Recently I had to take my 2012 Polaris RZR in for repair at Dothan Powersports. I had purchased the vehicle from a dealer in Crawfordville Florida, but because I had moved to Georgia recently Dothan was a closer choice. To describe what happened to my 570, to the best of my ability was that it just stopped running and it would crank again. I know this is a simplified version but if I said anything else you would certainly find out I dont know anything about mechanics. As with anything else I started researching the vehicle on the internet in an effort to find out what may have went wrong with it, consumer reports etc; and I have to tell you I was distressed by what I was hearing people say . I know that you cant believe everything you read on the internet but with my defenses up and with some of the comments that were posted in reference to customer service at various locations I felt I was in for a battle. My fear was that I had made a $13000 purchase (with additions and tax) and would be stuck holding the bag. At which point I started contacting Jay Thrasher service manager at Dothan Powersport via email. I was expecting a attitude of indifference toward my vehicle,( not that the Dothan location warranted it), but because thats what I read, so I had all my papers in-line regarding extended warranty, and with the knowledge I had acquired from the internet I felt I was as ready as I could be. After a couple of emails from Jay I realized he and his store just wanted to see what was going on with the device and werent taking a "its yours now" stance and genuinely wanted to deliver the best service they could, without compromising contract agreements. I decided to call Jay and he explained the process and really changed my mindset on what I thought was going to be a "tug of war". Jay Thrasher demonstrated a very professional, thorough, and caring attitude, toward my concerns which brings me to this point. I would not hesitate to recommend Jay Thrasher or Dothan Powersports to anyone whos thinking about a purchase, or repair and will certainly make my next purchase from them due to the actions of Jay.

I came to the shop by way of a tow truck. as my battery died while in Fort Gaines Georgia. Here it is 7 pm on a friday night. the little but quaint town had no services for motorcycles. I called my insurance group. who got a flat bed to me. ( He drove 45 miles to come get me. ) we worked together on loading my bike and trailer. we tied it down, and off we went. the driver Christopher, was extremely careful with dumped and turns. (will review his services as well ). I was unloaded, on the side of a shop in Dothan Alabama. At 11 pm, I set up on cot tent next to my bike, and crawled in for a cool night. 51 degrees is down right freezing for a Florida Boy. I woke to a breezy overcast morning. The shop opened at 8 am. The service to the bike was prompt. The service tech, power shot the battery, and started it. rode it into the shop. Pulled the battery, and ran a test on the system. everything was good. I replaced the old OEM battery with a Gel-Battery. (The shop offered coffee and I offered a pecan Pie, Fresh from the Merritt Pecan Company of Weston Georgia) the Parts team & the Service department, enjoyed a slice of Pie with their morning cup of life. At night its impossible to see what the shop looked like. But after walking into the showroom. I was totally impressed with not only the size of the building, But how well maintained the floor was, ( not a speck of dust anywhere), the bikes were lined up, like a drill team line. from tall to short. the service team & parts team were all very well mannered, And a pleasure to communicate with. within a few hours. My Bike was waiting for me. I really didnt want to leave. The shop was very comfortable. I would have liked to walk around some more. but one issue was pressing me to leave. A cold front was starting to roll in. bringing temps down into the 30s by mid afternoon. I didnt have the right clothes to keep me warm. Ill be stopping in on future occasions, just to say Hi. If youre rich, like wasting money, or have low levels of intelligence, this is the place for you. Looking to buy a Polaris 570 ranger crew and these guys kept quoting me around $12k. Went to Shoals powersports and got the same utv for $9500 (brbrand new). Dying believe me, call and find out. When it came time to get serviced I didnt want to have to drive 5 hours though, so I checked locally at authorized Polaris centers for prices. This place wants $300+ for the 25 hour service, literally the simplest service that youll get in the lifetime of the vehicle. The three other locations within am hour of me wanted $120-175 for the EXACT same thing. I asked dothan ps why the huge price gap. The guy said, "well they dont do what we do." After getting the tech sheet for the 25 hour service from all locations involved, I can say they do in fact do what they do. These are facts people. Not my opinion. They overcharge by the THOUSANDS for their utvs and by HUNDREDS due for their service. Again, if you dont believe me, call around and see. If a few hundred doesnt matter to you, then hey, good for you.

They charge WAY to much for their parts and service. Service techs arent knowledgeable either. They turn around time for service is VERY SLOW! They rather fix somebodys crotch rocket or cruiser first than a dirt bike or four-wheeler. It doesnt matter if you was first in line either. The sales reps and parts counter works dont know much either. I can never get any help anytime I walk in these doors. Its funny cause they will knock a older person down to help them. I guess they think I dont have any money cause Im young. The jokes on powersports, though. The last time I went in there they refused to sale me a GSX-R 1000. They tried to sell me a 600, which isnt what I wanted. It was cool, though, cause I walked out and took my money elsewhere.

I had the same experience as Nate down below. I buy tires online at a much cheaper price than most dealers Ive dealt with in the past as well as have tires I use for racing. I just moved to the area and needed my tires changed so I called up the local dealership to see what they charge to mount and balance when I bring the wheels off the bike and hand carry tires. The service manager was very condescending while informing me that they dont mount tires they dont sell. He also went on to mention that they sell tires cheaper than anyone because "we get tires by the truckload". Needless to say, that one interaction with them is all they will get from me while Im living here.

Yesterday I took my 1st ATV into the shop for service work, while there we shopped around and Mark, our previous salesman, remembered us and showed us some current deals. Mark, just as before was NOT pushy but kind and courteous eager to answer our questions and ensure that we got into the right machine-again. we walked out with our second ATV. I dont want to forget the service shop- those guys were just a great, making sure they completely under stood our problem. I will do business again with these people as they are the best!! dont believe me, go see for yourself, you will not be disappointed.
