Have been using them for several years now. Staff and Dr. Harris are always nice and professional. I dont have vision insurance, but price on visit is always reasonable. Wait time is a little long but I never make an appointment either. Im always a "walk-in". The eyeware part is a bit higher on retail prices for contacts so I choose to buy my contacts online. They are always nice and helpful in providing my written Rx to purchase my contacts elsewhere. Overall, I would recommend Dr. Harris @ Marx Optical to anyone looking for a good optometrist....... Update : I have officially quit seeing them after 10+ years. After sitting waiting for almost 3hours with an eye injury, I felt as though greater concern should have been given to at least administer a triage type exam to assess the situation, but none was given. In much pain, I decided to leave after nearly 3 hours of waiting, since no concern was given. I dont know if my doctor knew that an eye injury was waiting, but if not, his office staff have been poorly trained to deal with medical necessity Vs. Standard eye exams. I have seeked out an ophthalmologist and will begin seeing Dr Cain from now on instead of any optometrist office.

Ive used this company for 17 years. The staff and my eye doctor, Dr. B, have become more like family. They always ask how I am and check on my family. Ive never been mistreated and theyve always been very helpful. When I got pink eye, I had went to my family doctor first and it wasnt clearing up. I decided to visit my eye doctor and they got me an appointment quickly, explained why I wasnt getting well and had me back out the door with prescriptions. (Ill add that my family doctor wasnt at fault) The only thing that has changed over the years is that theyve grown. My wait is a little longer due to this but its not extreme. For great service, I choose to stay.

They told my husband they accepted his insurance but when he got there they told him they were having issues with his insurance and he would have to pay $85.00 up front and then be reinbursed by his insurance co. So we called it off and went home. He then called his insurance co and told them what they told him . His insurance company placed him on hold and called marx optical and asked them why they was trying to collect money up front when he has no copay and they told them they didnt even take his insurance. SERIOUSLY??? you guys are totally screwed up.

It was time for an eye exam and I recall using Marx Optical/Decatur Eye Institute a few years back so decided to make an appointment. I work the same hours they are open so time off from work was needed. They are open Saturdays but for the next few weekends, the Saturday hours were not late enough. The preliminary exam area was crowded with other patients, I could hear others replies to medical questions and Im sure they could hear mine. So much for medical information privacy. I had to ask twice to get a print out of my prescription. I do not recommend.

Worst eye doctor Ive ever seen. The doctors are rude and stuck up and are not good at answering questions. The staff is friendly but They lied to me several times on different occasions. And gave personal information out to someone who was not on my list of trusted people. Do Not Trust Marx Optical.

They are to high on there prices great frames. where told there in my net work and I picked from the rack that was supposed to be in the plane for less still was out of packet. Cant see out of glasses going some where next time am not likeing whole sale talk on me that

Got to the doc fast and easy, very nice. Diagnosed with astigmatism. But I have to wait 2-4 weeks for my glasses??? Not sure why it should take so long really hoping they come sooner. Overall great service.

Marx Optical came highly recommended. It is a CIRCUS. My wait was longer than my face time. Quality of service was excellent, but they over-scheduled themselves. A Lot.

Nice store! It gets the job done! But the only problem is that when I buy glasses at the store it is usually $50-$80 overpriced! So I buy my glasses online elsewere!
