BUYER BEWARE!!! Do not expect them to stand behind their products. My wife and I had purchased products from Ashley in the past have always been pleased with their quality. So we didnt hesitate going to Ashley again. This time we purchased a sectional for the new home we were moving into. Everything was going well, the sales rep was very good and helped us to pick out the perfect furniture set. The problem all started when it came time to make arrangements to get it home. The delivery schedule was booked up for over a week out and we were excited about getting it home (didnt have any living room furniture of the new home and would be sitting on the floor), so we decided to pick it up ourselves while we had our 26 foot U-haul rental so we could get it sooner. We picked it up at the warehouse, they loaded it up and the drive to the house was uneventful. There were three adult males there to unload all 4 pieces of the sectional. It was a straight shot from the truck directly into the living room with no obstructions or any sharp edges anywhere (house was almost completely empty). Each piece was completely wrapped in thick plastic sheeting, so there were no concerns there would be any issues with it. Once all the pieces were in the house we started taking off the plastic only to find the love seat of the sectional had an 8 inch gash in the back. There was NO way it could have been damaged since I came in possession of it from the time it was loaded in the truck to the time it unwrapped in our living room. The U-haul had no sharp edges, again it was completely empty and only had the furniture sections, and as I mentioned it was a short distance from the truck to living room. While I was bummed it was damaged, I knew these things happen. I was certain that this could get corrected in a timely manner. Wrong on both counts!! We immediately contacted our sales rep and we sent him a picture of the damage and he passed that on to the management. From this point forward, we got nothing but the run around and feet dragging. The management team never called back...we kept having to call them to get updates. It took 2 1/2 weeks to get a tech to come out to check the damage and once he arrived, he was only there long enough to take a picture (which we already sent them the day we got it home) and he left. Finally after another 2 weeks, we find out that the tech said it was NOT a factory defect and they wouldnt cover the damage. SUPRRISE!! They are trying to weasel out of standing behind their product. It is a good thing I took out insurance on this (and hope I dont get the run around there too) because if I hadnt I would be SOL. I was never told that if I picked it up myself that all bets were off. What a joke!! I will NEVER shop there again. Not because they have bad products or because I was disappointed in the sales team. But because if anything goes wrong, I know it wont be resolved in a timely manner or (possibly) to my satisfaction. I put them in the same category as healthcare insurance companies....always looking for ways to weasel out of paying for claims.

Where do I start? My daughter and I went to the Ashley Furniture in Kingsport at approx 3pm last wed. We were shopping for a chair for my mother who was being released from the hospital. We walked around the whole store and were looking at chairs in the back area. In our travels around the store (40 minutes) we passed no less than 6 employees. Not one could take the time out of their busy day of playing with their cell phones to ask if we needed help. Now by shopping I meant buying as we NEEDED to purchase a chair ASAP. I had to go to the service desk and ask if I could talk with someone. I explained what happened and she apologized, but at this time I did not want to spend money at a store that could not even ask if I needed help. Fast forward to this monday and I had still yet to find a chair suitable for my mothers needs. She told me the only one she thought would work was at Ashley. So, I called Ashley furniture in the morning and asked to speak with a manager.I was told they were in a meeting and one would call me back shortly. I explained it was time sensitive. Waited all day and received no phone call. Contacted Ashley furniture through their website form and never heard back from them either. Mon night I purchased a chair from another store and it was delivered Wed. in time for my mother to have a place to sit. I arrive at work today and have a message that Ashley furniture called me WED afternoon. In the meantime we found out we have to purchase a new bedroom suite due to my mother not being able to comfortably get in and out of her current one. also because the chair was not matching to her existing living room furniture we purchased the matching furniture today. Their loss. what was originally supposed to be a $700 dollar purchase has become a $4800 purchase. I guess they are just too busy to need the commission from a sale that small. Poor customer service, Poor follow up with potential customers, Just all around bad experience.

BUYER BEWARE: DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR FURNITURE HERE!! Wish I had read all of the negative reviews before we purchased. My husband and I usually buy from higher end furniture stores that have always stood behind their merchandise. We bought 2 power recliners, paid cash for them, picked them up ourselves in boxes-2weeks after purchased. Unboxed and connected to power source -by day six one chair stopped working. We call store and spoke with someone named SARAH- she was EXCEPTIONALLY rude and dismissive. She told me " you signed for it theres nothing I can do you should have paid for delivery and set up so it could be inspected" WHAT!!!! We were supposed to unbox, assemble chairs, and dissemble to take them home???? She said " well yes thats your problem now" . We paid for the extended warranty . Asked to speak with her manager . Again ZERO assistance. She told us to put a battery into the chair for power outages ( the motor was the problem) again WHAT??!! I asked if I could just return the chair. I was told there are NO RETURNS. They arranged for a tech to come inspect the chair 2 weeks later. Weve called multiple times( its now been 8 weeks) and spoke with DAVE the store manager and he said " you call yourself to the Ashely warehouse and get our own parts- its their fault it hasnt been sent" he was rude, passed of the blame, and hes frankly lazy he wants us to do his job for him???? MINDBOGGLING We should have received a brand new chair. PERIOD. Absolutely will NEVER EVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. WE STILL HAVE A NONFUNCTIONAL CHAIR THAT COST 850$. I have NEVER dealt with such rude and frankly obnoxious people. Hope the owner reads this and does some housecleaning!!!!

Robbed? We picked out a sectional sofa, 2 tables, a lamp, ding table and 6 chairs. We asked our sales person Steve to see if we could get a discount since we were purchasing so much. He came back with a price and we agreed. He NEVER told us he wasnt including the lamp. Instead he went over what we wanted BEFORE he went to the manager for a price. He NEVER told us they write out a different ticket for the lamp, instead he OMMITTED THE lamp. He NEVER told us that they dont deliver lamps, as a matter of FACT he never told us he wasnt selling us the lamp. Instead he led us to believe we were getting a deal on the sectional, lamp, 2 tables, dining room table and 6 chairs. The furniture comes, damaged and the wrong pieces, and there is no lamp. When I call the store, the manager who acts HIGH AND MIGHTY is like talking to an ICE BERG with no EXCUSE but she grabbles at passing the blame. This lamp was part of our bundle. No lamp and all she can say is well she doesnt know why the sales person did what he did and then hung up on me when I said he was an idiot. That every time I now look at my furniture in my house all I can think about is HOW WE GOT RIPPED OFF. The sales person and the manager are representing America and this is EXACTLY WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICA. They need to RIGHT THEIR WRONG.
