I had been here before it was under new management and my prior experience was great. Great food & coffee. Tonight I returned and every part of the experience was awful. First of all, I wanted to order a savory crepe but I was told by the owner that they were not making them tonight, only sweet crepes. So I decided to order a crepe with Nutella, strawberry and banana and a mocha with almond milk. I had to pay $1 more for this than if I had ordered just Nutella & strawberry or Nutella. Upon getting my crepe with almost exclusively banana in it, minimal Nutella to the point that I couldnt taste it, and no strawberry ($1 wasted) I told the girl who took our order when she brought out the drinks and she did offer to have this made again, to which I said no because I had zero trust it would be done right the second time. Now the Mocha was not a Mocha, it was a warm almond milk with chocolate syrup (not sauce, big difference) that sunk to the bottom. I told the owner who was on the bar and I couldnt understand him, but he remade the drink as I asked. However it took a very long time. I would have loved to continue to visit here but I dont think Ill be back after tonight.

Waited about 30-45 minutes for three crepes and did not have half the things on the menu then when my food came there was a hair in it and the girl cooking rolled her eyes right in front of me. She swore and kept saying how pissed she was just because she had to make another crepe. I politely said there is a hair in my food would it be possible to make a new one? And they were extremley rude about taking it back. They brought my friends food out and she ordered Nutella strawberry banana and the girl brings it out and says VERY RUDLY "oh yeah there is no strawberry" then walked away. AGAIN THEY DIDNT HAVE HALF OF THE THINGS ON THEIR MENU. I dont like complaining about things like that because I work in customer service too! But, that may have been the worst expierence Ive had at a restaurant in a while! It was a cute setting and idea with books and restaurant but just not so great employees.

I and a friend stopped in here for a study session and for some coffee on a Sunday afternoon. The staff were friendly and prompt and very helpful in selecting a drink. We both had coffee, which was delicious and a couple of cookies which were good. The atmosphere is casual with a small selection of books to shop through. There were a number of other people there but a lot of tables (an issue in other coffee shops weve been to) and we had a very nice time. They did happen to mention that they were under new ownership, with many changes to come. I would definitely say give this another chance if you have had a bad experience in the past.

Our food was not as described on the menu, and after complaining, my wife was told the mistake was hers, even though what they prepared was not what she had ordered. Also, we were told it was a full service resturant before seating, but the host had to come back to tell us we had to return to the counter to order. The latte was so foamy it should have been called a cappuccino, and the espresso machine was a nespresso which produced watery drinks, not what youd expect at a coffee place. Overall, very poor showing, and not up to the standard we expected for the price they charge.

Dear owner.. First I will say you have a great location and very great vibe in your cafe, however being involved in running local family businesses for decades have given me a great deal of experience. Your wait time for coffee and food stands to be unreasonable. I went in for a latte and crepe that was going to take 30-40 min and I had no idea until she rang me up. I had to get my money back. I highly suggest you add more staff or reorganize how to get people in and out within 5-10 mins and give top customer service.. That is also what draws people back.. How they are treated...

I went there with a few friends and it was a fantastic experience! The people there were so nice and there are books everywhere. The food was phenomenal, it did take a bit for some things to come out like their paninis but I wouldnt expect any different, this isnt a fast food place. They have outdoor and indoor seating and a little play room in the basement for children, along with tables and chairs do you can sit and eat while keeping an eye on your little one. I highly recommend this place if youre into cozy little coffee shops and nice people all around.

Worst place ever! The food is not that good and customer service is horrible! Every time I go and visit, the staff is always out of items. I will not be going there anymore. I dont know how that place is still open. The owner is never around when needed and seems like as if he cares. Today as I tried to go and buy a nutella crepe, Rebecca (I believe that was her name) was so snotty and rude to me stating that they are low on berries and almost out of everything. This place will never see my face again.

Had a poor experience and dont plan on coming back. I placed an order for two coffees and a crepe and it was like I was ordering something ultra especial that didnt exist in the menu. My order of drinks were one mocha and one cappuccino. The drinks were watery to the extreme. The mocha tasted like sugar mixed with water. The cups werent very clean, staff was rude when I requested to be served on real cups instead of paper cups. Great location and ambiance but they have a long way to go.

I was excited for the rebrand when I heard that The Next Chapter was under new management. In all honesty, Im kinda disappointed. The European Bistro decor and theme are nice, but the illusion quickly fades when you see that for all intents and purposes, the coffee is prepared much in the same way that I do with my Keurig at home: packet coffee. At over $4.50 for a 16oz. cup, its a disappointment to see no actual craft or artisanship go into the beverages served. Do not recommend.

This is a great place to get together with friends or by yourself. The staff is great and very helpful. The drink menu is awesome and there are a lot of great options. Prices are reasonable and definitely cheaper than Starbucks. The baked goods are fresh and taste great! The bookstore was small but had a great selection and if theres a book you want but not in stock, they will order it for you! I enjoyed my visit thoroughly and plan on making it a routine!

First time going since new ownership. Theyve given it a bit more of a European bistro feel and the new owners being French makes the change make sense. We only got a couple of lattes but they were extremely disappointing. Very watery and off tasting. The food they had looked good and service wasnt bad. The coffee before the new ownership was good but with all the other options around for coffee drinks I cant find a reason to come back except for a crepe.
