Ive known a good amount about birds, but when I bought my budgie from here I didnt know the signs of respiratory distress in birds. The Budgie Parakeet I got from here has had psittacosis; and has been showing signs of respiratory infections since day one. Ive had him for about one month and he has been on antibiotics for 25 days, and his left lun still doesnt sound right. Psittacosis is a highly contagious form of a strain of clamydia that affects the respiratory system of birds, and the respiratory infection can spread to humans. Its know as Parrot Fever. The budgie is so tame and docile, its such a shame. I only say this to prevent others from getting a budgie that they will fall in love with a sick baby birdie, if one bird had it chances are theres a huge bunch of them that did because its so contagious.

This is by far my favorite pet store, I drive from CT to go here. Found them back in 2003 when I bought my umbrella cockatoo from them, they taught me everything I needed to know before taking her home.....fast forward to now, Im still going. My latest adventure is setting up an African cichlid aquarium. The process has been long because they make you do it right! Its not like big box stores that sell you a tank and send you home with fish. Dom walked me through the whole process of setting up, decorating CORRECTLY for the benefit of the type of fish and helping me pick fish out that are compatible while giving me the colorful tank Im looking for. Pics will follow once the fish are in. If you want to learn about the pet you are getting this is the store to go to!!!

This place is really something else, and I hope its around for a long time. Firstly, its like a trip to the zoo every time you go. Between all the exotic and LARGE animals not for sale and the staff (especially Toris) vast knowledge of them, you could spend hours in there before or after your purchase. Secondly, I bought two Roborovski Dwarf Hamsters (Aaron Fur & Alexander Hamsterton) there, both adorable, both extremely well cared for, and both bred in shop. They do well with being handled, are healthy, and the staff took the time to take us through the details of their care. Cant wait to go back to buy a bag of hamster food just so I can cuddle the tortoise, the weird rabbit chinchilla lookin things, and ogle the humongous reptiles.

What an incredible shop! Locally owned, FAMILY business since 1974 (I believe thats what I read on a sign hanging at the front door) Knowledgeable, helpful staff that really CARE about the animals. Of course you must see their giant alligator, feed the tortoises, & go say "Hi Pretty Bird!" to my new friend Bubba, the sweetest, smartest bird ever!!! & when/if you are interested & READY to buy an animal companion, this IS the place to go, you NEED to know you can go back & get correct info & help for your pet. Whether its a hamster, bunny, snake, fish, frog, snake, turtle/tortoise or any other reptiles, THIS IS THE SPOT YOU NEED TO GO!! You wont be sorry. & even if you dont want to take an animal home, go have a look, youll be amazed!!!

Domenic and his parents, Arlene and Domenic, run a wonderful pet store. I get all my fish, fish supplies (indoor and outdoor), reptiles, aquariums and terrariums there. Our two bearded dragons love their home, completely "furnished" by Pure Paradise Pets. My husband just set up a koi pond and a salt water tank with Domenics help. And when my mom set up her new aquarium I told her that she couldnt beat Domenics prices or service. She loved the store and is extremely happy with her beautiful aquarium. Also, I would be remiss not to mention how much my children LOVE sludge the alligator and the turtles!!

This store is amazing! Everything about it is great! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff (with a great sense of humor)! Amazing selection of pets, some I have never seen anywhere else except for on TV or the Zoo! Speaking of zoo, they have a few animals that are their own personal pets, and are definitely worth checking out! This is the only store that Ive ever seen tarantula slings (babies) for sale. Picked up a kitten from here, and she fits right into the rest of the family! Will be back again soon!

Went there to buy crickets. Noticed they kept a rabbit in tiny wire bottom cages that were stacked on another small animal cage so when an animal in the bottom cage moved it shook the top cage. The rabbit looked so scared and stressed. I wanted to rescue him, but I didnt want to give them incentive to continue treating animals this way. This place seems to pride itself on having exotic animals to say they have exotic animals. They dont care about the animals well being.

If I could give better than five stars I would, if youre looking for an awesome selection of healthy, well socialized and happy animals THIS IS THE PLACE! My fiancee and I walked in asking about garden snakes, she was terrified of snakes until handling a 2 year old sweetheart pastel ball python, needless to say we walked out with him and love it! Also have to add, the staff is truly welcoming and fantastic! They have customers for life!

Ive gone to pure paradise for all our animals. Prices are good. Everyone there is soo nice and very knowledgeable. Would definately recommend, especially if you are looking for something out of ordinary. Weve had degus, geckos, fish of all sorts, birds, and a cat. Yeah I have a zoo lol, but all live good long happy lives. Never breeding problems or sick animals. Which we have encountered at some of the chain stores.

This place is the best pet store in Rhode Island. They can help you with any pet, the whole staff if knowledgeable and very helpful, they are friendly as well. The prices are decent, they are not outrageous for a local pet shop. They have unique pets in the some which arent for sale but they are fun to look at. Please if you have not gone go I promise you wont regret it.

Thank you guys, this place is great on my birth day they helped me pick out my boa constrictor and had mutliple choices and affordable prices and today helped me with my boa constrictor,I would recomend anyone thats going to get a reptile or need information to go to preparadise pets its like a walk in zoo

They are knowledgeable about animals ,but its expensive.A cat cardboard scratching box was $12 .At job lot you can get a better quality one that even comes with cat nip and a toy for that price. Not a bad place to buy animals ,but i suggest you get your pets needs else where.

The staff is friendly and their animals are well cared for. Prices are reasonable and they always have a wide selection of exotic and "normal" pets available as well as the products necessary to support them. Couldnt ask for more from a pet store!
