This place is truly of the lowest caliber and they dont deserve your business even in an emergency...ESPECIALLY in an emergency. Who in their right mind would patronize a place like this? Bottom line: They dont deserve to be in business. They dont care about pets, and they certainly dont care about customers. Our new puppy got sick after eating something outside that he shouldnt have, and my vet said to treat him immediately. I stopped by the West Allis store hoping to find the OTC medication my vet directed us to use (which I heard cost around $40). The other pet stores in the area dont carry it. It was about 10 minutes before they opened, but since there was a male employee filling a bin near the door I figured I would just inquire whether they carried the product before waiting around for opening -- I had a toddler in the car. When I knocked on the window, I asked if I could quickly ask him something -- this guy looked at me, but refused to acknowledge me. I was shocked when he turned around and IGNORED me and decided to stare at the bin he was filling instead. I knocked again, and suddenly another woman barged out and screamed at me that ... a place like this? Bottom line: They dont deserve to be in business. Im a SUV driving suburban mom dressed for work. Its more than obvious that Im a customer who needed two seconds of assistance, and hardly what a thinking person would perceive as a threat. These folks were NOT interested in what brought me to their store. They were simply lazy employees who were very angry at having been asked to help someone before they clocked in for the day. These people cost whoever owns this business a potential sale, and certainly ANY future business from me. Spend your time and hard earned money at one of the locally owned stores where the owners and workers REALLY care about helping you and your pet.

Please do not give this store your business! The other Pet World Warehouse that I visited was fairly nice but this one is horrible. I visited because I prefer to shop from locally owned stores but their treatment of their birds is completely inexcusable. Their parakeets are crowded into extremely tiny cages, there are at least 10 birds in each cage that I would call a bare minimum for a single parakeet. The grates on all the cages are disgusting, the water is not clean, and the floor is littered with bird waste, thrown food, and feathers. This bird room STINKS and looks like it hasnt been properly swept in weeks. Their large parrots are kept in terrible conditions. One of the Goffins cockatoos was was perched puffed up with his eyes closed, breathing extremely heavily, shaking, and not moving. He was covered in some kind of disgusting brown oil and looked like he was at deaths door. This bird is one of the sickest I have ever seen in person. A pionus next to this bird was very ruffled and dirty though not as sick as the cockatoo. The end of the room had a few larger cages; one with a severe macaw. When I walked up to him I was just appalled. From across the room he looked pretty alright, no picked feathers or gross oil covering him. He waddled up to the front of the cage and I noticed one of his toes had been broken at one point because the toe had healed facing the completely wrong direction and the nail was also growing in at a really wonky angle. When I told one of the employees they simply said " Yeah, we know." and continued with their day. There was an amazon next to him in what I thought was a reddish cage with white scratches. When I walked up to it, I realized it was actually a white cage that had red pellet dust CAKED onto it. None of the birds have adequate toys, most didnt have any, and most of the larger parrots have only 1 perch, which can create serious problems with their feet. The fish room also had sick animals and the reptile room had many escaped crickets and lizards which I saw darting on the walls.

Why am I not surprised this place has terrible reviews? I wish there was another pet store closer to me, but Ill make the drive just to stay away from this place. Theres a lot of employees that have no idea what they are doing. The first time I came with my daughter to get small animal pet food. I was followed around the store. I was carrying my wallet.. No purse or bag. Yet this employee was just following us around and watching us get the pet food. It was insulting and rude. I didnt say anything and let it go. The next time I brought the small animals we have to get their nails clipped. Way over priced! Considering the fact that they looked terrible afterwards. They were in a small carrier and didnt see the nail trim job until after we got home. So many were still pretty long and a couple very short! I dont think she knew what she was doing :( and I spent a lot of money so I expect them to do a decent job. It looked like they just didnt even try or care. Today my daughter accidently broke the animals water holder so my husband gave me his card to go get a new one. Well the card wasnt signed so they couldnt accept it. I asked if they could just ring it in as debit. I know the pin number.. if I stole someones card I wouldnt know the pin. They dont even offer that type of payment so then she asked me what the last 4 digits of the card was. So they refused to use my card because it wasnt signed but offered to use it if I knew the last digits of the card. "Huh?!" I could have just written on it with Sharpie if I stole it and used it. This method makes absolutely no sense to me. Stuck up employees who have no idea what they are doing. Im so done with this place.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I had an issue with the store not accepting their coupon. I was told by the manager that they could not accept the coupon as the item was on "sale" & they would lose money by honoring their own coupon. The manager was unable to assist me further and indicated that only the 3 owners could resolve my issue. I left messages for owner Mike on 12/31/2016, 1/3/2017, 1/10/2017, 1/13/2017 & 2/15/2017, with owner Diane on 1/18/2017 & 2/15/2017 and with owner Dan on 1/18/2017, NEVER receiving a single return call. I was in the area of the Menomonee Falls store today and stopped in to see if owner Diane was available. She was. When I mentioned my issue to her, she immediately became defensive & indicated she did not agree with me - that because the item was on sale, they could not accept their own coupon (just an FYI - the coupon indicates its not valid with other "offers" & they consider a sale an offer). When I asked why she & others hadnt returned any of my calls, she told me that it was due to the fact that they did not agree with me, and then she walked away. Ive never been treated so rudely by a store owner in my LIFETIME! Looks like Ill be looking for another place to do business! I truly wish I didnt have to give them even 1 star in this review, but must in order to get my rating and review out to the general public.
