Clearly this new development - Costco and The Village - was designed by individuals who do not shop on a regular basis. The Costco store itself is very nice. Its new and clean although still a bit disorganized. The staff Ive encountered have been amazingly helpful even when admitting that they dont yet know where everything has been placed. Also items that Ive been purchasing for years dont seem to be in stock. Theyve only been open for about a month so Im sure those issues will improve. The Costco gas area is easy in and out from Victory or Owensmouth. There are usually people on duty to assist if any problems are encountered at the pumps. Not sure if I like the outdoor food court. When its 100 degrees or raining, will I want to eat a hot dog outside? The loading areas to pick up large items are not well placed. There is one spot in the front which, when stopping, blocks the main driveway out of the parking structure. There are other loading areas on the other side and must be approached from the Owensmouth side or through the parking structure. If one wishes to walk from Costco and the structure to The Village, the walkway is across all the lanes of incoming and outgoing traffic from the parking structure. There is no pedestrian area or bridge. The parking structure set-up is truly terrible. The interior traffic flow isnt good. Take my advice. If you park in the structure, back into your parking spot. It will be 1000 times easier to get out when the place is busy. Whoever had the brilliant idea of the elevators has never been to Costco on a busy shopping day. There are TWO elevators leading from the upper floors of the structure to the store. This means only TWO elevators to get back to your car with your cases of water, over-sized packages of paper towels, giant gallons of laundry soap and the roasted chicken you plan to have for dinner. Darn good thing you have the chicken because it will take that long to get back to your car. TWO elevators which each fit maybe two jumbo shopping carts or flatbeds, and the shoppers pushing them. The line to get back to the upper levels of the structure can take 20 minutes or longer. There is no awning or overhang covering the waiting area so if its 100 degrees, wear your sunblock and if its raining prepare to get wet. The entire place is pay-to-park. Its true that Costco will validate for parking but now its necessary to keep track of your packing ticket and present it at checkout for the validation. Weve been informed the reason for this is to keep out tenants from surrounding offices who will be inclined to park at Costco rather than pay for parking in their own buildings thus taking up all the spots. Unfortunately it also makes the parking area very "unfriendly" for Costco shoppers. It appears people from this area are avoiding the hassle by heading to Northridge or Westlake for their regular Costco shopping trips.

I have been shopping here with my family since it first opened. It was Costco, then it was Costco versus Price Club. So, Costco has been in our family for a very long time. We are dedicated Costco members. Lots has changed in the years we have been here. The one thing that differs from other Costcos is that this place is very small. It isnt as big as the other Costcos that I have been to. I really think they should update their restroom facilities, food court, and expand their warehouse. They have plenty of space with such a huge parking lot. They should try to expand it, unless there is something else happening in the late near future. And in most cases, all costcos carry different things. As Price Club in Northridge was finally bought out by Costco, We go there more often. We do make random visits here and its good to see the original Costco that has supplied us with family sized foods, electronics, gadgets, clothing is still standing tall. I think with all costcos, they need to focus on A/C.. Its hot in all the Costcos I go to.

It would have been one of the best Costco in the Valley if not for the horrendous parking conditions. Clearly either some money has changed hands or somebody _really high_ on the Costco pecking tree - one of those who have never make mistakes, but sometimes suffers from his subordinates inability to implement clear orders ;) has made a selection. Bottom line - no parking on the ground floor - ever. Yes, there is parking on the upper floors BUT there are just two elevators and they are both slow and prone to breakage. There is no indicator where the elevator is, whether it is coming, etc. I was among those "smart ones" who have parked upstairs only to come to the elevator with the full cart to see the long line that others were complaining and the elevator repair vehicle standing right next to it. Bottom line - this store has such a low acceptance rate that they have closed Costco Canoga Park to force-prop attendance to it from the West Valley residents.

Pretty good deal of $29.99 for an American Flag. I waited for the day before the 4th of July for a further discount. I searched all-over the store and found 3 that were returned. One was missing the flag was just a pole. The other 2 obviously had been outside for a while. I picked the better of the 2 and both had a bolt missing. Thought they might work with me instead of full price 29.99. After waiting for register the manager told me that since it was missing a bolt he couldnt even sell it to me. Manager regurgitated a line about liability and policy. Didnt treat me like a loyal customer or human. I had to wait empty handed in a line to exit as slowly checked receipts...Amazon will keep me even if I spend a bit more. Glad they bought wholefoods this why your stock is dropping costco.

This was the worst Costco visit I have ever had, parking is terrible, even for a Costco... the exchange line was to the parking lot and we had one item to return, instead of offering to hold it up front or nicely asking to leave it in the car the lady at the front literally barked their Costco policy of no purchased items in the store. Then in the store it was as if this attitude was reflected on every person in there. Barking snapping mean rude all the way through checkout. It seems like at this Costco and the one in Westlake both places the workers are so ready and excited to yell at people and bark their stupid Costco policy as if it was a matter of civic duty. Costco needs to go back to caring about the customers.

One star for the gas pumps and one star for the new shopping carts. Other than that I cant say I like it. The parking is horrendous and having to take the carts into an elevator isnt ideal. The layout doesnt work for two reasons. First its harder to find things in this store than the old Roscoe location and second it almost impossible to navigate an isle without running into someone. Went to the Tampa location and it was like a breath of fresh air even tho it is three times farther. I wish they kept the old Roscoe location open and just added this one. There would have been enough customers to support both.
