I disagree with both of you compared with the other HDs in the city, where finding someone to help you is like finding a needle in a hay stack, I find the people come up and ask if the can be of help. Its a brand new store (huge and beautiful I might add) it will take some of the employees a bit longer to help you search for your product; which i might add less then the average consumer knows what he/she is searching for to be a DIYer. The parking... well it shouldnt be a surprise, this is New York at least theres no dealing with midtown traffic amongst other things and im guessing parking maybe even a bit more. Here, one drives into a parking spot no headaches, well except for the $2.40. Heck, while youre here shop at Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, BJs or any of the other soon to open retailers. I personally cant wait for the waterfront to open. NO, i dont work for any of these store nor, am i working in marketing for them. I do live uptown and find this a bit more convenient, but weighing the aforementioned inconveniencies...in my opinion 23, 59th, upper east sides, bronx HDs there all the same, including the "ghetto mentality" (thought...diversity?). Which, if i can... "ghetto mentality" I think should be renamed "Oh, its a just a job mentality" because I feel the hospitality in most New York retail and grociers suck (only the big guys care if you spend money there). Believe me ive been to them all . Oh, the 2 train to 149 Grand concourse or the D to 161 gets you a lot closer. I found out theres a BX18 or 19 bus from 145 ST in Harlem that goes straigt across. Peace, Im off to Home Depot to buy some window screens, Ive got this fly problem. This is a easy DIYer.

I ordered and item online for pick up and a couple of minutes later my order was cancelled. According to the automative message the item I chose was no longer in stock. I called customer service the next day to resolve the issue because apparently they had my product in store. After 27 minutes, someone finally picked up and she had an attitude already. She was very rude and was no help at all. I never understood how they have rude aggressive people working customer service. She then put me on hold again for another 20 minutes because apparently without a confirmation number I cant be helped. During that last 20 minutes I took it upon myself to walk over to Home Depot and figure out the issue myself. The only reason i gave 3 stars is because an employee helped me out with finding my item, the same exact item I purchased. I spoke to a manager and got a discount on an item that was similar but more expensive and the rude lady in customer service was addressed right in front of my face. Hire people who want to work and dont give people attitudes. By the way when I left the store is when i officially hung up with customer service. That time read 1 hour and 12 minutes. That woman was just hoping I hung up the phone so she didnt have to deal with my problem. After putting me on hold. She never picked up the phone again, meanwhile there was another customer service rep right next to her.

I go to this Home Depot every time because I live closer to this one then any other. I can HONESTLY tell you that 60% - 80% of the time you will be chasing a working or catch them trying to avoid you. Also if youre very familiar with the English language and its body language share within the area you know when an individual is being very dismissive. Fast responses/rebudles,.... as if we clients are a bother to there work. I catch them mostly walking like they are strolling like someone with no coffee, breakfast, (energy) and they just need to last one more hour before their shift is over. Or like they themselves are clients because most do not know and tell me to ask one of the other worker. Where is the training, where is the manners, where is the manager? You must know what you are going to buy, you must be familiar with the store, or just have lots of patients, and be VERY detailed with questions IF you can catch a worker. What I despise of this store the most is,... NO HYDROPONIC SECTION!!!

Okay so like all of my experiences on 149th the things start in a good place only to go dark quickly. So I have only had the glory of dealing with their paint department so my opinions are regulated to thoses experiences alone. So seeing has I painted my whole apartment I had to visit a few times and though I have gone at different times of the day this department is always very busy and overwhelmed and I have been early in the morning. Additional the staff seems always annoyed and distracted and offhandish when asked questions regarding the department. They run out of supplies often and no reassurance given regarding restocking. My preference though occasionally inconvenient is the Lexington Ave store and thus far has appeared to be the bar in terms of customer service and inventory access. And full disclosure I have gone to the Gunhill location once an hour before close on a speed round shop and my interaction was slightly better than 149th but not Lexington Ave.

Say what you will about this HD but Ive just had one of the best experiences. I had bought these Boston ferns online. I loved them and the fact that they clean the air. But they are hard to manage and can get quite messy w/ falling leaves. I got there early and I guess I did not have all the proper shipping paperwork for the return. As much as i appreciate her trying Eliana couldnt find my order anywhere in the system. Thank You. Then comes Elizabeth to my rescue. Im really grateful for all her effort in trying to help me. She seemed very knowledgable of her work and answered my questions thoroughly. Give her a raise or give her a promotion. Elizabeth knows exactly what customer service is about!! Thank you ladies so much.

bought a refrigerator from them on 6/17 with promised delivery on 6/24--on 6/23 got 2 phone calls confirming delivery next day so wife removed old ref. in morning to prep. they never came and didnt even call to explain. called the store they said not our problem, cant even track till 6/26 ( mean while I have no ref.). on 6/26 after hours on phone found out manufacturer never sent to trucking company. finally got it on 6/30 after having to buy a mini ref, having to take a day off to wait for delivery, and throwing out more than $200 worth of food. home depot still says not their problem. I bought from home depot, if your logistics chain is screwed up its your problem not mine and I should be reimbursed for losses

I need it help with blinds for my room. I ask for help and wait it 30 minute for held that did not arrive. I got tire of waiting and when to ask for the manager which was not available. This girl name obika was calling the managers one name mike and another call Jason. Neither show up for another 20 or 30 minute. Obika could not even tell me what was going on and when I ask for the manager name, she refuse to provide me with the names. Then I ask another girl at the check out and she was kind enough to tell me the names. Do not shop here if you have question or need help because you will not get any at all... Go to 23rd street where customer service is the best and you do not need to ask for help.
