On April 9, 2015 my husband and I purchased a couch from American Freight in Knoxville, Tn. We were going to be moving the first weekend of June so we opted to have American Freight store our couch until the weekend of June 6, 2015. We went to pick up our couch on June 6, 2015 and an employee said that they had just received a large shipment and they were not able to locate our couch in their warehouse and offered us the floor model for a week until they could clear out their warehouse and locate our couch. We took the floor model after they assured us that our couch was in the building and they told us they would call us within the next week and set up a time the following weekend to swap the floor model with the new couch. We never received a call from them telling us when they would come so on June 15, 2015 my husband called and nobody answered. We called again on June 16, 2015 and nobody answered. So on June 17, 2015 we drove back to the store and were told that there was no managers in the store. An employee told us that they no longer had any of the couch that we ordered in stock and that we needed to be patient for one to come in (very rudely) and that they would call us when one arrived. On July 25, 2015 we still had yet to get a call, I drove up to the store and talked with a manager who told me that they had 4 of the model couch we had ordered in stock and we set up for one to be delivered and swapped out with our floor model on Sunday, July 26, 2015 for sometime after 2pm. I was told that we would get a call before 2 to confirm a more exact time of delivery. We had not received at call by 2:30 so we called them and were told we would get a call back in 5 minutes because they needed to call the delivery driver and get his location. 45 minutes later (around 3:45pm) they had not called back so we called again asking when our couch would be delivered. The person said that the driver would be at the store by 4pm and give us a call when it was loaded up. We never received a call or a delivery with our couch. Today is the evening of Monday, July 27, 2015 and we still do not have our couch or had anyone call us to let us know when it may arrive.

Worse experience EVER! Do NOT buy anything from them!!! We purchased a couch & mattress there and spent over $2000. The couch wasnt the couch we picked & they gave us the wrong bed. When I contacted the store about it they told me the couch we picked "didnt exist anymore". I asked them why would they have the couch displayed on their showroom floor if it "didnt exist anymore" and the manager told me he told his employees to tell customers it wasnt available. Which the salesman didnt tell us or we wouldnt of gotten that couch. They then told me they would switch the mattress out for the correct mattress & promised me it would be done the next day which was a Sunday. Needless to say, we never heard anything from the people that were supposed to be coming to switch it out and couldnt get anyone to answer the phone at the store. At this point I was LIVID. I called American freights home office and never received a phone call back I instead received a call from a different manager at the store here in Knoxville. I demanded that they pick the furniture up & that I wanted a full refund! The manager said hed have to get it approved by his regional manager and would get back to me. I waited 4 hours & never heard back from him so I called back & he said the regional manager approved the refund. Which I was happy about. I then scheduled the pick up for Saturday. The manager assured me Id be the first stop for their subcontractors coming to pick up the furniture which would of been between 10 am & 11 am. I now sit here waiting at almost 3 pm & every time I call the store trying to get an idea of when they will be here & they told me they had a delivery before mine and they will be here "soon". When they told me I was supposed to be the first stop. Worst company I have EVER dealt with. Everyone I know will be told not to buy furniture with this company.

Initially when we chose a bedroom suit the staff was very helpful, telling us that the expected delivery date was around 2 weeks which was understandable. Turns out that did not happen. When we called no one knew why we did not get the furniture but we were promised it would be delivered the following week. Didnt happen! Called again, was passed around to several people, finally they said they would drive to Chattanooga, pick up the bedroom suit (from a sister store) and deliver it the same day. Didnt happen. Called again asking for a refund, they said it would be delivered the following week yet again, with a $100 refund. $100 refund, yes! Furniture, didnt happen! Called yet again, there was a new manager, because they were having issues with customer service...go figure, and no one could explain what had happened to the furniture and why we didnt have it. Another promise from the "new manager", you will have it next week. Over a month later, still no furniture and no returned calls. We had to personally visit the store for a refund. Their motto should be, American Freight, "youll have it next week, I promise!" We will never ever even pull into that parking lot. And we will spread the word about our terrible experience with American Freight on Lovell Rd.

We ordered our furniture 5 months ago. First, the prices on some of the couches and loveseat sets are very misleading. We were told that they all come together. We found a set that we loved, and found out later that the pieces are priced separately. Quality... Oh what a mess. It is all pressed wood. the finish is just layered on plastic. The assembly instructions were impossible to follow. Just vague pictures with even more vague arrows. We purchased a bed frame, and the welding on the legs was weak and it separated causing the leg to come off of the frame. The dining room table that we ordered had paint chipped off and the metal was rusted in places. We called about all these issues, and were told that there was a no refund policy nor were there any warranties. Now back to 5 months ago. We had our furniture delivered, and they were mysteriously out of stock on our chest dresser. We still havent received it. It is a game of cat and mouse trying to figure out when they will get it out for delivery. Since it is being "redelivered" we wont get it until someone in our area has furniture delivered. And be prepared, you will need an 85 dollar check when they drop your furniture off, for delivery fee

We bought a coffee table Last week and we decided to pick it up so that we dont have to deal with delivery issues. Got the item, went home and found out they gave us a chair instead of a coffee table. Called them and Nate (the manager) said they will be delivered the following day. No delivery was made nor any phone calls was made to tell us why there was no delivery, Call them the following day and was put on hold for 15 minutes. Said they were sorry but will delivery the next day. The next day, they delivered a wrong item again! Was informed that they will deliver the following day with the right item! Said they will deliver first thing in the morning but again not call or no delivery, I was again put on hold and again Nate said it will be delivered the same day and again no calls was made to confirm if there will be any deliveries. I decided to cancell this order and do not recommend them to anyone. They are not professional when it comes to dealing with customers needs and time.
