The only reason I did not give five stars was because of poor customer service at their cafe. The bookstore itself was spacious and had a wide selection to browse. There arent any bookstores left in my area, so I had to drive half an hour to this location. I turned too soon and ended up walking partway (luckily the Ford place next to it has lots of lights). I had a good experience in the bookstore and, while I did not find the book I was looking for, I had a good time looking at all of the different options. I used to work in customer service and can in full confidence say that the staff members behind the service desk were excellent. One barista I ran into gave me directions through the store and was very helpful and amiable. The second I came across was the cashier, who charged me $11.77 for a caprese sandwich and hot tea. After she handed the receipt to me, I looked at it and noticed I was charged $4.15 for tea when the menu said it was $2 and some change. I tried to clarify that I wanted plain hot tea and not some fancy $5 concoction, but the second barista cut in and spoke in a rude/accusatory tone, saying that they were "not Starbucks" (though I never mentioned them) and that they didnt have the plain hot tea I wanted and only made it with milk and stuff. I was baffled and stunned into silence by her explosive tone. The cashier tried to cut in, maybe to diffuse the situation or clarify, but the woman making the drinks was adamant that she finish her rant. In the end, I took my sugary tea and sandwich and went to eat in my car because I no longer felt comfortable in the cafe. In hindsight, I should have gone back to the customer service desk, but I had a long drive and didnt feel like sticking around after that sour experience.

Going to Barnes and Noble, specifically this one is the thing I miss most about having an eReader as my primary reading media for the last 5 years. I still find myself in the store every now and then for gifts, or just because. This Barnes and Noble is the only one in the area that has a used used book section in the area, and they used books are usually in great condition. This is by far hands down, the best Barnes and Noble Ive ever been to!

Another run down barnes & noble in Detroit, do not go if youre planning on using their cafe area to do work as the wifi is awful, keeps dropping out, and the only outlets are in the back corner of the store where youre only allowed to place your devices on a ledge. You cannot use them while charging. There are literally no other outlets throughout the entire store.

Very clean, store seems to have anything you could want relating to their specialties. Ive needed help a few times finding things and everyone happily helps, my sons love coming here to pick out new books, my toddler especially loves playing with the train set in the kids zone bring the kids down keep them off the screens and bury their nose in a book!

I love, love, love this bookstore! It is really sad bookstores are a dying industry. There is something about the atmosphere and getting a new book that I just love. Great staff! Clean and open store. Plus coffee is available which is always a bonus. Get out and support this bookstore. I hope it stays open for years to come! Thanks Barnes and Noble!

Its B&N, what more can I say? Staff is friendly and helpful, the store is clean, and there is a sitting area with chairs, tables, and wall plugs for charging. I think this location in particular gets a fifth star because it is one of the few that has a very sizeable used book section. Ive found several gems in there and its always worth perusing.

I went here for the midnight release of the new Harry Potter book. The place was packed with fans, some of them even cosplayed. This bookstore put on a really cool event. It also has everything from coloring books to manga to kids puzzles to puppets to reference books. Theres clearance and sales sections. Good pricing on books.

Like other B&N locations, the selection of books is good. This location also has a sizable section of used books, and good amount of other non-book items like puzzles and games. Note that turning left out of the parking lot is very challenging because Rochester Road is so busy and theres no signal for their lot.

Ive been a fan of this particular Barnes & Noble for many years. I dont even live in the area anymore, but I always make a stop here when Im back to visit. The used book section is awesome, and I just like the feel of the store. In many ways, its just a standard B&N; but I really like it.

Classic old school book store with a fantastic selection of on-site books, music, basic games, and kids selections. Theres a dedicated Quiet Area for undisturbed reading and contemplation. And the Food Court has a good selection. I ❤ book stores. Long live Barnes & Noble.

Great Book store. Nice used book section. Staff is available and knowledgeable. Wide open and spacious. Wi-fi can be spotty in places but its free. Music and movie selection is one of the biggest in Michigan. I miss Borders on Woodward but this is what we have now.

They have a great selection of books. And their staff here is some of the nicest employees compared to most other Barnes and Noble around here. But their prices are still quite high. You can get most book offline for at lest $10+ cheaper then in store.

I love how it has the used book section. I like getting used books more than new because of the price difference, but their used books are almost like new. Looking for a good bookstore or a certain book? Make sure to check Barnes & Noble.

The magazine selection is fairly large, especially for guitar magazines. The facility is always clean though a little sterile feeling and everything is well organized. I have always found the staff to be helpful and respectful.

The store looks compact from the outside but its deeper than it looks! In the rear youll find a used book section. They also have an area dedicated to events. I will come back again just for the used book section.

Barnes & Noble will bring you the world if you just explore it. The selection is great with just about every category you can think of. You owe it to yourself, if youre a thinker, to come and explore.

Huge Barnes and Noble, however they didnt have as much product as some of their other stores. Getting into their parking lot was a pain and their layout is confusing since it is unlike other b&n.

Books...books...books & Coffee! You can stay here all day & enjoy yourself. Staff is always helpful. Did I mention Air conditioning? Starbucks inside ..they only accept Barnes & Noble cards.
