Beware! Bait & Switch Scam! $1685 job turns into $4634 at Home Depot I was pricing flooring for a new construction project in my home. I went to Home Depot, right seems to make sense? My project has a contractor working already but I needed flooring and a floor installations. When I look around I found flooring at a great price starting at .89 per square foot and up. I picked one that was 1.49 per sq ft and was told by an employee in that department that installation was on sale for .89 per square foot. Great deal .89 plus 1.49 equals $2.38 per sf my job is 706 square feet, 706 x $2.38 equals $1685. Awesome!! heres my credit card right! nope hold on now. The Home Depot employee says he has to put in on their computer to get the final price. $4634.31says the computer. I have the print out, they give no details on how they got to this amount. Salesperson says its for molding, moving furniture, transitions etc and etc. I say I dont need most of that stuff! he says he cant do anything about it. I need to get a measurement which cost $35 bucks and than someone will call me and I can work it out with them what I need or dont need. So I really want to save that money so I pay the $35, meet the guy at the house, he measures, but wont discuss the job with me in anyway. Measures and leaves, tells me someone will call me in 24-48 hours? Next night at young lady calls who knows nothing about flooring starts reading me the details of the $4634 invoice. I say I dont need that, I dont want that etc, she puts me on hold and says she has to talk to her manager. 20 minutes later another person picks up says shes the manager and everyone when home for the day and I should go back to the store to discuss my issues. Total rip off. Beware.

Last night (7/19/16) I purchased a new lawnmower for discounted price. It wouldnt start. Took it back less than 24 hours later to exchange it for another new lawnmower. They refused to honor my discounted price I that received and told me I had to purchase it for a full price. The reason behind this was because I didnt know the managers name who gave me the discount. Why do I need to know his name when #1, I described him, so therefore you can look on the schedule to see what manager(s) was on duty last night that reflect that description and , #2 I have the receipt showing the price and date purchase ?! Needless to say, I went to Sears and gave them my money and received a lawnmower that started right out of the box with one pull. Ive had too many stupid incidents at this store. For now own I will just drive out of the way to go another Home Depot or just go to a much brighter, cleanly kept Lowes. The lawnmower was:Yard Machines Model # 11A-B9A9729, 21 in. 163cc . Fine. I get it. They call it Hell-mont for a reason. I understand that this store is located in what some consider as a "bad area"and therefore there is a lot of extra security. Someone to check your receipt. Someone to follow you around. Someone to sexually harass you. Wait, what? As a female customer I absolutely loathe going into this store. Not only are many of the male employees, in my experience, not knowledgeable when questioned but, theyre also always willing to throw in some bonus sexual harrassment for kicks. In addition to that, the selection is low on a number of items. Maybe there are sufficient contracting supplies but for the casual home-fix: light fixture, outdoor items, doors, windows -- its worth the extra drive to the Lowes in Garden City to have options, good customer service and be treated like a person/not a criminal.this the best homedepot around

This was undoubtedly the WORST Home Depot I have ever had the misfortune of visiting. Will never be giving any business to this store again. Employees are too busy chatting amongst each other to provide customer service. After you have offended them by asking for assistance they are uneducated about the products and basic store policies. It is amazing that Home Depot wouldnt invest more time training these employees or ensuring they are giving good customer service, especially since their competitor lowes is fantastic with that. Products are too easily available elsewhere for customers to have to put up with this nonsense. After your customers have had that experience it is unlikely they will entrust you with any more of their business. Horrible Horrible Horrible!!!

I purchased an air conditioner at the end of the season last year. I just put the same air conditioner in the window and there is an issue with the cord. I called the store (#1208) and spoke to Deidre Brown who at first said she was the supervisor then when I asked to speak to her superior she said she was the manager on duty. Deidre Brown told there was nothing she could do. I wasnt looking for my money back just an even exchange. I wasnt allowed to speak to Deidres supervisor, explained that my son has asthma and my 20 month old grandson was staying with me. I was told there was nothing that could be done to help me. Im very disappointed with Home Depot as Ive always thought they were a stand up company. I am sure this matter will handled properly and promptly.

Like every other Home Depot in America, the store is huge! So it makes looking for an employee for help down right frustrating. Better yet, I have a better chance of finding Jesus first. Once you locate an employee, its not the right one for that department. He/she claims one will be right with you, 182 months later, youre still waiting. Now, youre completely fed up. You have 2 options, either walk out or have a huge attitude. Depending on how badly you need said item. Lets not even talk about the outrageous attitudes the employees have......word of advice. Avoid ALL Home Depots when possible!!
