Dirty and Rude! I usually go to the Pet Smart in Greenbrier, until I moved to Ghent. My first time attending this Banfield, they did not give me my perscription card or heart worm medicine I paid for. Understandable this is partially my fault, however I did not realize until it was time for my dogs heart worm medicine. I feel like the polite thing would have been to give me a call. I called to let them know the situation, they informed me they still had it and would hold it for me until the next day. The next day I went in and I had to wait for them to make it..... So I went shopping. Then I went back to the counter with only One employee who is signing people up for banfield insurance. I waited 45 MINUTES just for her to HAND the medicine to me when she was done with them.... youve got to be kidding me. I went back for my check up 2 weeks later and to be put in a room that was not swept all day. There was so much fur, and all different gross other pets fur. Who wants to walk out covered in several of other peoples animal fur. Gross. I just called to make an appointment for the groomers and asked about an appointment, said they were booked until next week and i said i would call back. the young girl replied "No thank you" and hung up!! WHAT IN THE WORLD! I do NOT like this PetSmart! The Greenbrier PetSmart is fabulous and above standards!!!

Petsmart sold me a chinchilla who weighed half of what he should weigh. He had seizures five days after I purchased him. I returned him to them to have him seen by the vet at Banfield then picked him up the same day. Later he got even more sick so I took him to a vet who told me he was severely underweight and that was what caused his seizures. When I went to Petsmart to see his paperwork from Banfield they told me that the vet didnt perform any tests on him while he was there and just "observed" him to see if hed have any more seizures. I asked if he was weighed and they said he was, but did not show me his paperwork. I dont know how they could not know that he weighed less than half of what he should weigh. He also had parasites. I dont know how they could sell such a sick pet. If he were a cat or dog they would have known he was so underweight. They shouldnt sell pets that they dont know how to take care of.

The trainer is amazing but grooming is quite sloppy, we had taken my pup in who at the time was at the end of her heat, she hadnt been bleeding at the time but did leave a small spot on the table (she wasnt leaving trails of blood of course or I wouldnt even take her in) the woman who did her nails was very rude to my wife about it and when it came to clean her ears she was rough and didnt get much out, since there are windows she was making faces. If you cant handle a little blood (a small spot that is)or cleaning a dogs ears maybe you shouldnt be a groomer (: I just wish the nails would have been cut a little even, and her ears cleaned properly if she had an issue she could have been polite I wouldnt have gotten upset but I held my tongue. She was probably new or something

Went to see the cats for adoption with my kids and the employee/volunteer practicly didnt want me seeing them. Right away she stated the cats are not good with other cats or kids. I went inside the room myself to see the cats and barely even touched the one I wanted to see because this employee/volunteer blocked the cage and was petting the cat herself not even letting me get to know the cat. And she questioned why I wanted to see the cats too before I entered the room. If I was serious to adopt or just looking. Either way she didnt seem to want us there. How are we suppose to adopt a cat with someone like that being in charge of the cat adoptions. Friendlier staff is definitely needed!!

ABSOLUTE WORST GROOMERS! They use to have decent people working in there and now they they only employ the lazy, inexperienced groomers. They decide to call and lie to me about my dog in an attempt to upsell me services I dont need. If my dog was they way they stated he was, I would have taken him to the vet! No way I will ever come back after my last experience! Dont welcome my dog, wait for me to leave the store and then call me trying charge me double!!! Took my groomed on a regular basis dog to a groomer who can actually handle his coat and knows what to do with dual coats. Not worth the money and definitely not worth the headache.

Everytime I go into the store I have no problem. Everybody seems friendly but Everytime I call Banfield I get an attitude... Today the lady who answered my call got an attitude and then hung up on me even though I didnt get an attitude back when she was being so nasty. Im so disgusted with the customer service they have... Ive called them several times and Everytime its the same attitude. I ended up calling the one in Virginia Beach and the lady who answered was so nice and helpful. If somebody cant even treat another human being with a mutual respect imagine how they treat animals

Every time I take my dog to this location he gets sick , from the grooming to his checkups, grooming was not good at all , the nurse do not look professional at all , they never wear gloves when they touch my dog, is this the reason why he gets sick ? , I dont know, my dog is a inside dog and should not be having these sickness at all , the vet always tells me he is healthy but when I bring him home hes sick , so am I really getting a good exam when I bring him in ? Next appt. I will be addressing my problems , but as of today I can say Im not happy at all with my services :(

Comparing PetSmart to Petco, PetSmart is the lesser of two evils. Youll run into less people that dont know the animals or products compared to Petco; for example: most of them know that you cant bathe hamsters in water, but theyll try to sell you Dust bath for hamsters because the store may not carry what hamsters properly need which is a sand bath. If you give your hamster dust, you can create a whole bunch of bronchial issues for your hamster because the dust is too fine.

The staff are all so friendly, and were such a great help when my family adopted our tuxedo cat a couple months ago. Even when I do stop in now and then for more supplies (and soon birthday toys for our cats birthday month!), there is always at least one person who will stop by and ask if im finding what I need. The atmosphere there is very welcoming, I look forward to continuing to visit!

If you ever have to call them be prepared to stay on the phone forever and transferred many times. The staff is not helpful, their in store pick up is completely messed up, they never have enough people for the registers. The only plus is the animals do seem to be well maintained. Theyre prices are cheaper than petco but petco price matches so thats where Ill be going from now on.
