop for years from continued patronage and the amount of baseless, intense, abuse that she has to face from extremely (and I mean EXTREMELY) unreasonable, entitled people is beyond me. 99.9% of the time people will throw verbal abuse at her for not delivering something "on time" when they never specified any kind of time for the delivery, even going as far as threatening her physically. THESE ARE FLOWERS, PEOPLE! AND SHE DOES A GREAT JOB! It is a small operation! You must also consider the context of these reviews. Valentines Day in Virginia falls on some of the coldest days of the year. I remember one year trying to order flowers from her as an ironic gift for my boyfriend but there was a SEVERE ICE/SNOWSTORM. I talked to her about it later and apparently there were people, again, physically threatening her, cussing her out, etc. because she couldnt deliver.. WHEN THE ROADS WERE COVERED IN 6INCHES OF SNOW AND A SHEET OF ICE. So please take these reviews with a grain of salt. This flower shop has done nothing but provide attentive service and their staff are lovely, hardworking people. Keep in mind that not a lot of people go out of their way to leave positive reviews. They are usually just satisfied and go about their day. There is a reason she is still in business. And I dont think the arbitrary musings regarding her business model of some disgruntled people explain away how she still is in business. Her and her staff make good arrangements. Period.

Walked in to order a boutenniere and corsage for the father/daughter dance. After quite some time, a guy came to talk to me, and said the order seemed ok, but the manager needed to approve it. The manager soon came to the front, and rudely asked what I wanted, and what it was for. She then said she didnt have time for it, and that I should get it at Safeway. I asked if I was hearing her correctly, that she didnt want my business, to which she replied, "I dont have time for that, I need to get ready for Valentines Day" and walked away. UNBELIEVABLE. You would think in this bad economy she would be thankful for any business. She had no way of knowing that I was hoping to use her local store for the arrangements for an upcoming business event. Not now. I dont know if Daniel and I visited the same store even. I have heard that everyone has some kind of complaint about this place (i.e. less-than-fresh flowers in arrangements, failure to deliver without notice, etc.) It is said that the only way she stays in business is because 80% of her business is via the internet or national flower delivery service. So, save yourself money and grief, and DO NOT PATRONIZE this HORRIBLE persons store!

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL! NO ONE SHOULD EVERY ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. I placed an order the day before Valentine’s Day and spent over $500 for a delivery to be sent. Not only did the representative I speak with commit to sending us our receipt via fax but also a picture of the bouquet. Not an unreasonable request considering the amount we spent. I called today to inquire about the status of the delivery and status of the picture and my faxed receipt, since I had yet to receive either of the two. I was told “we are extremely busy and I do not have time to seek out your order, we have over 800 orders, it should be delivered by 2pm." Needless to say 2pm came and went and still no delivery. Every time I call, NO ONE ANSWERS. Still no receipt, or picture. This place should know the holidays are a busy time and plan accordingly, not to mention accommodate their customers. Ridiculous. How does a business operate this way?AWFUL !

This is the only place I get flowers for very important events. Ive come to expect nothing less than the top quality service this place has to offer. The flowers have always arrived on time for me (contrary to some of the sour reviews) and they look even more fantastic than I expect. The staff is very welcoming and I can see the florist works really hard to keep this shop running smoothly. In the rare case is a problem they are always willing to fix it or work out with you to find a reasonable solution as long as you let them know what the issue is. One of the best florists I know. I havent had any real problems so far. Sort of shocked there are some very critical reviews. Just want to let people know this place has earned my praise. I think many other feel the same way thats why this place has been able to stay around while many of the other florists in this area have closed up shop.

2 experiences with this florist. I live out of state. The first one was the Friday before Mothers Day, noon o the west coast. Believe me, I understand that it is late for a Mothers Day request. However their store is literally **3 blocks from my mothers house!** I paid extra for their promised to deliver a plant to my mom "ON OR BEFORE Mothers Day." Instead, they delivered the plant on Monday...you know, the day AFTER. Today I called them from the west coast to see if they could assist me (only b/c theyre so close to my mom!) They simply did not answer the phone...EVER. I called twice and it rang 30+ times. Not even an answering machine to say theyre closed. Just ignoring their customers. Enough said.

I purchased some flowers for my mother this Mothers Day and they were never delivered. They claimed they attempted to contact her, but she was at home all day and never received a call. When she called the florist herself, the owner was rude and disrespectful. As a member of the military serving overseas, I do not exactly have the ability to purchase flowers at a shop and deliver them myself, so I have to depend on local companies, which usually works very well. This, however, is completely outrageous. I will never be purchasing from this company again and I would highly recommend anybody who wants quality service steer clear.

Excellent customer service!!! I called in last Friday afternoon to send flowers to my wife at her job. Lori was very helpful and accepted my order and agreed to make the delivery that same afternoon to my wife which was very much appreciated being as though the other company in Ashburn I spoke with would not take my order for a delivery for that same afternoon. Thank you! My wife loved the flowers and I will only use Countryside Florist in the future!!!!
