I ended up walking away and feeling pressured to pay more money than I wanted. The slogan for Eastern Motors is your job is your credit. If this is so then why in world did I sit in the dealership for 2 hours while my credit was ran and was told I needed to come with 5000 for taxes, fees, and a my down payment. Which I said that I was paying no more than 500 down on a vehicle. I was never told how much I was approved for to buy a car. NO ONE checked out my trade-in to dictate what I would receive. NO ONE every asked what I wanted to spend on a car or how much I was willing to spend on a payment. I was told my credit score was low and I needed a lot more than 500 down on a car and my payments would between 700-800 dollars a month. Well duh!!!! If my job is my credit why would I be worried about a large down payment.I went in looking to buy a truck that was on sale for 27,000 and after the manager came over he was talking about selling me a car for 30-35,0000. Clearly not what I asked for or was looking to buy. I was told that I could only buy a new car because he couldnt find a bank to take my loan on a used car. If this wasnt my 4th car purchased in my life I would have fell for the total crap I was been feed. I have never been told I had to buy new because of a bank loan. Which again if my job is my credit wouldnt Eastern Motors have a loan company and depending on what my monthly salary is you would be able to sell me what you trust I can afford!!! I guess not! I think the most upsetting thing of it all was that because I do make a large monthly salary I felt I was targeted to pay more money. So, after talking with the Manager and he laid out all of his high numbers. He didnt seem interested in selling me a car or even trying to work out a deal. After telling him I wasnt paying 700-800 for a payment or putting more down than 500 dollars he became even more uninterested. SO I took my money, my current and future business to another dealership. I walked away with a BRAND NEW TRUCK that I picked out, paid 500 down payment, and Im paying the monthly payment I requested. So, how is that possible that I can go to another dealership with my SAME credit score and leave with the deal I requested. Needless to say I will NEVER recommend Eastern Motors or look to purchase a car from Eastern Motors. One good thing about Eastern Motors is the salesman Lamont. Really good guy and you should probably consider making him the Manager instead of the other guy. He was more willing to try and work out a deal and even came out to speak with me after a deal wasnt made. Lamont even contacted me by text to see if I interested in coming back, but by that time I already had purchased my truck from someone else.

Ricky Kinemore was an exceptionally nice salesperson who tried his best to get us any information we needed. We had found a car online and IMd with a rep about it. Since it was located in Manassas they would being it to Laurel for us to look at during a time setup by appt. When we arrived they had delivered the wrong car. Needless, to say we spent extra time filling out other forms and waiting during rush hour on a Thursday in DC for the car to come from Manassas VA to Laurel MD. Ricky, once again, was the only person that kept us in the building because of his effort to talk to us and make the time go quicker. They did work very hard on finding us the best payment plan and we ended up buying the car. We did have to bring it back the next day as asked to have it inspected in Maryland. Didnt expect it to take 2 hours to get a car inspected at a shop right down the street and temp tags. And, most dealers sell you a clean car with a full tank of gas. Guess a half clean car and a half tank of gas is what you get at Easterns. Would we go back to get another vehicle? Yes. But it would be on a day where time wasnt an issue. Which is a good thing because 5 days later, I have been told I have to go back to the dealer AGAIN. This time is because I used a credit card for part of the down payment which apparently is not allowed. Dont you think they wouldve thought to mention that when they swiped my credit card in the first place. We work 5 miles from the dealer but WE have to take the car to THEM for an engine service light which comes on each time we start the car. I am beginning to think this dealership is assuming we dont have a job and can come visit them anytime they need something. I wouldnt even be writing any of this if the whole process was more organized. But, now it is just becoming insanity driving back and forth for this and that. The only reason I am keeping a 3-star rating is because of Ricky our salesman who happens to be stuck in the middle.

"Mr Calm" I knew exactly what I wanted when I went to Easterns Automotive Group in Laurel. I had everything needed to buy a car, well almost. I was missing one important thing, "good credit". Chester did an excellent job in getting me financed. After waiting a few days for an answer from the bank, I was getting anxious. I missed a call from the bank and then it was phone tag. Finally, I the person answered only to say that she could not complete the last step with me because she was no longer in the office. I worried Chester and Ricky to death, I know I did but they remained cool. The next day Chester was off, so now Vinny gets to takeover the madness. Well finally I was told to come down to the dealership, which was kind of strange to me because I still had not talked to the person from the bank. But I was so excited I went to the dealership check and proof of insurance in hand, I was a little skeptical but more excited. Then here comes Ricky with bad news, they still had not received the green light from the bank. I was livid. I live a long ways from the dealership. I was so mean to Ricky. He admitted that it was his fault. I was still mean. Then Vinny came over I was mean to him too. I was trying to go visit my family my granddaughter and I was all packed luggage in the old car. Ricky was so apologetic. Just a real nice person. I felt so bad afterwards. He never raised his voice or got nasty with me and never showed me "attitude". He kept talking to me just like everything was ok just the epitome of professionalism, his calm calmed me sort of. Well here comes Vinny to save the day. I got my car it is so beautiful. I talked to the lady from the bank and I went home to Virginia and had a good time. Those folks at Easterns Automotive Group in Laurel is about the business of selling cars. You can go in there with foolishness if you want to, they will still sell you a car lol, and a nice one at that. I really appreciate them. Debra J.
