Terrible care and management of the live animals that they sell. I was walking by the baby chicks and noticed that the brooders were over crowded and filthy. The chick waterers were almost empty and full of droppings/shavings. I even spotted two dead chicks! Not a staff member in sight. Customers were crowding around the brooders and children were roughly handling baby chicks and ducklings. It was awful. Rural King needs to step it up if selling live animals. Hire better, more knowledgeable staff who can monitor the animals at all times. Chick brooders should not be able to be accessed by customers and children! Take TSC for example - their chick brooders are gated off and can only be accessed by TSC employees. It is a much better set-up and if shopping for chicks I would recommend going there instead. Needless to say I did not buy anything from the store and will take my business elsewhere.

Im not sure what the problem is with the guy who works the "help" desk back in the stihl department. EVERYTIME I got to buy something hes such a jerk!! Try asking for a part he has to look in the back for. Hes a total jerk, and to top it off they never have anything. Today I went in for a basic part. The part was $5.00, they of course didnt have it, so I was told it needed ordered. $13.00 because I was supposed to pay the $8.00 shipping!! No way! I said nevermind, Ill order it offline... he proceeded to be real nasty and tell me I would still pay shipping. I left my cart full of stuff I was going to buy and left. I sat in my truck in the parking lot and ordered the same part for the same price with free shipping. It will be a while before I return, it will only be if I absolutely have too.

Horrible customer service! Called to inquire about an item I saw online, very simple do you have it or not. Put on hold 3 times because they were "busy". I understand being busy but it doesnt take 20 mins to run and check or even look on the computer. Finally after getting a yes they do have it, I asked them to pull it for me so I can pick it up at the front desk. They said theyll try... really?! You dont tell a customer that! I got there an hour later and no one had pulled it. They said i had to go get it myself. No one was there to help it was on the top shelf. I had to climb on the shelf to get it... I have to drive out of my way to get there, but I wont drive out of my way after this experience. I will spend more money somewhere else with better service.

Ill drive a bit further and spend a little more, if necessary, in order to avoid shopping here. I went to purchase drain cleaner. It required a managers approval, which is strange but fine enough. They called a manager 3 times in 10 minutes before the cashier had to go to the back and escorts the manager to register. The manager didnt care that we had been waiting for going on 15 minutes with a long line building behind us. The cashier apologised profusely, but disclosed that it was a regular occurance.

Worked there for less than 6 months. Was ill trained and penalized for being sick. i had one day of training and then thrown out on the floor and then moved cause i wasnt getting stuff done fast enough, moved to cashier with no cashiering experience. Personally i dont think the managers care about their employees and more about how much money the store make. I couldnt take their bullshit anymore and walked out.

If youve never been to a Rural King, its a difficult place to describe... a combination of Tractor Supply, Home Depot, Harbor Freight and a gun shop. Lots of really good deals on stuff you need around the house, clothes (especially work stuff), etc. Checkout lines are often one step away from chaos. Avoid during busy times. Workers are generally good-natured, if not always as helpful as youd like them to be.

My relatives told me about how great Rural King was so when I visited it I was excited. After I went in I was disappointed. Expensive place. How is it a discount stores if they sell items at MSRP? That is the highest price anywhere. For example Under Armour shirts are priced at the MSRP, whereas even Bass Pro Shop and Cabelas sells the same shirt for $10 less. MSRP=Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price.

Absolutely appalling customer service. Selling products prominently displayed at a low price AFTER rebate but have no rebate coupons. Told to go over to "that guy" who could print on off computer. Waited 5 minutes as he laughed and talked on phone as I stood next to him with full cart. He knew I was there but never once looked up to acknowledge me...I left and will never return again.

Incompetent employees!!!! Called and spoke with a kid at the gun counter to ask about a specific shotgun and was told there were several in stock. I wanted to make sure because, i didnt want the floor model. Got there and the floor model was the only one i could purchase. The others that were in stock were all on layaway. So disappointing.

No prices on anything, no cashiers. Went to buy a weed eater get to the counter after 30 minute wait to pay and the woman tells me I have to fill out a warranty card in the back where I got the weed eater and the guy that does it is out to lunch?!?! I left 218 dollars worth of stuff on the counter and walked out will never be back.

I like shopping here. Most of our all in one convenient shopping is done here. A few items we regularly need that they dont carry but its not a problem. We are always met with helpful service, smiles, great department service and any issues we have are handled in a professional manor.

I always find a sale on something. A regular place to stock up on vinegar, paper towels, garbage bags, bleach, etc. Casual shopping atmosphere with no intrusive sales people. No problems. 4 stars because Inexpensive car battery bought in December died in August.

This store is just so handy. I end up here at least once a week, usually more because they always have what I need. Great sales. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Its a farm store, dont expect it to be super clean and glamorous.

I love their products but the employees have little to no knowledge of the products, this is made worse by the fact that they dont listen. Most times I leave irritated but go back because they have products not available anywhere else.

Horrible customer service tried to buy firm arm denied with no explanation then called corporate they just made promises that wasnt kept. I feel they are racist due to the fact it happened to others. DONT SHOP AT RURAL KING!!!

Rural King is like a farm store that has dog food feed a few grocery items tools and everything you need it also has blue jean shorts of jeans like overhaul stuff like that and their genes are really sturdy for the tough kid

I went there today to buy a duck, and the conditions the ducks were in was appaling. I couldnt even get close to them they stunk so bad. They were covered and splashing around in there on feces. This is unacceptable!
