My wife took my daughter to the store to buy a new pet for her birthday and the clerk was about as rude as he could be. The store was almost completely empty of customers and they wanted to see a guinea pig and she just wanted a little info on it as well. The man said to her right out that unless she plans to buy it hes not getting the keys to open the cage thing so that they can hold it and feel it . She was very taken back buy this and politely asked is that store policy he then replied no Im just tried of everyone wanting to hold them only to not buy one or not even having the money too. Now feeling a bit insulted she still politely asked can she get any information about them and he looked her in the eyes and quickly said youll need to Google it. So they left the store insulted & offended yet without making a seen "I am amazed" . Well thank you Petco I hope your little $8.50 an hour store clerk is doing you very well we actually own are own business and net probably 15 to 20 times his salary a year for one and thank you again because the clerks at Petsmart are amazing they told us all the pros/cons and everything else we asked of them so now we are the owners of two pretty little parakeets and between them and all the other costs like a cage, food, vitamins, toys, plus plus plus we spent just $8.50 short of $200. YOUR PAYING HIM TO NOT MAKE YOU MONEY! DUMB A** .

We came in knowing mostly what we needed for our new hermit crab but, when we requested assistance from the employees, they were both knowledgeable and courteous. They were surprised and excited that we had done our research and commended us on our effort to make sure our new friends had a proper home. It was refreshing to see employees truly care about the animals in their care and, for that, I will bring my business back to them anytime.

Prices are very high even the Petco discount card dont make a difference. Every transaction should save something on your purchase like in super centers around the area.Fish are very high priced and they arent even rare species.They should have more live fish sales like petsmart with their $1.00-$2.00 per fish sales. We love pets and we love to spoil them but it shouldnt be so expensive to do so.

Apparently Petco doesnt price-match its own website! Went for an item that was $11.99 online, but $19.99 in-store, and their policy is that they dont match their own prices... Unbelievable.

People are so friendly in there but you cannot find sale associates when you need one but when you do they are apologetic and courteous.
