I would have said this was a wonderful toy store and a wonderful place to shop, but I can no longer say that. Having an owner that would treat an employee so hatefully with such anger makes it impossible for me to recommend them. It is certainly their loss in letting her go, however they should remember that the way you treat others, especially in a childrens store, does not go unnoticed. You should strive to set a positive example not attempt to demean and destroy. I hope the other employees there have not been subjected to your abuse. I know I will tell everyone that will listen to take their business elsewhere!

The store has a lot of wonderful toys, and the staff is pretty friendly. Unfortunately, the prices were jawdropping. I was looking for a pack of Go Fish cards for my kids--10 bucks. For one pack of cards. The prices on other items, such as stuffed animals, are also extraordinary. We went over to The Place, which is a few streets away, and found the same pack for about $3, which was their regular price. I know Alakazam is a "boutique" toy store, but I dont think people who shop there should pay an extra 20% or more on items just to say they bought it from Alakazam.

I did all of my Christmas shopping here this year. Great place to find thoughtful toys, one of a few here in town. I always have a little nostalgia when I come into great, curated stores like this. You can tell that the owners and operators of this establishment understand the importance of thoughtful play. As I walk around, Im reminded of my own experiences with lego, spirograph, mechanical sets, electronics learning, and more. Im glad that I can pass some of those memorable joys on to my sons by coming here.

They sell good quality toys here. Sure they are marked the regular retail price, not the amazon special price. But if you want to support a local small business, come here. Also, for anyone who has the Toob brand animals, they sell some of them individually here! Life saver.

Love the staff here, they are very cheerful (but not sickeningly so), and ate very friendly. Toys are of reasonable price, quantity and quality. Id recommend this place for kids age 2 to 10, as most of the toys are targeted at a younger age.

I hope this place is around for a long time. Youll find lesser known and higher quality brands here. Its just superb. You wont get this experience at a national chain. Well be going back.

Had same experience as ClickinGirl. They follow you around if you have little ones. Policy is you break it, you buy it. Maybe come with out the kids so you can enjoy yourself in this store.
