I visited this dealership on a whim, and it was definitely the right decision. Brandon and Ana were terrific! Here is how my experience played out: I went into this lot at about 7:00PM on a Friday. Wanting to avoid the stereotypical pushy sales people generally associated with used car lots, I circled the lot to see if anything even caught my eye before getting out of the vehicle. I saw a truck I liked and decided to try my luck. I made my way around the truck a couple times before Brandon (the salesman) approached me. He was very relaxed and polite; he made me feel comfortable right away. I could tell the experience was going to be positive by his demeanor, though I still had my doubts. I gave Brandon some basic criteria as to what I needed, and he immediately showed me a vehicle that fit, but I never had paid any attention to. (Ill admit now that I loved it within the first few minutes...it was immaculate, and fully loaded.) For good measure, I asked to look through a few other vehicles that matched the basic criteria of what I was looking for. Brandon remained patient throughout the whole visit. Towards the end of my visit, we began to discuss closing on the vehicle I liked...I told them I wasnt quite ready to pull the trigger, but I agreed to put a very small deposit down to hold the vehicle. The next day, I visited a couple of their sister locations to view their selection, but ultimately the best deal was where I started. I returned to see Brandon and we struck a deal. The whole "purchase" portion took about an hour, and was truly painless. Ana, the sales manager, was just as helpful and patient as Brandon. The Catch: On my drive home the vehicle indicated low tire pressure. Knowing that it had been cooling off at night and that this vehicle was in inventory, I dismissed any concern and concluded I would just add air when I got home. Unfortunately, the tire had a screw in it, creating a very slow leak. I immediately visited my local shop thinking I would just get a quick patch and be on my way, but they informed me the tire could not be patched and would need to be replaced. (ARGH!) Imagine my frustration. I took pause, and called Ana right away. I explained the issue and she immediately acknowledged this must have been a pre-existing condition and told me to get it to one of their authorized repair centers to have it corrected. Thats it. No argument. No "sorry Charlie, you signed the dotted line" like the horror stories Ive heard from other buyers experiences. I added some air twice throughout the weekend, and made an appointment for the following Tuesday. Ultimately, the tire was replaced, and I was only inconvenienced about 30 minutes or so of my day to drop it off, then pick it up later. The customer care and service here was absolutely amazing, and it continued even after I left their lot. Outstanding! This experience has changed my perspective of auto buying for sure. If youre ready to buy (but dont have the nearly impossible credit rating most dealers expect you to have these days to give you a good deal) get to DriveTime. Ask for Ana or Brandon!

Do not do it! You have other options! Our credit wasnt that great so we didnt feel we had any other choice but to go to DriveTime. Worst mistake ever! The people were friendly and the experience was pleasant but the car they sold us was a complete lemon. They also pressure you to write a review while youre still sitting with them completing the paperwork before youve had a chance to really drive your vehicle. You go through some basic little check before you drive it off the lot to make sure your blinkers and what not or working. Thats it. Within two weeks of us having our vehicle the oil light started dinging. Within the first hour of it dinging it went from it doing so just when the car was turned on to doing so every 30 seconds while the car was in motion. It had oil when we drove it off the lot so when we checked it and noticed it was low we decided it was best to just drive it back to DriveTime and ask if the car had existing problems with oil. They assured us it had not. So we added oil, the digging stopped and went about things as usual. A couple days later it started doing the dinging again, every 30 seconds. We brought it in again, this time they referred us to a mechanic they work with. The mechanic told us there was nothing wrong and just added oil. We brought the car home and a few days later the same thing with the oil light. We brought it back in, they referred us back to the mechanic. The same thing, told us there was nothing wrong and he just added oil. Finally, the third time we had to bring it in he acknowledged that there was a leak but it was only minor and he replaced the part and said it should be good. Now, it only requires no oil added monthly to compensate the burn off and requires 5 quarts before long trips smh To this day its still burns oil so quickly that the exhaust shoots out black smoke. Also, within the first few weeks of having the car the transmission started slipping. The horn also went out. And the door handle on the driver side broke. These are only a few of the more recognizable issues that occurred over the first few months of having the vehicle. There are also several minor ones that weve had to deal with. NONE of which DriveTime felt were their responsibility to fix even though it was quite obvious several were exsisting issues prior to us purchasing the car from them. All this being said… Do your research and try to find a more reputable dealership! There are places willing to work with bed credit that wont leave you upside down with a vehicle thats literally falling apart!

Drove all the way from Austin to get a car from these dudes. My credit is really, uh...not good, so I was trying to find a place that would verify a few specific things about the car before I made the journey down there. I was fortunate that Matt Hoskins answered the phone when I called. Aside from some fantastic customer service, he was kind enough to verify things like Bluetooth, the condition of the tires, stuff that would be a deal-breaker for me, and I really didnt want to waste a trip down there. So he checked it all out for me, and verified the basic financing numbers for me (I had previously applied online), before I made the trip from Austin to New Braunfels. Buying a used car with bad credit is what it is, but its nice to work with somebody who makes the process easy and maintains the high-quality service level throughout.

Literally drove from Houston to get a truck from here and they did not disappoint. Over a year later and I still remember the sales rep Barron. We had already gotten 2 drive time vehicles before, but this time the dealerships here in Houston were giving us the run around. Found a vehicle online that we liked at this location and called them up. They handled everything before we got there, and had the papers ready to sign when we walked in the door. The truck was better than expected from the pictures online. My only knock would be that its a smaller dealership and doesnt have the selection that one is used to being from Houston, but obviously its a much smaller market so thats to be expected. 20 stars. Will gladly drive here again for another purchase soon.
