Dont be fooled by their fancy interior and unnecessary decorum plastered across each wall side. Ive never written a review for a place that was really great, or not great for me at all. Maybe something finally struck a chord in me and shoo something loose as I have to write about a specific department at a hospital in Deer Valley. Back to E.D Marshall Jewelers at Shea and like Gold Dust, or Scottsdale Road. I have done this a few times and every place I have ever gone to regarding selling gold items in some way, shape, or form applies essentially the formula for rate, or the cost, or value of something and in this case it is the Gold Cost Ratio for that day which usually floats around $32/gram of 100% pure gold. The rate is then multiplied by the total amount of product that you have in grams AFTER you modify and adjust the rate of gold for that day by ensuring you know what the karat is for the gold item and if it is real gold. The ratios for 10K, 12k, 14k, and 18k will always be the same percentage as to find the percentage of pure gold in the item you need to use the karat and divide that items karat by the number, 24 (standing for the karat amount of 100 gold) and this will give you the following amounts for each karat: 10k = 0.41, 41%; 12 karat = .50, or 50%; 14karat = 0.58, or 58%, and 18 karat is around 0.62, or 62% of that item is gold. Mutiplying these ratios just provided by the Gold Ratio for that day will give you the new amount per gram for the item. Once you have the true amount in grams after adjusting for the karat identified on the item you can multiply that number times the # of grams. **This place in no way follows this paradigm at all as they use contract pricing that essentially is like reference based pricing in that the establishment will only pay out a set amount per unit that they have chosen so they can manage and monopolize their own contract pricing using their own set usual and customary pricing. Its a horrible way to buy gold since it will almost always work out so that the seller gets about 1/8 the amount that they should be getting if the establishment uses a low end formulary variation that I explained initially as then the lowest the seller might get for two gold rings of which were both 4 grams and were 14karat. Per rate and amounts the two rings should bring you in about $120 to $160. E.D. Marshalls Contract pricing for some other usual and customary unit that was not a gram or ounce announced that I would get paid a TOTAL of $22 for both rings. **This is the formulary as I had the agent confirm**

OMG I was in the Avondale location on 1/30/2016 and Tarro Mokhesi (car Salesman) if you know what I mean. He was a joke. I felt sorry for him as he thought I was a woman that was desperate to sell her .70 cts, V.V.S. fine color Diamond ring, mounded on a 14k band, and two other 14 k gold rings. I bought the diamond 48 years ago FROM A DIAMOND WHOLESALER.. I have the appraisal and all, this young buck was dealing with the wrong person. I called him in the morning as he appraised the ring the day before, and I asked him if he would go up in the buying price, and he did give me a higher price, Low and behold this car salesman did the same thing as yesterday, BUT TODAY he decided to take the diamond off the setting to check it further, And of course he already looked stupid to me and looked at his yellow sheet and I already knew he was thinking what he was going to say to me. I saw it he his face. BUT, do you know he also started to put two other fake stones next to mine, and that was it. What the H..., do not mix my stone with those and I did mention that to him. All I wanted was to get the H... out of there. He is a person that is full of himself. Reallyl.. DO NOT GO INTO E D MARSHALL JEWELERS. Read the review!! I am so happy I walked out of there and did not give him my jewelery. Rip Off.

I sent the good people of Marshalls and email regarding some coins I wanted to sell. (I even provided a typed list of the coins I wanted to sell.) No problem but you need to bring them to Scottsdale. I live in Maricopa and Tempe would have been much closer but I complied. Drove out there today and walked into Marshalls and was informed I needed to speak to an individual in the back. When he saw the list I brought with me he said you need to go down the end of the street to a coin store. Nothing in email said another company would be involved. Walked in there and again was told you need to see (did not get his name) in the back. She then yells out to him that I was coming back. I showed the list to him and again I got the same look. I would only be interested in the coins that have silver, not anything else. Why would you send an email telling me to bring the coins to Scottsdale? I am very disappointed in how I was treated. Sure could have saved a great deal of gas. Oh by the way you might want to try Ebay was a remark he made as I left. I cannot recommend this store to anyone wanting to sell coins.

When coming to ED Marshall’s I was unsure what to expect. As I walked in the door I was immediately greeting by a few of their staff members. To my surprise I felt more at home in this jewelry store then I have when walking into chain jewelry stores. They took the time to understand what I was looking for and the variety I was shown shocked me. I fell in love with an all-white GC watch. I had never seen one like this before! This store goes above and beyond to make anyone feel like home; from average day wear to special occasions, this place has it all no matter what your price range is. If any of you are like me I can understand the fear of walking into privately owned jewelry stores, but I can honestly this place has it all! Thank you again to everyone at ED Marshall’s for making my experience a one of a kind!

Felt sorry for the unsuspecting folks sitting in there like cattle waiting to sell jewelry to them. They scratched my good jewelry and even though they said dont worry we will not let it out of your sight and you can even come in the back room and see whats going on with it - they went back on their word. I felt very uncomfortable and after taking apart my jewelry (still not where I could see it) they didnt like that I was in the back room and they referred me to someone else. But I found my own appraiser who did it all right in front of me focusing on our appointment and without a mish mash of stuff going on around us. He sent me a very detailed and thorough appraisal the next day. So it was a blessing I got out of there.
