NO STARS!!!!! DO NOT EVER BUY A DOG HERE! 951 pups also known as Barkworks Riverside is a scam company. First of all the prices for these dogs are completely ridiculous! When I asked why the prices of these dogs were so high I was told that these dogs come with a health garnet, along with a free vet check up if you went within 15 days. This sounded reasonable as it is VERY important to me that a puppy be in a healthy state. I bought a small morkie puppy on Wednesday night, only 28 hours later my puppy was vomiting. Assuming that this young puppy was adjusting to his new environment and a slight change in diet I did not jump into a big panic about it. Slowly my puppy started to get worse and worse. By Sunday I was very scared! He was vomiting, had diarrhea and was extremely lethargic! I stayed up all night with him that night forcing him to drink water to stay hydrated. Early Monday morning I took him to the vet and found he had giardia! Giardia is a highly contagious parasite that can be spread to other pets and even people! After infection it takes 1 to 3 weeks for symptoms to appear. The vet INSISTED that the dog stay all day monday and overnight until 3 on tuesday afternoon. He told me had I not come in my puppy would have died. My poor puppy had to be put on several types of medication and an IV for 28 hours! I called the pet store to inform them how sick the puppy they sold me was and asked they refund me a partial amount of my money because the dog I had bought that came with a HEALTH GUARUNTEE was extremely sick and came close to death. They responded that giardia is not a life threatening issue and refused to give me any refund at all. They are now threatening to take me to court because I refuse to pay the rest of the money owed on the dog. TO PAY OVER A 1000 DOLLARS ON A SICK PUPPY IS ABSURD! The only reason the puppies are so expensive is because they supposedly come with a HEALTH GUARUNTEE!!!!! Hate this store and its owners!!! The other puppies that had been inclosed with my dog were still up for sale and the owners of this pet store showed no remorse for these poor sick babies.

If there were an option for negative stars this "company" would get a -10. I cant believe I had to give them a star. I recently rescued a 6 month old male Havanese from Barkworks at the Galleria in Riverside, Ca. I say rescue because I know this dog would not be living today otherwise. I happened upon this poor neglected puppy as he cowered in a small glass cage with another puppy. He was chewing on himself like crazy and I knew he was not OK. He was listed as on "sale" which is another word for sick. Originally priced at $1200, he was now "only $599". When I had him taken out of the cage the extent of his neglect was stomach turning. The matting was the worst I have EVER seen. The mats were pulling his skin so tight that he could not fully extend his legs and stand. He had horrible hairless red patches of skin on his hind legs and his skin was bright pink. His skin was also warm and sticky which screamed fungus infection to me. The poor little guys was raw. This was just scratching the surface. The "sales people" made it hard for me to get a really good look at him by not letting me hold him for very long and swore to me up and down that all their dogs are groomed. This was a bold face lie. Every time I brought up the problems that were clearly visible I was given the brush off and told he just needed to be shaved down and hed be fine. After seeing that they were not going to budge on the health issues, I focused my efforts on negotiating a price and finally got the puppy for $200. I took him straight to my vet where he was diagnosed with the following: *1. Giardia (An intestinal parasite present in unsanitary water) *2. Coccidia (An intestinal parasite present in unsanitary conditions) 3. Upper respitory infection 4. Double ear infections 5. Skin infection 6. Fungus/yeast infection on the skin *7. Sarcoptic mange *Numbers 1,2, and 7 are all highly contagious not only to other pets (like the ones he was with in the pet store) but humans too. My entire household including my two other dogs and my sisters two dogs all had to be treated. BUYER BEWARE!

Barkworks and many other "pet stores" are all selfish franchises that only care about one thing. MONEY. This place sells puppys who come from flea invested, sick, malnourished puppy mills. No self-respecting breeder would ever take the time to care for a puppy to sell it off to a company thatll keep it in a box until its sold for an overly RIDICULOUS price. I want to take a stand against these terrible businesses that claim they care so much for these dogs. People are finding diseases, cancer, and many other deformations in these so called "purebred" puppies that they spent so much money on. DONT SHOP ONLINE OR IN STORES FOR A PUPPY BECAUSE THAT MONEY GOES STRAIGHT TO THE "BREEDERS". ADOPT OR BUY PERSONALLY FROM BREEDERS WHO WILL WILLINGLY SHOW YOU THEIR BACKROUND AND HOME WHERE THE DOGS LIVE. Barkworks is a disgrace. I only ever step foot in that horrid place to look at the dogs that are constantly sleeping or just depressed and walking in circles. NO ANIMAL DESERVES THIS.

I recently purchased a pup from here. Obviously Ive read the reviews and seen other peoples complaints but my experience overall wasnt terrible. Belen and Jazmine were supper helpful and gave me all the time I needed to decided on my puppy. Jazmine let me play with the dog for quite some time while I decided if his personality fit mine, and Belen gave me all of the info I needed to make sure I had a no hassle transition. Jackson (my pup) did come home with a parasite but thanks to the health gaurantee, I took home to the vet and fixed home up before it was even a problem. No matter what, my husband and I love our puppy and wouldnt dream of another!

Interested in buying a dog, usually dont like these kind of stores but my daughter really liked a Husky they had. Asked to take it out to play with it and the employee said not unless your going to buy it today. This puppy was literally bouncing off the walls in the cage you would think they would want to let it out for a few minutes to play. Nope not unless I had $1900. So I asked if I buy it and take it home tonight, she then interrupted me and said even if you bought it you couldnt take it home tonight because it didnt have all its shots yet. Needles to say I said forget it and we left. They were just unfriendly and rude about the whole thing.

I went to Barkworks to purchace a dog with my family. The dog was overpriced to begin with but we agreed on the price and when I went to pay, the greedy sales associate told me if I wanted to buy the dog I HAD TO PURCHACE their food and their vitamins or I couldnt have the dog!!! I am a responsible pet owner and was disgusted that this kind of shady sales tactics are being used. When I told the sales person that I will never be back, she told me that 1 person will not ruin their business. I will never visit any Barkworks stores ever and I hope you dont either. DONT BE TRICKED BY THESE SCAMSTERS!!!!
