I have one word to describe my experience at Homewood Chevrolet "embarrassing" not because the car salesman but because of Tim Marozas, to recap me and my girlfriend walked into the dealership and were greeted by a salesperson who informed us that she had an appointment with another client, but would get a salesman, Victor. We explained to him that we would be buying a brand new Colorado and a new Malibu. He proceeded to take down our information and brought out both cars for test drives. Once we finished the test drives he started to process the paperwork when I informed him that I would like to go through the negotiation for the Colorado first and see what kind of deal we could get since that would be bought with a loan and then negotiate the Malibu which would have been bought straight cash. It was at this point he brought his four square worksheet up to Tim and worked on the figures. He came back with a favorable interest rate and a less than favorable purchase price and trade in price. I proceeded to inform him that he would have to work better on price of the vehicle and the trade in value (3000 less than bluebook and 2000 less than carmax, which bluebook I can understand overvalues but another in person appraisal still gave double, even if its going to auction.) Eventually Victor came back and explained that he really couldnt fudge the trade in value and that there was work that had to be done on the car. I countered with a very understanding reply but stated even with repairs, they still would have room to make money off the trade in even if they gave me more value for it. Victor went to Tim again and still with no changes to price or trade in gathered more information about the trade in and then Tim came over and started what can only be stated as a comedy routine because first thing he asked was what I was doing asking for that price and then trying to explain to me how amazing the Colorado is and how he shouldnt have to sell it that low, I countered with "a negotiation usually starts by highs and lows and seeking an aspiration point" he then explained how the business was not a charity and that do I know what it would cost in repairs for my truck. "Yes, yes I do. I went to a Chevy dealership and got an estimate, but please explain to me how your guy will charge over almost $2000 more" at this point he started to raise his voice and talk/ (yell) about how he couldnt do anything for me. At this point I realized that an impasse was occurring and being yelled at like I was being insane for trying to negotiate for a car, like this was unheard of. I thanked Victor for his help and asked that he shred my girlfriends application as I had no longer had any desire to do business with This Chevy dealership is there manager treats a client like this. Tim, the hot head then cockily responded that it had to be kept on file for 30 days. I responded "I realize that I was talking about her paperwork." He then started to yell at the salesman for having two credit applications, one for each of us. I replied "oh no, we were buying two cars" his response was "well how about $500 hundred off?" I explained that his demeaning tone, his childish attitude and overall screaming gave me all the reason to not buy one car let alone two. Victor tried to hand us business cards and we rejected them because of Tims attitude. Will this review get me anywhere, probably not, but I hope Tim realizes that screaming like a 10 year old wanting cake, (A.) Wont sell cars (B.) Makes himself and more importantly the dealership look bad (C.) Is definitely leading to high blood pressure and most likely an early death. Ultimately my review is this, sales people are friendly and work with you, avoid Mr. Marozas if you can and hopefully at the very least Mr. Phillipos has a talk with his Used Car Manager. I guess Hawk Chevy or Apple will be the place we buy our cars. Thanks Tim for the clarity Adam B.

I cant tell you where to spend your money, and I cant account for others experiences, but I will recount mine and it has been decent up until today, within the last hour. I initially went to see a vehicle that was over priced to begin with and wasnt "clean" as they described it to be. It was an SUV so I was able to get beneath the vehicle as well as thoroughly inspect the exterior and interior (door was open), and determined it was not the car for me. But Jarred, a salesman there, continued to have communication with me via phone call and text, and assured me that they wanted to work with me, earn my business and to come in and have Tim-the used car manager, do a vehicle search for me. I insisted that they can perform this search and let me know what they find. I dont fancy driving around the Chicagoland area just so someone can do an internet search while "im there", its not necessary. But Jarred insisted I be there. So I took time off of work, thought id give it a shot. I arrive , greeted by a salesman asking who am I there to see, I tell him Jarred and Tim and he tells me Tim is in the hospital: Strike 1. I sit down with salesman, he takes my search parameters/preferences, and is back within 3 minutes and comes back with 1 vehicle. I asked him why isnt this something that could have been done over the phone, and he looked baffled and said "I dont know, it could be though. Not sure why you were told different": Strike 2. He then asks me if I want to speak to a manger. I initially declined, but as I thought about it, I said yes, i do want to speak with a manager. He walks away and is gone for about 5 minutes. I get up to walk towards the side door and see him and another guy in a blue work shirt walk towards the GMC that I did not want, open the door and do a quick walk around, then head back towards the building. While they were walking back, I took a phone call, and noticed the guy who was helping me, standing about 7 feet away, seeming like he was waiting for me to conclude with my call. Before I did, I saw him walk away. I concluded with my call and saw him standing about 15 feet away in front of desk awaiting "something" or "someone", he peered at me and looked away. At this point it was 12:16pm, and I told myself if someone doesnt say something to me by 12:20pm, im walking out. Guess what... By 12:21pm, I was in my car heading towards 294.

On January 3, 2015, I entered the Chevrolet Homewood parking lot. It was cold and rainy and this was the fourth dealership I had visited in the past two weeks. This biggest problem I had with all but one of those previous dealerships was as I walked through their parking lot not one sales person came out to help me. This made me feel they could care less if I did business with them or not, so I left. As I was walking through the Homewood Chevrolet lot, I said if a sales person does not come out here in this cold rain to help me within a minute, I am out. When I turned around, there stood this smiling gentleman. He said, “Hi my name is Aaron Hartman, how may I help you? This made me feel special because he didn’t have a problem coming out in the cold with me. It also said he appreciated the opportunity to gain my business. He listened to me and gave me concrete answers, never once did he show signs of frustration or become frustrated with my many questions and demands. I picked a car I really liked and Aaron took time to explain the car features and the perks that come with the Chevrolet experience, like free car washes; oil changes and tire rotations for a period of time. Wow! I like the perks. Aaron Hartman you truly are an exceptional person with excellent people skills and it was a pleasure doing business with you. I was completely satisfied. Keep that wonderful personality. I also met Derrick Harris the Sales Manager and was equally impressive. He was pleasant and was concerned about my experience. Derrick also ensured I understand know how to navigate through the various functions in my new 2015 Malibu. Once I was told by a previous employer that they were looking for employees who would critique their style. After meeting both you and my Sales person, Aaron Hartman, I would say he definitely compliments your style, friendly, respectful and customer satisfaction. If you’re looking for a Chevrolet, go to Chevrolet of Homewood (on Halsted) and ask for Aaron Hartman as your Sales Person.
