I wish my review for this dealer could be anything higher than one star but it sadly cannot. The staff and team here needs to understand that lying and deceiving your customer can only go so far. As a friendly reminder, I am dealing with Manahawkin Kia from Los Angeles, California. Basically entirely across the country. I called into Manahawkin Kia regarding a vehicle they had listed over the weekend. When I first inquired about it (one hour within it being posted) I was told that they cannot take any deposit on the car as it did not go through safety inspection yet. I was told the car would be ready the following Monday. I called Manahawkin Kia on Monday morning (7/3/2017) and spoke with Gerry Langton. I told Gerry I would go ahead and purchase the car sight unseen (but asked for him to send me some photos) and how the process would work. He informed me that he would go ahead and send the photos and send me a purchase order to finalize the transaction and send funds. I waited two hours with no response only to find out he left for the day when I called back and spoke with the receptionist. I received an email from Ashley Belowski over the weekend so I went ahead and emailed her back. We exchanged a few emails and her last correspondence asked if Gerry sent over the photos and/or docs. I called back again and explained my situation. This time, a sales representative named Jeff Smit Jr assisted me. He sent over the photos promptly, we chatted about the price briefly and I agreed to the full asking price plus documentation fees. I asked how to proceed and he couldnt give me a clear cut answer. I asked for wiring instructions and/or to charge whatever they could on my credit card to secure the car and get the purchase order started. Jeff told me because he was new he didnt know how this process worked. He said he would have a manager get back to me. Hours went by without an update and I reached out only to find out he didnt reach out to anyone. Jeff advised that I should fly in on Wednesday morning and see if the car is still here....Im going to be honest, who in their right mind would do that. I spoke with someone else who advised me that I should speak with Blaise Scibetta. I get transferred to his line only to find out once again from the receptionist he left for the day. Left a message with the receptionist at the Jeep building where Blaise works to have the only available manager (Adam Klimas) call me back. Surprisingly I didnt get a call back from Adam either, only from the receptionist telling me that the car is now sold. I texted Jeff the following day (7/4/2017) to see if the car was sold and he said it was not. Whatever games this dealership plays, youve been forewarned. Ive received 2-3 calls since from their dealership employees asking if Im interested in purchasing totally alternative cars than the one Ive inquired about. If the car truly is sold, these dealership employees dropped the ball as I inquired first thing Monday morning and asked to have the process started and funds would be sent within the hour. Due to privacy reasons, I cannot post messages exchanged publicly but will privately message transcripts and screenshots of emails and text messages exchanged for those curious. Thanks again Manahawkin Team!

My name is Amy Sherman (not Carl Manfra) I have recently purchased a brand new 2013 KIA Optima and i feel I am the happiest customer on the planet right now. Now ever since the optimas came out i wanted one. At the time i had purchased a car from a family friend thought i was was getting a great deal but was screwed over big time. To think about trading in my car and dealing with another salesman definitly put a bad taste in my mouth until i entered Manahawkin Kia . I walked into the show room and was greeted by Kenny Scalia with a big smile and firm hand shake. i explained my financial situation and he reassured me that everything would be fine and he was very confident her would get me into the car i wanted, which was very reassuring. He listened to my needs about payment , took me threw a tour of the lot found the car i wanted worked the numbers that i needed and with in the hour I had the keys to my brand new Optima. He went over every single piece of paperwork i was signing, in detail so I understood it all which was very reassuring. He let me drive car over to service and showed me the service area and explained my car was covered so I was maintainence free, which is great. He also signed me up for a protection package incase any scratches or anything cosmetically happens its covered for an extra $10 dollars a months which you cat beat that. Kenny also showed me how every buttons works in the car, hooked up my hands free blue tooth to my phone which is my favorite option in the car. He filled the gas tank at no charge for me as well. Kenny gave me his personal number and stated, " if you have any questions about anything to please not to hesitate to call him or stop in to the dealership and gave me his hours," which is very reassuring again after the last sales man told me that then changed his number ...go figure. I recieved a letter in the mail yesterday from Kenny personally thanking me for my business and he would keep in touch to make sure I am conpletely satisfied with my service that i received at the dealership. I would recommend Kenny Scalia to anyone looking for a new car and especially a Kia. I feel i got the best car for the money and am very proud to drive it. I amd getting remarks such as " i cant believe its a Kia, Its beautiful! Thank you Kenny Scalia again for making me a very happy customer ... Your Awesome!!

Ken Scalia was very very patient with us. My wife does a lot of homework when purchasing a new vehicle, we had visited Toyota, Hyundai, Mazda, Ford, Dodge, Nissan and Kia. We were looking for a 2014 SUV. This took about 3 months. We must of stopped to see Mr. Scalia at Kia in Manahawkin about 10 times, driving different cars and sitting down with him about prices, etc. He was very knowlegable about all the cars features and if he didnt know an answe, he went into the office and came back out with the answer. Mr Scalia never pushed himself on us in a way that would of not had us come back, he was very patient and respectful. He ordered a specific car (Kia Sorento top of the line model) and when it finally came in it had a different color interior and my wife did not want it. Mr. Scalia was kind enough to call around and look for that specific vehicle that she wanted, but it was not in stock yet . On April 13, 2012 at 5:00 pm we went to look at the vehicle that he ordered, which only came with black interior and my wife wanted gray. After driving the vehicle and opening the sun roof and finding out that the dashboard (from Ken) was black in all the Kia models, I finally explained to my wife that this particular car, model that she wanted only came in black or other colors that she didnt want. When I opened the full sun roof she saw the difference that she was looking for, that open feeling and not feeling squeezed into the vehicle. We purchased the vehicle and everyone, especially Mr. Scalia was extremly helpful. They close on Saturdays at 6:00 pm and stayed later to make sure we had the car detailed and had all the paperwork signed. Mr. Scalia should be recognized at your dealership and given some type of recognition/raise for his efforts. We enjoyed talking to him he made our car buying experience a pleasure.
