I do NOT recommend this PetCo location on Marketplace Blvd. in Nampa, Idaho. My dog acted up during a nail trim, they refused to continue and the groomer said "Just go get a refund, I dont work on dogs that try to bite. Were DONE here." I was standing there watching, trust me, the dog just growled at her. You would think a professional groomer deals with unruly dogs all the time and would know how to respond. My wife went to get a refund and the cashier resisted, the manager showed up and said we dont muzzle dogs, you wont find anyone else that will muzzle your dog so Im sorry we wont help you. She wouldnt make the groomer finish the job either. She did make the cashier give us a refund for 2 of the 3 dogs we brought in including the one that acted up. (Dog # 1 was just fine, they did just a fair job on his nails). What really made me angry was the groomer left one paw completely undone, they did not file down the nails as we requested and charged us the full $15. This is the second PetCo location that has provided poor service and attitude. I WILL NEVER GIVE PETCO MY BUSINESS EVER AGAIN for the way they treated my dog and for being rude to my wife. We took our dogs to the PetSmart just down the street in Nampa and they were fantastic and also $3 cheaper for a nail trim and filing the nails ($12 versus $15 for PetCo). PetSmart earned my business, PetCo lost it. End of comment.

Overall bad experiance. My wife and I went in to get some food for our cat. Out of the corner of her eye my wife saw an older cat in the adoption area. Our heart went out to her and after asking if they had information about how she did with other animals etc we decided to adopt and give her a home for her older years. We were concerned when 24 hours latter we had not seen her eat anything although she drank alot. Pulling out her adoption package we found out she had a respiratory infection (would have been nice to know about )as it can be contagious to other animals. So Petco said we needed to contact Pet Haven we tried calling them four two days no answer or callback. We now have had to take the cat to our vet to find out what treatment she should have been getting so we can get her healthy. Bottom line we told everyone at petco we had other animals and we should have been told up front the cat was ill. We would still have wanted to adopt her but after she was well and eating normally. Poor thing would not eat anything in the 48 hours it took to get in to our vet. Bad job all around

I want to thank petco again for going above and beyond the traffic was horrible today i got off work late, I was stuck in traffic for half hour,I wanted to do santa pictures for my pups. My boys really wanted to see him also. I called 5min before the event was over my son was scared/sad he was going to miss santa, i told them Ive been stuck in traffic for 20 minutes at the same spot and if Santa can wait they said they will try. Well we got there at 410 and santa was waiting on us. It made my oldest son the worlds happiest boy he is still talking about how Santa truly cares for him yall truly made my son day he feels so special THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

They act as if you are bothering them. Some of them treat you like you are dumb if you ask a question and pretend there smarter than anyone. I asked questions on saltwater and took the info they gave me to 3 other aquarium stores and all three said they were wrong and petco will tell you what you want to here to make a sale on a fish before it dies in there tank. I got premixed salt water at petco and took it to aquarium store and it tested bad. they guy at petco said it was R.O. water. Not even close! Liars and rude people!

NEVER buy a saltwater fish from these guys. Theyre setup is not good and both fish that I have purchased from there over two separate occasions have come to my clean, fresh tank with ich. One died, and now that I was stupid enough to try again, my second one is currently being treated. Im hoping to save him, but do yourself a favor and go to a reputable saltwater fish store.

Got there at 7:05 P.M. on a Sunday: Begged to be let in cause my guy had a eye irritation and needed meds very badly. THESE GUYS REOPENED THE STORE FOR ME EVEN THOUGH REGISTERS WERE DOWN AND TOOK CARE OF ME -- Great Customer Service A+++ After all night swathing the affected area, all is well now, Monday morning. Thank you Petco

I have photos I took in this place that shows it is like a live horror movie! Poor chameleons dying, because they dont have adequate heat! Evidently someone is not doing their job! If I go back in here and it is the same way, I will go off! Dead fish, dying fish, sick birds, and dying reptiles is just the beginning.

We went in just to look around and were appalled by the shape that place is in. The fish tanks were filthy. There were multiple dead fish in the tanks. There were also dead hamsters in the cages. This place needs to be reported. Its borderline animal abuse. Ill never take my daughter back in there.

The goldfish here at least last longer than those at Zamzows. The return policy here is better as well. But I can see what people mean about some not as good experiences. I saw four dead fish in one tank. I got four goldfish, three died as did the first one I got replaced.
