I took my lack Russell Skipperki mix in for the de shedding treatment. He is shedding so much more now after then he was before I took him in. I mistakenly called PetSmart instead of PetCo. Spoke to a manager there who explained that she has heard of this being an issue even at her store. She then informed me that, if the dog is not dried completely,the brushing is partially ineffective and will cause more shedding. ALSO, she said PetCo will probably bring you back in for a retreat meant free I charge. Very informative! THEN, I call PetCo and tell them my issue. A young girl first told me that this sometimes happens. That after the first treatment they will shed MORE and that this is NORMAL! Seriously?! No one told me this when I left with my dog! I really did adore Ash, the girl who did his first grooming. However, not only did this girl make excuses, she wasnt going to offer to re groom my dog. After putting me on hold for over 5 min, hanging up on me, then on hold for about 5 more min, she gets on the phone and explains that I have to bring my dog in when the groomer who did it the first time has to re do it because she already got the commission. Very unprofessional. I held management positions and I have to say, this is not the voice you want for your company. Any one answering your phones who come across an issue should pass it on to a manger or someone who is trained to deal with customers. I was neither angry or frustrated and this girl was unsure of how to handle this simple situation and I feel spoke too much of your policies. I didnt need to know that the groomer had to do it on their own dime and that a note was going to placed in her file! I will be speaking with a manager when I take my dog back.

Just dropped my 10 year old husky off at the store for grooming (been a customer for years). From the moment the groomer saw my dog and by questions he asked me - i could tell he was uncomfortable and not confident around dogs... which made me ask myself if this guy even knew what he was doing... what normally takes me 2 minutes to drop off my dog, took me 10, and when i left i had an uneasy feeling leaving my dog with this guy (especially of the fact that it is indeed the store where the dog got killed recently) ... just when i got home i got a call that "unfortunatelly" my dog tried to bite him and i need to come pick him up immideately. When i asked if anyone else could take him- i was told that "everyones busy, we have a lot of dogs here, that makes him nerveous, please reschedule.." mind u this IS the place when ive been grooming the dog for years and have had NO issues whatsoever. I left with a feeling that the staff was unprofessional and whats worst - had absolutely no clue how to handle animals. Do not recommend it to anyone.

What it amazing day at Petco. First time taking my long hair cat to get groomed. Chief Long Tail. Marilyn and Jen were amazing. Not only did they take excellent care of my baby they took excellent care of me and my granddaughter. I am disabled in an electric wheelchair it was pouring when it was time to leave the store. I think Marilyn was done her shift when she was done taking excellent care of my baby . but she stayed with us until we were safely in our vehicle Which would have never happened without another employee named Jen She came out in the pouring rain and help me load my electric wheelchair on my vehicle. I definitely recommend them for all your grooming needs for your pet. Chief really enjoyed his day of pampering. He came home and told his sister ShyShy Princess Warrior all about it. Im looking forward to taking both of them there frequently. Thanks so much to Marilyn and Jen for making something that I was so frightened about a wonderful day :-)B-):-)

Going to this establishment was always out of our way but we did because Petco is the only store that sells Natural Balance Pet Food, so today when we went to pick up some food we decided to get our dogs nails cut and grinded. Usually we go to Petsmart for grooming because its closer but since we were already there we decided to give it a try. She came out looking exactly the same as she went in except her nails were shinier. we spent $16 for them to put her on the table and not cut her nails. We ended up taking her to Petsmart after where they properly cut her nails, they said that it looked like Petco had just tried to grind them a lil but did not cut them at all. We decided we would start ordering her food online and to keep going to Petsmart for grooming because Petco has just been a waste of time and money. Im sure not all Petcos are the same, but this one definitely needs better and more experienced groomers and we will not be going back.

Excellent location. For all those saying they killed Jewels you really need to stop with that nonsense. The owner of the dog brought the dog in 2 days after having a stroke. She even posted pictures on the Williamstown facebook page trying to make her story sound more believable . The pictures were old and showed a happy dog before the stroke and a dog that was suffering after a stroke. The woman lied about the incident and people lost their jobs over the lie. Also what the woman did not tell people is the dog never died at Petco. Nope she had the dog put to sleep due to complications of the stroke and nothing to do with petco. Also she did not say how Petco paid her 20,000 . So again for all those people bashing Petco in Turnersville you need to grow up and stop believing everything you hear or read. I got the full story on this woman and I knew Petco did no wrong and still went out of their way for this woman.

My sister called someone a few days ago to make an 8:30 am grooming appointment. I get there 20 minutes early, and none of the groomers were there. I call them to see if any where available because I made my appointment at 8:30, but the person on the phone claimed that it was impossible for an 8:30 appointment to have been made because they dont open till 9 am. The sign on the door says the grooming section opens at 8:00 a.m.! What is sad is that before, we always made 8:30 appointments Someone was either lying, covering their butt for being late, or clearly needs to update their schedule! May not come here again!

Been going there for a few years now and things were fine. The last time I brought my dog for grooming they used a sweet smelly shampoo on her after I told them unscented. It made me sick since I am allergic to all sweet smelly things like perfume and candles. When I called to complain and ask for her to be rebathed they gave me a hard time about it. The guy who finally gets on the line, Jason, is a sarcastic smart ass about it. Going to contact the central office and go to Petsmart from now on.
