Im writing this from the parking lot after spending 20 minutes in this store listening to the "trainer" scold and yell at a puppy named Tess. Over and over again, shes saying "Tessy, sit! Sit! TESSY SIT!" and getting progressively more frustrated. The pup, in the meantime, is getting progressively more confused, since she is being constantly spoken to, having cues that she doesnt understand repeated at her, and is trying to cope with the frustrated woman constantly asking her to do different things each time - when Tessy moves away and appears to ignore her, which is normal behavior for an uncomfortable and confused puppy, she yells for Tessy to come; when Tessy comes (after much scolding and pleading from the "trainer"), she is told to sit, and when she doesnt sit - because she does not know what sit means - she is scolded yet again. How on earth is this woman a professional trainer taking peoples hard earned money? Is she intentionally ignorant of basic dog behavior so that she can push an expensive training collar or piece of unnecessary equipment on the owners at their next "training" session? Or does this place actually not care at all about dogs or their well being, and only gives a damn about the profit? I will literally never step foot in another petco, and I hope that someone out there who knows Tessys owners tells them that their puppy is NOT a stubborn or stupid dog at all, shes a completely normal pup who happens to be dealing with an absolute fraud. Seriously. This is why dog training needs to be a regulated profession. If your trainer doesnt have a legitimate certification and an actual background in behavioral psychology, RUN.

I keep freshwater fish and have visited this store for supplies many times. They always, without fail, encourage me to use the cheap, easy, chemical products to maintain my tank conditions rather than answering my questions about more natural solutions. They display a significant lack of knowledge in this area. Additionally, every single fish I have purchased from this store has ended up showing some kind of illness within a few weeks of bringing them home, while fish that I have purchased from other stores remain healthy and hardy. Nearly all of their tanks in the store have dead fish floating around, looking as though they have been there for days. These issue have been present for me at every Petco store I have visited. If you are looking for information about fish-keeping, Id strongly encourage you to look elsewhere.

Absolutely love this Petco - I have a dog with severe anxiety, doesnt like going anywhere, doesnt like anyone and has a hard time calming down and relaxing - but there is just something about this Petco that he absolutely loves. The second we turn into the parking lot hes trying to get out of the car and into the store. He always attempts to make a beeline for Grooming (Half the time we arent even there to get him groomed). Its because of the groomers that Ive seen a huge change in our dog - he is always calmer and relaxed when hes there. 90% of the time all the groomers have to walk us out because our dog wont leave without them. I cant say enough about how amazing the staff and groomers at this store are. Theyre so helpful and know our dog by name and our dog now knows them and has become attached to all of them.

First they offered me the new customer package with a bunch of coupons so that was great but it was a real hassle actually using said coupons. Then I used their grooming services and they CUT MY DOG!! I understand accidents happen and dogs are squirmy, but they lied to me and told me she must of had a scab there and it just feel off. My dog usually has long hair so I thought sure maybe I could have not noticed. But then for the rest of the day my dog seemed off and that night was whimpering in pain. I took her to get and she confirmed it was new injury. Petco didnt charge my for the groom but I did get stuck with the vet bill and my poor dog has to be in a cone until she heals.

i was out looking for new things for my fish tank on Monday and pet co was my last stop iv had mostly bad experiences at different pet cos before but after my visit to the one in hook-sett i am very pleased to say that iv found a pet store that i feel comfortable buying from i had a great time there on Monday jill was on her lunch break i had a question and she still helped me out with everything that i needed and i ended up leaving with some great advise and some great new things for my new fish tank i bought there thanks for all your help i will return for more

I will forever go out of my way to ensure that I go to the Hooksett Petco! I never have anything short of an incredible experience. Whenever I go there, if I need anything I look for Dan, whom I was surprised to find out wasnt a manager. He always goes above and beyond exceeding my expectations. He is always very friendly, and knows the answer to most of my questions. If he does not know the answer, he calls upon one of his managers and they assist me with my needs, and will always ensure that all my answers were answered. Bravo, Petco! Keep up the good work!

I shop at this Petco at least once a week. All the workers there have been friendly and always make sure I am taken care of. The store smells great when you walk in, and it is always neat and clean. Kelly in grooming is amazing and has some kind of magic when it comes to keeping cats and dogs calm. The staff is always prompt opening a second register if a line is forming.

Loved going there untill most of the excellent staff was let go! The store manager has no management stills and is hardly ever there. She is selfish and doesnt know how to properly run a store. A very FEW decent people work there still and i feel bad that they have to deal with such a store manager. I wont go in that store while the store manager is is on the clock.

This is the best Petco I have been to. The staff goes out of their way to ensure you get what you need and welcoming from when you walk in the door. They know their animals, and they know animal people.

My fish and cat only like the food there and no where else. I get the cat food in a big bag and it is cheaper in the longer run. Love the store I would tell all my friends and family about this place.

Nice friendly and helpful staff. Prices are a bit expensive, but thats typical in pet stores. You can bring your dog so thats a plus. Looks like they offer grooming and pet training classes also.
