Beware - they broke my watch and then the owner, Joan Olson, told me to "Google it." They advertise on their website and on their sign "Watch repair and batteries." I brought my watch to them for a battery replacement and when I got my watch back the stop watch did not work correctly. They reset it so that it thinks the 12 is at the 7. I called them to ask how late they were open so I can come get it fixed and the owner said, word for word, "I dunno, just Google it, I dont know anything about watches, Im not a watch person, I only know how to replace batteries and thats what I did and we Google things all the time" And I said thats unacceptable (I had just paid $20.) Before I brought them my watch it worked just fine, and now it doesnt work anymore. She offered to send it to a watch repair specialist for another $20! When I said Ive already paid you $20 she started swearing at me and said "You have a really *bleeping* attitude" and hung up on me.

I dropped off a ring to be resized. When I picked it up the size was proper but there was a crease in the top of the ring. I took the ring back to the store to see what could be done to fix it. First, the owner refused to believe there was a problem and thought that was the way the ring was supposed to look. Then she tried to accuse me of making it up and when that finally didnt work she accused me of having something else wrong with the ring. Not once did she ask me what she could do to repair the damage done by her goldsmith. In the end, she said she refused to work with me. I left there and reported her to the Better Business Bureau. I will go somewhere else to have the damage fixed. I will never go back to that store and now I wouldnt trust them to change a watch battery. The customer service is terrible. Do yourself a favor and take your business somewhere else.

Dishonest. Sold some of my gold jewelry to owner. One piece was sapphire and diamond ring. She offered me thirty dollars for it. When I asked why - she explained the the sapphire was not that nice and she would not be able to get more than $75 for the ring. I went through with the transaction only to find that she put the ring on sale for $150.00. I also purchased a ring there and was told by the owner that it was a "one of a kind" piece. Two weeks later, she had the exact same ring in her store for sale. Obviously, she was dishonest with me in an attempt to get the sale.

I came here to have a simple lobster clasp replaced on a treasured necklace. When I received it back, not only did they raise the price on the repair way over what a replacement clasp and service (it was attached by a ring, not by soldering) should have cost, but it was absolutely gigantic and completely out of place on such a fine-chained necklace. And the spring broke a week later. I wore the previous clasp for four years before it broke. I am so disappointed and will never use these people again.

I traded my scrap gold in for some jewelry for my wife for xmas and was very pleased with their offer. I had "shopped" a couple of their competitors in the area to make sure I was getting a fair price for the gold and was pleasantly surprised at how much more I got from them, even on a trade-in! Not only that, but their selection of new and estate jewelry was phenomenal and unique and its a really fun place to shop...makes shopping actually bearable!! I totally recommend these guys!!!

I have been buying jewelry from J. Olson Jewelry in Acton for over 20 years. They have a great selection, great prices and are always ready to help. Unlike other jewelry stores, they offer classic styles along with estate jewelry as well as different, creative designs from local designers. I always find the right gift without the hassle of mall shopping and I can be confident that I am getting excellent value for my money. I cannot recommend J Olson Jewelers more highly.

Horrible customer service! The sales associate and the owner are rude and inept. I have bought several pieces from them, and with each purchase, I liked them less. They have now lost another customer who has given them thousands over the years. They do not know what they are talking about, and are quick to point fingers. I highly recommend finding an alternative jeweler. I will never return.

Sales associates are not that helpful. I am left feeling that I am wasting someones time there. I have had watch bateries replaced there with varying degrees of success, some worked better and some did not. For a retail establishment, its hours are most inconvenient. When is it open?
