My husband and I applied a year and a half ago. I just want potential customers to know that I really hope this place has improved since my last visit. This dealership, by far, has the worst customer service ever. RACIST is a word I will use to describe this place. We were looking for an SUV and at first, they were really nice and helpful. I fell in love with the Xterra. It gets really bizarre when the negotiations start. First, we are American citizens and newlyweds. We were both asked for our green cards. I thought at first they were joking. Nope. They were honestly asking for green cards. Repeatedly told them we were citizens, therefore, WE DO NOT have green cards. My husband had to leave for work so they said its ok to leave me because I am guaranteed approval. They had me there the entire day! The next day, they call me to let me know that I got approved. I arrived only to be told that I need to provide a green card to drive the vehicle away from their lot. Again, I reiterated numerous times that I do not have one because I am a citizen. They humiliated me in front of everyone! I have never felt discrimination until I stepped into this dealership. I am Asian with a Spanish last name. They said its because my last name is new and my maiden name is whats showing up under my social security number. I had just bought a NISSAN ALTIMA (from a different dealership) six months prior with my married name and did not have any trouble getting approved so I was very irked that this dealership insists on a green card. I was so DISGUSTED by this place that I cancelled the transaction. I bought a fully loaded Nissan Murano at a DIFFERENT dealership with no problem later that SAME WEEK. Bert Ogden Nissan on Jackson Rd should be ASHAMED of themselves for being RACIST!!!!! Do not discriminate. UPDATE: A day after I posted this, the new internet sales manager called and spoke to my husband. He said that she genuinely expressed regret over what happened. My husband told her that all we wanted was an apology. This is a huge improvement! I can now drive past this dealership without getting angry.

Jul 8 (2 days ago) To whom it may concern, I wanted to take a minute to let you know about the wonderful experience I had at your McAllen location. I have purchased several vehicles in my lifetime and usually dread the experience. Recently I had the experience of dealing with John Barraza at your Nissan dealership. He went above and beyond to provide us with outstanding customer service. My son who is 23 wanted to purchase a new vehicle. Being from Brownsville he had approached Charlie Clark Nissan in Brownsville. There he was treated with the most unprofessional sales team I have ever dealt with. This includes the General Manager who I could never get to return my phone calls. We then approached their Harlingen location and had the same experience. I will never step foot on one of their locations again. I decided to call a dealership in the upper valley. Thats where I had the pleasure of receiving a return phone call from John. My son was in the market for a small inexpensive Nissan Versa. Surprisingly John took control of the sales opportunity and was hands on throughout the transaction. This was quite surprising since this was not a high dollar vehicle and I would assume would have a small profit margin. This was not important to John. I believe John saw the opportunity to make sure an unhappy customer was treated fairly and gain a new customer....I can tell you he did with flying colors. Bert Ogden is quite fortunate to have this type of individual working for them. Whether or not this is typical of the type of service at your dealership I cant say since this was the first time I dealt with Bert Ogden. I can tell you that it made quite an impression and I will make sure to let everyone I know about this experience. Thank You, Robert Bennett

Sales people are nice because they are selling but once its sold and you have issues their customer service sucks. ESPECIALLY THEIR MANAGER. HES AN IDIOT WHO JUST LAUGHS AND KNOWS NOTHING. I had leased a car from them a little over two years ago. my car was fine until on the second year the airbag light kept coming on, so I took it during my oil change so they could fix it. They said it was fixed but when I got in the light was still on. They told me it couldnt be fixed that day because they didnt have time and that i would have to take it really early in the morning. So I did. It wasnt fixed. For almost a year it was the same story I would take it in every month and nothing. They would give me a million excuses for why it wasnt fixed. Finally I had it I spoke to the manager to see how I could get out of the lease and he told me to ask the sales manager. The sales manager said I couldnt do anything but get another lease or try to get it fixed again. I got so frustrated and mad, but I tried once more and they told me I had to leave it for a few days. I go to work and school so I couldnt afford to be without a car so they sent me to enterprise on their behalf to get a car on their expense. My car was in the shop for one week when I finally picked it up the light was still on and my radio was broken. Now I had it. I loved my car but I had to get another so I decided to go with another lease since buying obviously wasnt convenient with them. Three months later Im being charged by enterprise because Bert Ogden Nissan refuses to pay. And the manager from nissan is telling me that the shop manager didnt put it in the system so they cant do anything but talk to a higher manager. Now Im out of 140 dlrs and about to raise hell with bert ogden.

General Manager, Mr. J. Baraza was the first person who helped me. I gave him the numbers i was interested in and the vehicles. He searched for them and told me what were my options from there. He was very courteous and polite. When i was helped by salesman, Mr. C. Manzano, is when things went south. I almost didnt want to purchase a vehicle any longer. He got my info on what I wanted. From there he showed only 1 vehicle to me. He drove it around then let me drive it. We drove about 1 itty bitty block. I have gone to other places before, car sales people are suppose to SELL the car, make it desirable. This man did not show me any car features, nothing. We went to office, he gave me the amount of purchase which was $1000 more from what Mr. J. Baraza personally had informed me. His answer for everything was , I dunno. I was very frustrated. i asked him how was my credit check going... I dunno. whats the payment on truck... I dunno. I loved the vehicle nonetheless. Until sale was practically finalized with Mr. S. Balderas in Accounting Dept. is when i recieved answers. He was so courteous, very well informed, very professional and very down-to-earth. Until I saw him is when i found out anything of importance. He explained all the numbers. I believe a lot of what he informed me about shouldve been told to me before i was sitting with accounting finalizing sale. But i was very satisfied with the price, payments and bonuses given with sale. The behavior of Mr. J. Baraza and Mr. S. Balderas and my awesome new nissan truck make up tremendously for the poor behavior of the other person.
