Coleman Brothers Florist ruined my special occasion! I had ordered flowers for my girlfriend’s birthday to deliver to her job. They did not deliver the flowers directly to her, and she did not receive them on her birthday. Upon contact with the company the next day, they told me that they would not refund ANYTHING due to the fact that they “tried their best to get it to her.” I was transferred to the owner, Tim Wilkinson, and he was the rudest person I had talked to all day. I asked for a refund because she had not received her flowers and he told me that he would not refund me anything because they left the flowers at the front desk and it was not their fault they didn’t make it to her (btw they left the flowers at the front desk of a hospital with 3000 employees). When I asked again for a refund he laughed and then he hung up on me! I had given them a specific room number and her phone number at work and asked them to only deliver to her and to make sure she got them in hand. Now she has no flowers, and I’m out $50. I called back and asked if they would just refund the delivery fee of $7. They refused. I called back a third time and they cut me off mid-sentence and put me on hold for 15 minutes! Their website states a 100% satisfaction guarantee. When I asked about this, they said “We don’t control our website, a third party company does that, so we are not responsible for anything they write on there.” Apparently they don’t care about your satisfaction as a customer, only your money. What horrible customer service. I used them because I wanted to support a family owned business, and I got worse customer service than standing in line at Wal-mart at 3am. Funny how "john doe" had a similar review earlier. I agree with him completely. If you value your special occasion at all, then don’t use COLEMAN BROTHERS FLORIST. Period.

Unbelievable. I called Coleman Bros to find out if they could get flowers to a funeral home for a viewing today at 1:00 p.m. (it was 11:00 a.m. when I called). I expected they wouldnt be able to but thought I would try as I had just gotten the information from my co-worker about the death of her grandmother. What I didnt expect was the response from the woman who answered the phone. She just said, "its already 11, theres no way. Weve been swamped." There was never any acknowledgement of loss or apology that she couldnt help me! No, "Im so sorry for your loss. I wish we could help but I wouldnt be able to guarantee the delivery..." or something to that effect. Youd think they never dealt with funeral requests before. All I could think to say to her was "death is inconvenient, isnt it." I manage an animal hospital. I get more sympathy from the staff at our florist when I call to order flowers for a pet that has passed away!!!

Our family has used Coleman Brothers for years. Back when Floyd use to be there. So we are use to superb quality. On Tuesday, my sisters and I went to order a spree for my Mothers casket. My Mother had always taken great pride in her yard with something blooming at all times. So we wanted something that reflected her taste. We worked with Vic, one of the designers. Showing him some pictures, talking colors, and him showing us samples of flowers. We agreed on a design and paid. When we saw the arrangement for the first time, our mouths literally dropped. It was absolutely gorgeous! He had taken what I was seeing in my mind and made it happen. Everyone who saw it stated, not only was it beautiful but not what you saw all the time. It was a stunning piece of art. Mom would have been thrilled!! It was totally her. We cant think Vic enough. In our time of grief, we came out of the fog, to find his beautiful garden.

I truly love this place. They have been doing flowers for me for over 40 years. Yes! I said over 40 years. And, my parents used them before me. I wouldnt feel comfortable going anywhere else. I dont care what the occasion. They are always "Johnny-On-The-Spot". Everything is always fresh and beautiful. I have NEVER had a bad experience with them. And, they are really good about helping with suggestions if you are unsure of what you need. Or, what you want to express with your selection. I recently had a friend start a new job at VCU. I wanted her to have a nice dish garden to start her off on the right foot. Not only did they come up with a beautiful dish garden, they delivered it the same day - and that was in the middle of all the graduations going on at the Siegel Center! Now THATS service! They even put a beautiful Black and Gold bow on it for me.

all-around horrible experience. poor quality flowers. late delivery. rude customer service. placed the order (and billed for it) 2 weeks in advance for Valentines Day. provided my girlfriends work hours (7 hour time frame) and special instructions for the flowers to be delivered to her at work so that she, like any woman on Valentines Day, could show them off to fellow coworkers. while all her coworkers had nice bouquets, her flowers arrived 20 minutes before she had to leave and looked awful. i was very upset and called the owner who said it was my fault i wasnt more specific with my instructions and then hung up on me. my girlfriend was heartbroken and i was left looking like a jerk on Valentines Day. please dont make the same mistake i did - pick a different florist.

Coleman Brothers is the best florist in Richmond hands down. I have been using them since 1986, and they have always provided me with the best customer service and freshest, most beautiful arrangements. Colemans has a huge selection, including exotic varieties and silk. My wedding arrangements were stunning. The blanket they made for my grandmothers funeral was the finest quality I have ever seen with tons of roses, iris, and tulips. When my father died, I received a blooming dish garden that included primrose and hydrangea, which I was able to plant outside as a living memorial of my dad and am still enjoying 10 years later! I will not use another florist in Richmond. I highly recommend Coleman Brothers for quality and customer service.

Colemans USED to get nearly everything right; now not so much. I and my company have been regular customers for far over 30 years. We USED to order by phone with confidence. NOT NOW. They filled awritten major order a year ago for a family wedding, NAILED it ! Went back IN PERSON - this week - ordered DUPLICATES of 2 of last years wedding flowers. COLORS CAME OUT WRONG. This happened the year before as well, for flowers for an event we hosted. COLORS WERE VERY WRONG. We can understand ONE bad order; but to MISS DUPLICATING A PREVIOUS WRITTEN ORDER means somethings WRONG. Must be LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. That CAN translate into LACK OF CUSTOMERS. Our OTHER flower vendors seem to not have that problem.

I wish I could give them 100 stars because I surely would. I called on Friday to have a custom Jimi Hendrix guitar arrangement delivered for Saturday the next day. This piece was for a great friend of mine that suddenly had passed away earlier in the week. The girl that answered the phone was extremely professional and very helpful. I wanted a very detailed replica of the Hendrix guitar. Let me tell you!! They nailed it!! It was just a beautiful piece and got hundreds of compliments at the celebration of my good friends life. Coleman Brothers Flowers at 2104 Dumbarton Rd. has earned my business for life. I wish this company many successes in the future. Best, Aaron Gundersen
