Trainer review: On a recommendation from a friend we brought our new puppy to be trained by Darris at Petco on Sports Arena Blvd in San Diego. Darris who is an animal behaviorist and dog trainer has been an absolute blessing to our dog, my wife and I. We brought our 3 month old, overly shy Maltipoo who would not listen at to us at all to Darris and we have seen a complete transformation in her behavior. Although we have always loved our dog she is much more enjoyable now that she is well behaved and knows the basic commands. Darris is also very skilled at teaching dog owners how to work with their pet. Darris loves dogs and dog training. Our dog has fun going to learn and so do we. We are going to continue training classes with Darris and strongly recommend him to anyone seeking a trainer for their dog.

Staff was terrible, I asked where something was and just got a finger in the air saying "its over there" One male employee was leaning on a shopping cart and slammed the front end of it down scaring my dog, causing her to run and hide behind me, then he came over without asking to pet my dog and putting his face in hers. I told him to get away from us, no apology from him. Totally clueless on how to act around animals. Not happy, makes me want to spend as little time in the store as possible.

Very helpful staff! I experienced first hand that the staff is well informed about caring for betta fish. The store is currently under renovation (but still open normal business hours!). I am excited to see what the new layout looks like! Definitely love these pet lovers!

I highly advise you not to buy any pet food here without looking at the expiration date first. Generally dry cat food is good for a long time, about a year or so. Well I made my purchase and realized today it expired two months ago. Thanks petco for the disgusting food.

Though there are plenty of products here the employees at the registers have made it clear how much they dont want to be working here. It is a bit disheartening to be ignored as the employees talk to each other about the poor management and how they cant wait to leave.

Friendly staff. Currently under construction. Great pet food selection. They have salmon oil, 3-4 brands. When the with Nutrivet. Could have a better selection of canine food supplements. A brand of liquid multivitamin to mix in with food would be nice.

Carries the foods my cat and dog eat, toys and accessories. Reptile, bird, fish and rodent supplies. Services like training, grooming, and an upcoming self service dog wash. Going to be a pretty nice store when theyre finished.

Newly remodeled and no help!!! Only one cashier and the rest of the employees worked in grooming. Maybe they were all out to lunch? I came for fish. That section is beautiful too bad no one actually worked on that department

Fish okay quality, staff unhelpful ever since having to yell out "can I get some help here" and watching employees hide yes hide in the isles almost a year ago we have tried to avoid going there cashiers nice though
