Let me be the first to tell you that these people are wonderful. I was in a financial crisis and my dogs were sick. I had no money at all in fact I was staying in a shelter and my dogs were being cared for by strangers. My dogs are my babies. And my assistants in life. They are service dogs. And without them I probably would be unable to live independently. And they are also the only family or friends I have. They eat before I do. They are warm and safe before I am. I went into PetSmart to talk to anyone that may be able to help my dogs at Banfield Veterinary Clinic. This is the name of the Vet located inside if PetSmart. I got more than I could have ever expected. Volunteers with the adoption center bought me ground beef and rice for my dogs to eat until someone would be able to go out of their way to bring me prescription dog food that I could never afford. And not just one little bag. A medium sized bag and a whole case of the canned version. They told me where I could get free dog food, and were genuinely concerned about my babies. And Banfield Veterinary clinic told me about a program they have that will make sure my dogs are healthy, vaccinated and this gave me the ability to license them as service dogs. I did not pay for one thing. Next we are getting spayed. But most people dont know that these programs exist. And unfortunately they are faced with having to give up the furry little ones they love so dearly. These animals may be the only form of companionship or family they have. Without their employees informing people like myself about this, the situation i was in would have become unbearable. I thank everyone that helped me keep my service dogs. They gave me a second chance at living my life independently.

The team here is amazing but their most valuable asset is Nasim Mirhadi. I have been going to this store for years and she more often than not is there and checks me out. As a consumer of very high standards I am amazed by her. I have managed people for over 30 years and never see anyone like her. Without fail if Nasim isnt talking to a customer at check out she greats me as I come in the door. She always ask if found everything ok. She goes so far as to ask if its okay to mix up the flavors I neatly sorted when she puts them in the packing for me to take home. I observed her being very patient, kind and very aware when she offered to help the elderly woman in front of me that couldnt see well enough to enter info on the checkout keypad. The second more than 2 customers are in her line she calls for back up at the registers. Who does that anymore! I am likely not expressing it well but want everyone to know she has strong awareness and intuition regarding her surroundings which results in superb customer service. Because of her I will go out of my way to shop there. Go Nsaim and to her mom, you did a great job raising her.

Delighted Day
Just bought 2 bala sharks and 4 male guppies, 2 male guppies on 9/13/16. I aready have a bala shark from petco, it is smaller than from petsmart but after put 2 new petsmart bala shark around 5 pm, one the big bala shark I just bought dead around midnight! Another tank, which I have the water checked on the same day purchasing fish, and the result is good no problem, after put guppies in only about 4 hours the first male guppy dead, then one hour later another male guppy dead, then this morning (9/15/16) the female guppy dead, (dead 3 from 6) then just now another male guppy start to float upside down alternate trying to swim, I hope the looking only last 2 guppies will survive. To be honest, I did get a great deal fish tank &stand here (better price shown in petco), blackground and decors, But if you need live fish I would go to petco, I felt petco price is a little higher but for some reasons their fish is survive. It hurt to see fish dead, they are my pets, and also work to clean up.

I cant rate the grooming because I have yet to actually go through with it. I call about once a year, maybe more often, and try to get an appointment (theyre really close to my house). Once theyre done acting like its the worst hardship in the world to determine if they have an opening, theyre generally rude and never have time same day, no matter what time I call. Today they left me on hold, I got transferred to the front person who was rude and acted like giving me her name was an act of congress, then back to the grooming who asked several questions only to end with "no time today". Over 10 mintes of my time to tell me no. Thats it, Im finished, not even trying again. Too frustrated by every experience calling to even get in and decide if they do a half way decent grooming job. Let me step back and say that when I call, Im expecting rudeness, which may overshadow what I hear, Ive just never gotten anything but attitude from them.

They sell dented canned food because, according to the store manger, its part of its loss prevention program. According to the same manager, you could smell the dog food if it was spoiled. Obviously, he has no understanding of what causes food poisoning. The cashiers dont ring up each item, but will scan one item and put in the quantity without noticing that all the items are not the same. It may be the same brand, but not the same item. If the manager is worried about loss control, he should focus on the cashiers. The cashiers are also slow. They handle everything twice. The first time to scan and count as they pile the items around the scanner. Then a second time to bag the items. Even though I had a prescription for one year from my vet, the vet staff at there will only issue me a card to buy prescription food for six months. The only redeeming quality is that the store is near my workplace.

This review is in regards to the grooming department, I have had no problems with any other area of this store. I made an appointment to bring my shih tzu in for a groom last week. Well today, 30 minutes before my scheduled appointment time I received a call from a very rude woman. She informed me they would be unable to groom my dog today because they were overbooked. She then informed they wouldnt be able to fit my dog in this weekend because, "it would be too stressful for an old dog." My dog is 12, shes small, shes been groomed every 6-8 weeks her entire life, I dont think it would be too stressful for her at all. Shes a working therapy dog, very mellow. If the environment there is that stressful, maybe they need to rethink the way they approach dog grooming. I am so disappointed in the poor service I received today. I will never be taking any of my dogs back to this location for grooming.
