When I came to return shades - the supervisor Devin Wayne managed to turn around my terrible experience from the previous day to an excellent one. He accepted my return without me waiting on line, went with me to the window decoration department, supervised the measuring and cutting process, went with me to the cashier and even presented me with an unexpected discount because I had to come to return those shades in terrible snow/rain. People like Devin Wayne make the image of Home Depot professionally excellent and humanly warm. I have to leave four stars on the account of the terrible experience with salesperson Veronica I had the previous day. On the previous day I was waiting 23 minutes while she was helping people who had come earlier than me and after she finished with them she picked up a person who had just come at the time when the customers I was waiting for were leaving and was busy with them for another 15 minutes. I went to look for another person to help me because I was very upset with such unfairness. The person who was sitting in front of the computer in that department, an Indian gentlemen, told to me that there is nobody to take my complaint or to help me beside that salesperson – Veronica. He told to me that the same salesperson Veronica is also the supervisor and I can complain to her! He did not tell me his name and just sent me back to her. To punish me for walking around and trying to complain, Veronica cut both shades I was buying 2 inches shorter than my old shade I had brought as a reference. With a nice smile she told to me – to please come again. So I came again the next day to return the short shades, Veronica was off. I think that it could be very helpful for the people who work there to have their names placed on their aprons so that they can be accountable for their service. This way a customer does not have to write something like ‘Indian gentleman’ and this gentleman would be not able to insult the customer with an ugly lie and feel good about himself. I live nearby, just a 30 minute’s walk, and have been coming to that Home Depot for the last ten years pretty often and most of my experiences with the service is on the good side. Besides this one - with Veronica and Indian gentleman team - I had only one really ugly experience, the man who was really bad professionally and very wicked as a human. I can understand if the salesperson does not know something but I cannot understand rudeness and wickedness. Most personnel of the Home Depot are good natured people and some of them are even very nice and sweet. I read one feedback here about small and terrible bathroom - probably this is an error. The bathroom is big, very clean and always plenty of supply. Lucy

I am giving it 3 stars because it is usually decent, although like any home depot getting real help is 1 out of 10 when you find that really good employee. The experience I write about it 1 star by far, and not the only time. I went to visit the store today in Long Island City. 50-10 Northern Blvd. 11/04/14 Around 9:15 AM. First off I went to return stuff, and I was greeting by Shavon. She was so friendly and helpful, and was a really great team member. I want to thank her for being such a great employee. After that I went to go look for a humidifier. I got pointed multiple times to the dehumidifiers, and eventually was told to wait in an isle for someone who was paged for me. 10 minutes later after no one showed up I gave up. (and never purchased what I came there for). I did get a tiny mold kit and 12 of rope. There was no one in the area to help me with the rope, so I cut the appropriate length with the shears that were there, and measured it out, and even took a detailed picture of the sku/barcode so I can be rung up. So I get to the register and Michael is helping me, and he says he has to call someone to measure it, because he isnt sure of the length. He calls someone then the person behind me shows him that there is a ruler at the register he can lay it against and measure it with. The cashier says" I cant reach 12 high". We ask him to measure it in half at 6 feet, or do foot by foot, and he simply says "Im not using that" So after 5 minutes of waiting for someone at the register, I just switched lines and the other register lady was willing to help me by using the ruler built into the register station, and not ignoring it saying he didnt care. After that I went to the customer service station to ask for the store manager. (I spoke to Shavon again and she was still super friendly even though she knew something was wrong with me) The store manager started to say "he is new and and he would need a sku to ring it up." I told her I had it for him, but he didnt want to measure it, and she was trying to make excuses for his rudeness and lack of caring, instead of being concerned that one of her register people pissed off three different parties in line. So not only did I not get the bigger ticket item I came for, I ended on that very sour note.

My contractor and I had chosen cabinets, counters, and other supplies and fixtures for my kitchen at this HD a few days earlier. We arrived with our written list and a rental truck and went to the Contractor Services desk to get help organizing our pieces for loading. There, we were assigned to Rosa R., who took us to the shelving areas and arranged for several flatbed carts. Once we arrived at the kitchen area for cabinets, sinks, countertops, and range hoods, we were helped by Lashawn, the resident expert, and boy, was she ever EXPERT! She immediately knew where everything was and what went with what, and quickly used her enormous forklifts to get things down onto the flatbeds. Rosa and Lashawn pulled down cabinets, the sink, and other items that didnt come off shelves by forklift and dragged them onto the flatbeds. Then Rosa carefully wrote down all the individual pieces and their item numbers and coordinated them with our pre-written lists. At the checkout counter, Rosa made sure I got all the discounts I was entitled to, and we loaded up and left for home. Both these women were friendly and eager to help, so it was great to work with them and I plan to come back to them when I need more supplies. People like these make Home Depot a very woman-friendly place to shop! Thanks, ladies.

When it comes to customer service they are the worst I went to this store to purchase a snow blower machine on the enternet it showed that they had relationship in Stock and then when I went there they made me wait for over a hour telling me they are gonna check to see if they have it and then spent another hour searching for it and after all that they said that they dont know where they put the machine so I left my phone number for them to call me back and they said they are gonna call me back in an hour and its been 5 days now and I never got the call then I called to check again if they have the snow blowing machine and the person who picked up the phone transfered me from line to line trying to if they have the machine for 45 min and after that I had to hang up because I dont have all day for them to tell me if they have the machine this was the worst experience Ive had to deal with like I seriously dont know how they manage their business
