I have no problem with the merchandise carried in the store. I do have problems with the vendors! This is my experience: Basically they have a great sense of confidence that since Costco has chosen them over other competitors in the same product line, they have an sense of over confidence and that we should trust them without question. They are the best and the most honest. This leads to an arrogance in dealing with them when there are problems with their salesmanship. I will give you two examples that has led me to seek other options in the future and not put my trust in the backing of the Costco name! I will warn you about the flooring company that they use (or who uses them). First, get the exact price per square foot for the covering that you have chosen and then the total that includes the extra footage. Then get the exact cost of labor per square foot that includes the baseboards (if done). We did not do this. Each item needs to individually itemized and written down what is ordered and its cost!!! Do not allow the sales pitch about "no tax today and the extra gift cards!" They offer that all the time!! Now take your paperwork and do comparisons at other places!! I RECOMMEND Robinsons with a great reputation or Quality Carpets to at least to do a comparison. Do not sign with them until you know where your money is going. This company is named CARPET OUTLET PLUS. The other company that we dealt with was ECOWATER SYSTEMS for conditioner/refiner & reverse osmosis which was really expensive. We took a survey of how much we spend on cleaners and soaps and was promised that we would get rewards for equivalent to 5 years of products to use and it was free. They left no paperwork for this but he said he was going to sign us up and email us for the information so we can acquire these items. Well, we never got that information. We called a told them three time that we did not the information for these products. We have yet to hear from them 8 months later. I am sick of dealing with them when they deceive you and do not think they need to protect their reputation with excellent service because Costco stands behind them (if only in name) with their outstanding reputation!!!

My family has been members for several years. recently added our business as an executive member, shopping your stores often. I was applaud to find out that a product I purchased just under two years ago, will not be covered. Yes, I see all the fine print, all the rules and regulations (hoops) that surround your "satisfaction guarantee," but is that really where customer service ends? fine print and "details?" I purchased a television Feb of 2011 from the Clovis Wherehouse. Last night, my two year old somehow cracked the screen with a plastic harmonica/flute. Really? a 50cent toy DESTROYS a $700 television? What kind of products are you selling there? This was an inferior product. Weak at best, but almost defective off the shelf. Im sure as you read this, you are already telling yourself all the reasons I am wrong and you are right. "well we only cover defects...." or, "what, you expect us to cover every little accident?" my answer is YES! Customer service should be #1. It is sad how everyone there hides behind some, rule, or requirement, but the fact of the matter is that this TV should not have cracked. I would have been happier purchasing one at any number of competitors, but I choose Costco with their "outstanding customer service" their, "awesome return policy." As a manager myself, I have had my fair share of, "What!? That person (customer) has no idea what they are asking for! We dont do that for people!" But you know what, I do. I still give the customer what they were EXPECTING. i do because customer service is #1. it does not come second to revenues, or loss prevention. Someone needs to step up here and make things happen. Im not looking for a refund. Honestly, I wasnt even expecting it to be replaced. I got it for cheap! (and now i know why). All I wanted is to buy a new one, and get my previous investment taken off. Its called store credit. I buy there, your product doesnt live up to the expectations, i return it and get something else, STILL IN YOUR STORE. It was almost a relief for the reps on the tech support line when they found the screen had a crack. as if they thought, alright, thats it! Not returning this one! I sure hope they dont have quotas...

Lots of things to like about Costco. They have an excellent Tri tip for instance, good coffee deals and a nice 5 pack of lint rollers (when theyre in stock) chicken Cordon blue (when in stock). Unfortunately, these favorites of mine arent always there. Heres my biggest complaint : they have this white bread baked in house thats packaged into a very thin plastic bag (two loaves per bag) when you see it in the store, youll see a sell by date of at least 5 days in the future. Purchase it, take it home and leave it on your counter for two days before opening it and itll be not nearly as fresh, wait 3 days and itll be so hard/stale that youll end up throwing it ALL out! The problem is the super cheap, thin, porous? plastic bags they use! I love this bread and after throwing out the second loaves many times, Ive learned to open the bag immediately once home and transfer the loaves into my own ziplock bags including a paper towel to help absorb excess moisture. Also, they must be refrigerated within 2 days to prevent mold. (this is probably a lack of preservatives, a good thing) but the sell by date is a sham because of this. GET BETTER BAGS and/or set REALISTIC sell by dates! Whomever is responsible for this fiasco is just another phucktard deluxe. Love most of Costco otherwise!

After sharing a Costco account with my mother for 10years, and using her card to check in or out etc, which they knew I did the family shopping- I went to pick up flea&tick medicine 69.99$ to protect our dogs, plus a cute pair of pumas on sale for 14.89$ and I proceeded to wait in line with my 2 little items, when I get to the front they call a manager and say I was not allowed because it was my mothers card, not mine, and my mother gave me permission to use her card AND I was on the account- They cut her card and said your mother can pick up a new one when she comes in next- mind you we live an hour+ away into the mountains, my mother works from home- I am in town more hence me doing shopping and making that 2+ hour round trip drive, I was SO unnecessarily embarassed loudly and in a ride manner in front of many customers, all because I used the wrong card to our joined EXECUTIVE Membership. Their service was rude, not enough staff to help the persons in line with carts full of hundreds to thousands of dollars worth of their merchandise. The employees act as if it is too bothersome to answer a question when approached, I have never met/talked to many happy employees at this Costco before the card issue. I would advise using another company or location.
