Working here was like being a dog asking for a treat and instead receiving a muzzle and a rolled up newspaper. I made it my mission to appeal to management. I cleaned my belt (i was a cashier at the time) thoroughly about 5 times a day, I asked if there was work to be done at all times, when my managers asked me to do something, I did it no hesitation. Theres also a familiar spot in the store called the "treat wall". I would face this religiously, and management agreed I was doing great work. I gave 10/10 customer service. I even went to so far as to receive 2 honorary cards representing my care. Theyre called CARE cards, and you receive them for going above and beyond. If this wasnt enough, I was successful in my efforts to obtain donations for our canned food drive for ARF. I even got recognized for this and congratulated by management. I was ecstatic. Management moved my hours after all this down. From about 12 hours in the week I was moved to 9. You cant live on 9 hours a week. Nobody even warned me of this. I dont know what I did. I honestly had no idea what was so bad about myself. I faced, I volunteered to stay late, I was passionate about my job, my customer service was great, etc. Management here did NOT care that I had bills to pay. I have never struggled more with life than when I had a job here. Now with my new job, Ironically, I can afford to feed my dog again :)

On a recent visit to get my dog Hollie groomed, I happened to meet up with the groomer on the way to the salon. My dog started shaking her head and I mentioned that was unusual. The groomer, Daniille, immediately reacted though, saying "Shes having a seizure"! She immediately went down to the floor to hold my dog, who was now in a full grand mal seizure and screamed for help from the vet clinic. Someone came right away and Danielle took Holle back to the vet. An exam did not show anything - it appears that she just got freaked out and had the seizure. The grooming appointment was rescheduled. I carried her in to Danielle and she took incredible care of her. I found out that day Danielle was being promoted and moving to another Petsmart. While this was sad, its good to know someone that knows her stuff, grooms impeccably and could immediately diagnose a seizure is now in charge of a salon. She basically saved Hollies life - and I will be always thankful for her actions.

Ive been going to this store at least twice (if not more) a week for close to two months. For the most part my visits to this store are positive. Most of the employees are very helpful and can answer my questions. The store is always clean and they usually have what Im looking for in stock. I only have a problem with one of the cashiers. Ive had the same cashier every time except once. She is always polite to the people in front of and behind me but she always comes off cold to me. She never greets me or my dog nor does she offer him a treat, she does not ask for my petsmart card, she never says thanks or goodbye, and very rarely will she hand me my bag. This store is close and it is convenient for me to stop at on my way home from work but Ill be switching to a store that is out of the way so that I can avoid my less than pleasant check out experience.

I have witnessed potential abuse and mistreatment at this location at the Petshotel. I have seen employees repeatedly spraying dogs while at the hotel. The dogs appeared scared and tried to run away. I was thinking of enrolling my dog in day care but now I do not know. I brought this up with another associate and he did not help me. I brought it up with the manager and she said that it is protocol to keep the dogs in control. I believe it is terribly cruel to be spraying dogs with water or whatever it was they were doing. It is considered a form of animal cruelty. If Petsmart cannot control dogs in a proper way, why would they open a day care in a closed atmosphere with so many dogs. They are bound to get on each others nerves. Spraying them with water is definitely not the answer.

Ive been taking my 3 year old dog here since we first got him for nail cutting and baths. It has always been okay up until now, my dog snapped at one of the groomers. He never does this, I was curious to know what had happened. They refused to cut his nails, I take him out of the place right after to find that he had a fairly large scratch on his belly, wonder where that came from. I wont be taking my dog here again, very unprofessional staff. would be a better use of my time to take him to the dog district or a profesional groomer.

My cat was happy but I was not. There were 3 registers and only one was in use, and the young man needed to wait for some gentleman to open his register with a special key in order to continue. The line continued to grow and this entire process ended up taking almost half an hour just to make a coupon work for this woman in front of me! unacceptable. They need to train their employees so they can have this key in case of this situation. NOT the first time this has happened!

Maxx has gone there before to get haircuts.....quite a few times. Today groomer was very rude.....manhandled Maxx when we first got in...and then calls me an hour later saying he cant do Maxx today because hes not cooperating ......umm yeah because u probably made him feel uncomfortable. Other groomers have been able to do Maxx just fine...I had a funny feeling with this employee I think his name is Jay. Terrible attitude.

I myself was treated very rudely, on the phone before I took my pups in, I was told that "We have a lot of dogs I cant really talk to you right now" when they needed my information. Not impressed with my whole experience, my dogs were damp when I picked them up 3 and a half hours later.. For a shedless bath. I was so worried the whole time they were there. Also very expensive. We wont be going back

If I could leave zero stars, I would! Only petsmart pays their employees to stand at the enterence to turn away customers. I understand there are some renovations happening, however, if you are not allowing people to shop the doors should be locked and closed to the general public. I am sure the CEO of the company loves paying people to turn away their customers.

Ive been going to this petsmart off and on for YEARS and the staff has always been friendly, the dog trainers amazing, the groomers patient, and the selection to notch. Always clean and quick to take care of any animal accidents, this is probably my favorite petsmart in the western suburbs for layout, lighting, and staff.

I have to say this because my past experience there was unprofessional and unacceptable. Rhea and Cole were 2 of the most disrespectful inconsiderate people to their staff (yes theyre managers) and to me as a customer. I will never go back and Im reaching out to corporate to notify them of these problems.
