So today I went to The Motorcycle Shop today on Austin Highway and was asking them about why my 650 Yamaha V-Star was bogging out.I am a daily rider and was dreading having my bike in the shop for any extended period of time. Most of the major shops in town will not work on bikes over 10 years old which is crap in my opinion.Jason, after asking a few questions and looking at my bike. said worst case scenario was my carburetors needed work and it would be about $220 apiece for labor..Seeings how my bike had 2 of them it would have been about $450 total for that service. He then said hang on a minute please and walked back into the shop area. When he came back he asked how long it had been since I changed my spark plugs, I told him I wasnt sure, but at least a year. He suggested before they serviced it I should replace the plugs and see if the problem persisted. So only $10 dollars later I changed out the spark plugs and the bike ran freaking awesome. I will be forever indebted to this shop and will not take my bike anywhere else in town to be worked on in the future as The Motorcycle Shop cares more about customer satisfaction than padding a service bill for services not needed. Props to the Owner for enabling the employees to ensure customer satisfaction:) Thank you guys and in the future I will recommend you to my friends. Sincerely, Scott DeMarco

I live in Houston and bought a new Vespa from the local dealer for my wife. A couple of weeks after that purchase, we decided to get another one for me. We didnt want to buy from the same dealer so I began calling Austin and San Antonio Vespa locations. Nothing against the shop in Austin but Jason spent a lot of time on the phone with me answering questions, providing information on other scooter choices etc. We gave it some thought and decided that although the drive was a PITA, we wanted to do business with these guys. I asked them to have ALL paperwork completed so I could stop in, complete the transaction and get back on the road to Houston as quickly as possible. That is exactly what they did. Could not be more pleased about doing business with them. I didnt get a chance to meet the owner (Jason) but Collin (sp?) was a super nice guy and got me in and out of the shop quickly. I regret not buying our first scooter from them.

Friendly and skilled. Helped inspect and go over my Shadow, changed oil, lubed cables quickly. Answers questions without being rushed. Hooked me up with a sweet helmet. My go to shop for now on. Update: 8/24/16. Had the Shop do some more work on my beloved bike. New tires, new chain, new sprockets, general look over. Again, really good service. Thorough and extremely fair price. I wish I had more work for these guys. I bought my first bike from The Motorcycle Shop back in 88/89 and was extremely satisfied then. As far as Im concerned the tradition lives on nicely and San Antonio is lucky these guys are still around. I once took my other bike to another shop for some clutch cable/lever work done and had to endure crotchety attitudes for riding a metric. That shop is long gone now for good reason and Ive learned my lesson. Just go there. Stop wasting your time and get it done right at a the Shop!

Avoid this place at all costs. There was a time that i refered people here but its been on a steady decline for years. They left a spacer off my motorcyle and when I came back to complain they denied that they even had the bike or any record of it. I had them double check some work I did myself because it wasnt lining up right and apparently instead of taking off the tire and checking it they just tightened the bolts and sent me on my way. Without the spacer my bearings were ruined which could have resulted in my bike locking up on the highway. Even after I brought my bank statement showing they worked on it. The owner was totally unapologetic and rude. He even had the audacity to say I should learn to do work on my motorcycle myself. I told him I would never come back and he said good I dont want you to.

I purchased my Stella here back in 2005. Ive put over 24k miles on it, and just LOVE to ride. The great folks at the motorcycle shop keep it running in tip top shape. To the poster who was upset about them being shorthanded. This is not a PepBoys. The folks at the motorcycle shop cant help it when 10 people show up at shop open, and all want quick service. Ive been there when they could do a tune up for me while I waited, and Ive sometimes had to leave my ride for a few days. All you have to do is call them and they will let you know if there is a backlog. You can plan your service with them, and they do deliver when they say they will!

Do NOT go here. They rip you off at every opportunity. I took my motorcycle to get new tires put on (which I had already purchased elsewhere). They told me it would be 1 day to put them on..... and then told me it was $65 PER TIRE to install them. Then I received a call from them informing me that they had broken my brake cable and it had to be ordered. TWELVE DAYS LATER, after they ordered the incorrect cable and had to reorder the correct one, I received a bill for the tires, the cable, and the labor to install the cable THEY BROKE! I find this to be horrendous customer service, and wont be returning.

Im taking a moment to write a review of this shop because they well deserve it! Went in to buy my first new Buddy 50 a few days ago and found the process to be incredibly easy and fulfilling. Everyone was EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable. i never felt like i was bothering anyone and everyone was eager to share what they know and help me make the right purchase for me. I LOVE that it is a family owned business. I can tell everyone loves what they do and i felt incredibly comfortable there. I wish they the best of luck in their business and I will come back to purchase a scooter for my boyfriend soon!

When my wife and I decided to get a vespa for around town I was pleased to find a shop that was an authorized vespa dealer near me. I really didnt know a lot about bikes at the time but the employees were very helpful and informed me of the different displacements and what I should look for in a new bike/scooter. I got a primavera 150 from them and have loved it ever since. They continue to help me every time I visit the shop with a question or concern about my vespa. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a scooter (they also have some sweet used motorcycles if your in the market).

I visited The Motorcycle Shop a few times before I was ready to buy my scooter. Each time the guys there answered every one of my questions and addressed all of my concerns. When it came time for my purchase, they were super-fast, professional and friendly. Since then, they have continued the excellent service and friendliness. I LOVE that it is a family owned/operated shop. They truly take pride in what they do. I suggest to anyone pondering a scooter or motor bike give these guys a call. They are great.
