Although I found quite a few cute clothing items at an affordable price, the employees at this location is what made me give such a low rating. The cashier barely spoke & had an attitude when she did. While I was trying on clothes, I overheard multiple employees complaining about having to put back the clothes that are on the racks next to the dressing rooms. (a.k.a doing their jobs) It made me feel very uncomfortable & unwelcome, so I put my unwanted clothing items that didnt fit me back on the shelves myself. Shortly after I assume the manager came over the intercom & stated "__________ PLEASE PUT YOUR PHONE UP" Said employee then responded with a dramatic eye roll then continued to check out a customer. I am from the east coast & therefore I am not familiar with the Deseret Industries thrift store, but aside from the products, this was a bad experience. It would be more profitable, widen your demographic & make this an overall wonderful establishment if more attention was put to the face of Deseret Industries, its employees.

I agree with many of the other posters. Im an avid thrifter! This year Ive already thrifted in Washington DC, New York, California, Arizona and Seattle. DIs prices are comparatively higher then most of the stores I visited outside Utah, and their merchandise isnt as good. $10.00 for used shoes and jeans?!! I can get new ones at old navy or payless. Obviously they dont seem to care what anyone thinks, because most of these reviews continue to come in below average. Why cant they seem to take a hint? Ive started donating to savers instead of DIs because they give me a good discount on my purchase when I do. Their prices seem higher initially, but they have 99 cent Mondays, and 50% off certain color tags every week. plus their inventory seems better.

Quick and easy to drop off donations. Because of the area the offerings inside tend to be SLIGHTLY better than the DI by my house in West Valley or the locations downtown that get picked through more often...but alas, its still a thrift store. So furniture has rips and stains, tables dont have matching chairs, and if youre looking for a specific size, youll need to do some digging. But thats all thrift stores, so this is no different. Im just mostly impress with the ease of donation drop off. Three dudes run out to empty out your car, you dont even have to get out...except I got about three blocks away before I realized they also took the car seat out of the back with my son still in it.

We recently took a used-once, still-in-the-box, PERFECT artificial Christmas tree that cost over $200 three years ago. When we gave it to them, they put it directly in the dumpster. We asked why, and they said "we get too many". Its almost Christmas. There are people who could have used it. And they throw it away? And watch them clear out all of the glass and china, throw it in a bin where it breaks....and then put identical items on the shelf. Youd think they could train people to match things up. Oh yeah, also watch out for dishes that they tape together. Theyll put broken ones on the inside, where you cant see them -- and they have a no return policy.

Cleanliness & organization is awesome! Prices are great! BUT some of the customer service is not at its best. This was my 2nd visit and everything was well till we got to the register. I asked for discount for working at Beehive Clothing, which I have used my first visit here, and they told me "No we only give discounts to Deseret Industry workers only." I politely told them I used my discount there before, they asked a manager and still didnt approve. Sucks they keep their policies or discounts the same all the time. Especially if its listed on our employment discounts and also if I clearly used it before.

I rarely buy new clothing anymore for my girls, why buy a new t-shirt for 15.00 -20.00 when I can go to the D.I. and get great shirts that I know wont shrink for $3.00. The West Jordan D.I. has a great selection of childrens books at better prices than the other D.Is.. Sure, I can shop at garage sales in the summer and come up with better bargins but it stands to reason that a person selling stuff on their lawn doesnt have the overhead of a store Thanks to the D.I. I can go garage sale shopping every week!

Great selection of used items the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints does an excellent job of filtering lightly used good quality items. huge section for women followed by mens section and smaller section for kids. They also have the yard area which you can find home furnishings car parts and electronics. Typically items are heavily used and dated but every now and then you will find a jewel. I bought a AppleTV for three dollars

I go there looking for odd things from time to time & started noticing prices have got way out of hand, $5 for a filthy glass vase I could buy new for $8 & use to buy for a buck . I dont mind so much, but for those who truly need help, I hope they realize this soon, Christmas is upon us . I dont want to take my donations somewhere else .

Deseret industries is a thrift store. It seems to me that they have gotten away from being a thrift store, and are trying to be like a department store. ((agree on this one)) Prices way to high, they build big fancy stores and they want that poor people to pay for it – We need real management to realize that is not a business.

What a fantastic organization. I usually donate my stuff, versus shop. But sometimes its been a great place to buy some craft items, and costumes. The people are quite friendly. And the whole concept of reusing and giving people a way to get some experience and start careers, is wonderful.

I have a large family and cant afford new clothing.Prices are outrageous!!!!!!!!! I really wish they would , when pricing their items, take into consideration the fact that a large percentage of american working families are on a tight budget.

I mean I guess sometimes prices can be a little silly, but for the most part everything is extremely cheap and you can find TONS of high quality products. Everyone is always really friendly and the store is kept clean and presentable.

Typical DI that also includes a yard area for outdoor type items. Great place to visit if youre budget is in a pinch. Also, a great place for employees trying to get started into a career. This store has bathrooms for public use.

Its a 2nd hand thrift store but the variety and quality of clothes is great. I always get shirts here, but pants are more difficult for men. For women they have lots of blouses and pants. The cashiers are usually friendly too.

Always fun to go there and browse to see what ended up there. The staff are great, if a price is too high or there are similar items with different prices they will work with you.

I love the DI.. Most of the time I come home with an awesome deal.. This thrift store is better than any other thrift store I have ever been too!
