I had previously had trepidation about using a pawn shop for anything other than buying merchandise as a bargain hunter. However having recently arrived in Houston and not liking to use credit whenever possible, I got more curious about the process than anything. As a watch lover, I decided to bring one of my time pieces in for an appraisal and loan (Pawn). I have now been back *TWO* more times with my watches. I have always been treated fairly. Please take away your pre-conceived notions about "the dark and dingy pawn shop" before you visit them. They understand that there might be a million and one reasons why people turn to a pawn shop for loans or to sell their items. No one will "look down on you" here, ever. You will be pleasantly surprised to see that the location is clean, organized, secure (there has always been a uniformed officer present when I have visited) and the people are so friendly. If youve spent any time in Houston youve probably seen the owners on TV, and they are there every day that I have been there. The entire staff is friendly and professional, I really can not stress this enough. That said, you should have some general understanding... First off, a pawn shop is a business, it is not a charity. You are literally walking in, being given CASH on the SPOT in exchange for your item of value, and walking out the door. I dont think a lot of people realize how important this service is. They cant possibly take everything but they will give you alternatives if its not something they feel they can sell. They wont just lowball you to try to steal your item from you. They have not stayed in business as long as they have by operating that way, and remember THEY assume all the risk once your item is in their possession if you dont return to pick it up. Speaking of which, the loan term and rate are great, too I can not say enough about this establishment. Do your homework, dont be afraid to negotiate and also check out the great jewelry case if youre a watch guy. They always have great pieces for sale, too.

I first went to Wright about 10 years ago, I have been the customer ever since and here is why: Professionalism: these guys know their business inside and out. Whether its buying or selling Rolexes, silver, gold designer jewelry and handbags they know the true market value for the products they represent. Service: each and every time I have gone to Wright I have been greeted warmly and treated very well. Many of the team I know on a first name basis having visited so many times over the years, but if six months or six days go by its always the same a hearty "hello" and "what can I do for you". Honesty: I have both bought and sold Rolexes and Louis Vuitton, and these guys sell the real deal. No fakes and top-of-the-line first quality merchandise. They have been forthright with me about the actual resell value of merchandise and have worked with me on pricing when buying. I always feel that Im walking out with a good value for what Im paying. Value: Ive shopped at Bobs watches and other Rolex resellers online but always found my best pricing and best deals at Wright Not many businesses can stack up to Wright and I will remain loyal customer into the future, as a matter fact I have my eye on another Rolex and Im hoping to purchase it very soon.

Despite what others had to say about their experience, mine was horrible. The first red flag was the guy who waited on me weighed all my gold together. The second was that the loan he offer was much lower than the subpar or low end pawnshops found in lower income neighborhoods. I was offended more there than this high end jewelry/pawn shop. After the guy insulted my intelligence, I told him this was a very low offer considering the upscale shop that it was, he just gave a sheepish grin and said come back when you have more. I just looked at him and wander........and walked out. Let me add several years ago I spoke to Pamela wright by phone and we discuss her buying my baby grand piano. We spoke st length several times.....once she saw me, she gave me the run around and hundreds of excuses.

So I went in to sell my 4 karat 14k gold diamond ring. The employee looked at the ring criticized it badly. He offered me $300 while saying he was not trying to offend me. I then said ok but showed him previous pawn receipt for $1300 bucks and explained to him that I only came to him because the other pawn shop had a limit. He asked to see the ring and showed it to his manager and then offered me $1400.00. I explained to him that I was not offended at all and in fact I was very knowledgeable in diamonds. This guy was racist as i am African American and thought I was dumb. This proves that these people will rip you off if you have no idea what you are doing. So much for doing business with these folks.

I went to Wright Pawn the other day to sell some jewelry that was left to me by my mother. I was very surprised by the level of knowledge the staff had regarding different precious stones. I also had vintage designer jewelry that I did not think I would get much money for but I was wrong. Overall, I was very happy with my experience here and feel that I was treated very fairly. I would recomend this place to anyone who has some jewelry they are looking to sell. Even if you are not sure of what you have, they are happy to tell you what they know about it.

I selected this business, because they allegedly deal with coins. Now mind you, I had already done some online research. I took the coins in, without any research, they look at them & looked at me and offered me $5.. I dont want to say it was because of my race. But.... Im just saying. Anyway, I went to another place down the road, not as fancy as Wrights & received much more than Wrights offered me. I felt very uncomfortable & upset. I felt like Wrights was trying to get over on me. I WILL NEVER RETURN. RACE JUST MAYBE AN ISSUE THERE.

Offers are ALWAYS 3 x less than any other place Ive gone to to sell merchandise. Not consistent with offers either I went there in Friday to sell merchandise and the offer was way below what I was looking for. Got an offer from an online store I use for hundreds more but was in a bind and could not wait for a check by mail. Went back on Saturday, different person offered even less but the price tag they put on it was 10 x more than they gave me! I understand they are in business to make money but at least be fair to your customers!!!

I Love, Love, Love the Wright Pawn Shop!! This is not your regular pawn shop,they have the BEST stuff there. My favorite was their purse selection. Purses you would never think you can find at a pawn shop, the newest brands, jimmy choo, Louis Vuitton, burberry, channel! I was in purse heaven. I went there to pick out a special birthday gift for my fiances birthday and found the most unique picture, that he absoultly loved! The staff was so beyond friendly and helpful, they made me feel right and home. I cant wait to go back!!
