I called the bookstore looking for a textbook I need next week. The young lady on the phone said yes we have it, but theres only one left. Knowing that my entire class is also looking to get this book I decide to drop everything Im doing to drive to EMU to get this book. Its 9 in the morning so I have to fight some campus traffic but knowing that my 25 minute drive will be rewarded with the last copy of my textbook will be worth it, I continue driving. I get to the bookstore and check the shelves and see its not there. Now Im a little concerned. I ask the Textbook counter lady for help finding it and she says that it hasnt been ordered in a year and it likely wasnt going to be ordered any time soon. So I ask the front counter to look it up in the system and they tell me that theres been nothing ordered for my class. But these were the same people who told me to come in because there was one last copy left? How does that make any sense? If there was not my book in stock why did they tell me there was? I asked them these questions and they said.. well if its not on the shelves we dont have it. So I drove home and thus wasted an entire hour (plus) of my life driving back and forth, wasting gas, not finding a book that I need for next week, and being told by employees well if its not on the shelf its not our fault its not there EVEN THOUGH THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THERE and not only that but there was just one left! Making me drop everything to hurry to campus. Im just annoyed that I drove 50 minutes back and forth for nothing and that the employees wouldnt apologize for their mistakes. I understand that people make mistakes, Im forgiving. But no one owned up to it. Just awful customer service and I hope I never have to come back to the bookstore again.

Ive gone to Eastern for 3 years now and have never gotten books from the bookstore on campus until this semester. Upon receiving my rental book, the corner of the cover was torn off which posed to issue as you were still able to read the content so I thought nothing of it. When I went to the bookstore to return the book, the employee told me she could not accept the book for a return so she went and got the manager. After I explained the situation, the manager chose to talk down to me with all the other employees surrounding us, and told me they could not accept the book because she wouldnt put a book like that on the shelf but obviously she is not the only one with that job. She never once apologized for the inconvenience, and left me with the only option of paying $45 dollars in addition to what I already paid to rent the book, or I would be charged full price for the book new later in the week. Despite her acknowledging that I very well could have received the book that way, she told me to be more picky when renting from them even though no one is made aware to be picky in the first place. There is no system to log damage on the books you rent to avoid issues like this, and the management doesnt care. The only thing I learned is to rent elsewhere in the future.

They were helpful in exchanging my books for proper WCC courses & even buying them back!

Too expensive. Items are marked up way too high just because it is a college campus.
