This is the most unfriendly store I have ever been to. When I came into the store an employee was sitting at a table signing people up for Valu Mart store cards. I stood there for 5 minutes and she ignored me the whole time. Then when I told the (and I use this term loosely) "Co-Manager" Lauren, she laughed about it. I asked her if she thought that her employees being rude to customers was funny? She said "NO but, continued to laugh about. When I asked "Co-Manager" Lauren how old she was, she told me 28 years old. However, "Co-Manager" Lauren is so immature, it makes me question just how she got her job. It wasnt on her mature performance as a good employee.

Valu Market is a much-needed grocery in the Highlands area. It serves many customers within walking distance, serving as the perfect lifesaver for locals in need of a forgotten last-minute ingredient, or just needing an emergency beer run. The selection is decent, with more emphasis on the fresh foods, deli, bakery, and beer than on the dry and canned goods. However, since this isnt a big chain with its own brand, expect to be confronted with name-brand selection and the corresponding name-brand prices (vs finding generics). Get a loyalty rewards card to take advantage of sale prices, and dont forget to bring your own bags!

ValuMarket is a really good place! The produce is always fresh, clean, just the way I like it! If they dont have something, ask, they will try to get it! The people are so friendly! I dont always enjoy grocery shopping, but after I have shopped at ValuMarket, I always leave with a smile! Not always the best prices, but shopping at a locally owned business means a lot to me! And if I only need a couple of things, I can walk there! Their bakery and deli are award winning! And for good reason!! They do all their baking in house! And are the best! Frequent meat sales are great! Go shop at ValuMarket!!

Friday May 27th I had a horrid experience at the Bardstown road location. Around 515pm a younger African American male(didnt get his name) came on to the lane 2 register. Im in there a lot and havent seen this particular cashier. He was rude, unprofessional and offensive; the kid gave no f**ks. Ive always liked the staff at this location, but this bad egg is going to keep me away for a couple weeks. Hopefully, employees like that wont last long and next time I go back I wont see this guy.

This store is great for people with disabilities! In the store, you can go to the service counter that is directly inside the outside doors to get assistance. Plus, they have a delivery option for about $17 that includes a $12 delivery charge and a $5 shoppers charge. I might not be exact on the price, but I have to say it is really convenient to have the delivery option. Also, very service dog friendly! Not only the staff, but the shoppers too.

So consistently impressed with their service! That is literally something I have never said about a grocery store...ever. They are not only are easy to find, but the staff are friendly and helpful. They have gone above and beyond to help me find items. There is also a huge organic/alternative section, so more adventurous or diet-restricted eaters will be so pleased.

Value market is truly a wonderful family orientated grocery store. Would strongly recommend you try value market. They have a very large selection as well as specialty items from local producers. If you have the opportunity stopped by the mid City Mall look for a product called McKaylas incense its the best incense that we have ever smelled.

Great butcher shop. A beer selection that could put a liquor store to shame. Fresh produce. Lots of obscure and exotic foods and ingredients. Vegan, vegetarian, and organic options. Staff is always friendly, knowledgable, and willing to help. Never wait more than 5 minutes in line. The best grocery, hands down.

When you go in, it feels like going into Cheers. Everybody knows your name. The quintessential local grocery store. Good fresh produce, deli food only average, but good for what it is. Great cheese selection. Love the butchers. And they deliver, which in the winter is a Huge plus. Shop local, shop here.

A caring business that supports the community, is friendly and hires people with some disabilities which is an excellent model for all businesses. I like their selection too. Lots of organic and healthy foods with a fair sized health food section near the front of the store just by checkout lanes.

Dont shop here if youre pressed for time. Tried several times to grab something on my lunch break but had to leave each time because they only open one lane and thats usually filled with 5 to ten customers. But they always have 5 employees standing around the customer service desk.

Clean store with an amazing beer selection. We are from out of town and the cashier gave us some friendly advice on local stores.They had their own tab you can bottle up and purchase and also a walk in room that is cooled like a fridge to keep a huge selection of beer chilling!

I like going to the local store when I can. I dont know how their prices compare with Kroger but their layout is easy to navigate. They also have taps to fill growlers which is a nice plus. I havent tried their grocery delivery or pickup but that is tempting...

I cannot believe that have such a great selection in such a small location. This place is half the size of Kroger, but they have everything I need. The produce is top notch, their beer selection is unparalleled, and the staff is friendly. KEEP LOUISVILLE WEIRD!

I absolutely hate going to the grocery but I love Valu market. It is not a giant super center. Nice clean and convenient. I really love not walking a mile for a gallon of milk. The deli is always staffed with friendly people and Cuban sandwich is amazing!

This is the definition of a neighborhood grocery. Everyone goes there. Its the first place we look for anything and it has most things for decent quality and a fair price. The only way to make it better would be to expand into the parking lot!

Tried to use the delivery service 2x but orders were incorrect both times. I spoke to the manager about the problem and he referred to a female African American employee as "his girl". Wont be using this service again.

Pretty good store, but prices all went up when they went with the store card. And now if you dont have the store card, then you will expect to pay more. And then people wonder why large stores like Walmart take over.

The Mid-City ValuMarket has the BEST butcher shop in town. Not only is meat value-priced, but the guys working the meat department know their cuts. They are happy to help and can make money-saving recommendations.

Great placed grocery store that makes running to get something quick in the Highlands very convenient. Not as big as a Kroger, instead has a more home town feel to it. Awesome selection of organic products.
