Yes, this store is in the Plaza, not the ideal spot for the dirtbag climber. However, they have CLIMBING GEAR! Where in all of central KC can you go to and find that??? If you can just make it inside the store, its like a little safe haven of awesomeness. The guys even let me in before they opened to grap a piece a gear. "Anything for climbers!" they said. How cool is that? And they gave me the end of sale discount on my gear! Moosejaw is hilarious, has a great selection on clothes and climbing gear, and are centrally located.

I called in for a shoe to see if they had it. They didnt, but were able to order it in for me. It came in earlier than expected, the shoes fit great and the staff was exceedingly helpful. The guy that helped me, Chad, was very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. I will definitely be spending hundreds of dollars there due to Chad and the other staffs expertise. They were very friendly and all seemed to love their jobs. They even showed me the new tech and they spread their enthusiasm to me about it.

Great toy store. If youre into the outdoors they have a pretty good selection of climbing, camping, and assorted outdoor gear. Friendly and helpful staff, and a fun quirky personality. They are a tad expensive as such places tend to be, but also offer discounts for some local groups which makes it a little more reasonable. They have a little bit of everything, and all of the basics to get you started with climbing.

Moosejaw on the Plaza provides excellent customer service. The employee I dealt with was very educated on backpacking. I am not. He was patient and most helpful. On a separate occasion, the manager went out of his way to fix a mix up resulting from an online order. He provided a remarkably high level of customer service. Good peeps! Plus I love the way they answer the phone....MOOOOOOSEJAW!

Stopped by today with my girlfriend looking at packs. We had an idea of what we were looking for. I asked for help and the first woman admittedly didnt have the best knowledge, but she got her manager and wow. I learned a ton and the original staff person stayed around to learn more about her inventory. I am throughly impress but the knowledge and attentiveness.

One of my favorite stores at the CC Plaza because not only is it outdoor gear but they have a ping pong table and serve the occasional adult beverage (i couldnt believe it either! Ive only seen it happen once fyi). Great quality of gear and the staff all seems like they love working there and are ready to help!

Most of the employees tend to be rude or creepy at best. This last visit, the guy behind the register began to openly hit on me. Besides the fact that I am a heterosexual, this behavior is not a good way to ensure return business. It is unlikely that I will ever do business with Moosejaw again.

Save your gas. Go to backwoods or dynamic earth. The parking, crowds, and atmosphere outside the store make for a less than ideal experience. The store is nice, the staff is friendly, but selection is a bit limited. Worth a stop in if you are already on the, plaza though.

Overall a good outdoor store, but the last tow times I went in the customer service was bad. I stood around waiting for 5 to 10 minutes and no on ever came to help me try shoes on.

Has big ticket items but if you need to grab any last minute items on your way out of town, you could leave empty handed. Fun and quirky atmosphere though.
