On Dec. 20, 2009 I went in to pick up a teeter totter for our kids Christmas present. I asked Mike B. to get it from the back. He said give him 20 minutes and hed have it at Customer Care. No problem. 20 minutes later it wasnt there and thats cool. Again, no problem. I approached the guy at the kiosk (who was standing by himself) and told him why I was there and ask if he had seen it. He replied, "We are really busy". I laughed. I asked if he could maybe radio Mike B. and see if he could bring it up. He replied, "We are just really busy!" No offer to help...just, "We are busy". I thought, "Arent you busy because Im in here spending money?" So I said, never mind and went to check out my other $120 worth of merchandise. Then it got crazy! I saw a manager, blue shirt, and decided to ask him. Hes a manager, surely he can find a way to talk to Mike B. I approached and he was talking to an employee. He turned and looked at me and I said, "Excuse me Sir". He replied to me...not the employee, "Wait just a minute" I wish I could type his tone. I laughed. when I said I just have a question he replied loudly with both hands pointing at me (like a cricket referee) "Im talking to him (employee) right now and I will help you in a minute". I turned to leave. He spoke very loudly at this point and said, "Im here to help you". I said, "really, cause it seems like you are too busy" He went off. Loud and hands a pointin" I walked away. I regretfully bought $10 more stuff and was in line when I noticed he was watching me. So I thought...thats it! I walked up to him and said, "Excuse me, Id like to know what your name is. (its Sam Burgess) He told me his name and said very loudly, "Im here to help you!". I said, "are you sure or are you just going to chew my butt out again?". He lost it and yelled and pointed, "Well you chewed my butt out...etc...etc.." to which I walked away! I too am in the people business. Customer Care is vital! Too busy, too cranky and too stressed to deal with a customer means you really should find another profession! Sam, Im not out for blood...I just want my Cedar Park Academy back! However, only after you are gone will I spend another dollar there. Oh and if the statistic is true that every unhappy customer will tell 7 people...Im taking care of my 7 and a couple more too! 1) Ordered some shoes online. (because of the poor selection in the store) 2) I wanted to order 3 pair...but the ordering software would not let us order more than "two" pairs at a time. So I had to place two separate orders. (poor ordering software) 3) All of them were the wrong width when they arrived... even though the width had been emphasized in the order. (poor service at the distribution center) 4) When I arrived at the store, I needed to talk to the "shoe-guy" at the front register. He refused to come up there, saying he was not allowed to leave his dept. (very poor customer service) 5) Finally walked back there and asked the shoe-guy why my order had been shipped wrong. Was it just a mistake at the distribution center? Was it a mistake in ordering? Does my shoe width in this shoe even exist? He didnt know and was not about to take any steps to find out why. (More poor customer service) 6) So I had to get him to contact his store supervisor. He wasnt about to do (or think of it) on his own. (More poor customer service) 7) The store supervisor (the one overseeing the shoe dept). finally showed up. Again, all the same questions were asked of him .He had no answers and made no attempt to find any. And...no apologies either. He just walked off. (very poor customer service) So you might want to think twice before you make Academy Sports your go-to place for shoes.

Im a 34 Hispanic female.. Born and raised in Austin,tx round rock,tx and well mostly in Wilco county.. Im 34 but dress like Im still in my twentys.. I walked in and I had about 4 to 5 employees walking around and looking and not being on the low about it either. Man I picked something up and they mad a football huddle.. I was like wow.. So I moved on over to the shoes where again I was being hounded this time by 3 workers.. Thats when I got a phone call from my husband to tell me that they ran him off kuz he had there shoes on walking around looking for me to see if I agree with it.. But instead they kicked him out and thats when I gotten the call with him telling me .. I was so embarrassed about this whole situation that I will never in my life got back to that judgmental profiling store ever again.. Richard Castillo the manager needs to move on down from being a manager to a regular floor assistance team member..this just tells you he has no training in that manager line of work.. never go back there again l neve My first and last time

My brother and i were recently at this Academy,my brother was injured in an accident so its difficult for him to walk.I put him in the wheel chair so he wouldnt have to be in pain.We were trying to find things such as lures for our Fathers birthday .The manager then proceeded to have other employees Stalk us and asked multiple times if he was really crippled, they then followed us outside because they still didnt believe us.We found our experience here very rude and told our mother,I will and wouldnt ever go to Academy on 1890 Ranch EVER AGAIN.

I had a very good experience with this store and their staff. I had an unfortunate experience with receiving a portable basketball goal as a gift only to find out that they were prohibited in my neighborhood. The store director (Mike) was very accommodating and graciously allowed us to return the fully assembled goal, no questions asked. Without a receipt, the staff helped me remove the basket from my vehicle and issued me a gift card. Every employee we encountered were very polite and helpful. I will continue to shop at this location.

I almost left this store five minutes after walking in, I went in to buy ammunition for a hunt and ended up seeing and hearing the guy at the gun counter grinning at my girlfriend while he started talking about how much he loves to hear animals scream when he shoots them and that he purposely takes shots to injure the animal instead of a clean kill so that he can watch it scream and bleed to death and that his family members beg him to kill the animal but he stands there to watch the animal die slowly.

The store was quite crowded! Especially the shoe dept. Back to school, I guess! However there were several employees around and all of them offered their assistance from time to time. Not obnoxious, but just enough to show their attentiveness. One young man even helped me find the right size color I was looking for. So overall my experience was good! Unfortunately, you cant help the absurd number of people moving into this area... or can you...!?
