The experience was awful! The guy working there does not care about customer service. I bought a conversion cable from him to transfer data from my hard drive to a new computer. It did not work so I went to the office and asked him to test it on his computer while I am there. It would have taken him 10 seconds to try it. 2 seconds to plug it to the power source, 2 seconds to to connect it to the computer, and may 6 seconds to see if the drive shows up on this computer. He told me that I have to leave and come back later since he has to fix other people computers. It did not occur to him that I may not trust him with all the personal information on my hard drive unless I am there watching what he is doing. I am glad I trusted my gut and did not leave the hard drive. I bought another conversion cable and it worked seamlessly. I was able to get all my personal information. I recommend it if you want to retrieve information from your computer. It is called bipra USB 2.0 TO SATA/IDE ADAPTER WITH POWER ADAPTER. The one he sold me is made by a company named sabrent. For me personally, it is a piece of junk. When I realize he was not going to help me, I asked him for a refund since I believe that something was defective with the product and I am glad I trusted my gut. He said no refund and pointed to a paper on the wall that says no refund. He told me there is no refund for experimenting with the product. Why would I want to experiment with a conversion cable when I could lose all my important files on the hard drive? Moreover, If I wanted to experiment, why would I ask him to test it on his computer? If it worked on his computer, then this meant that the cable he sold me is in good condition. If it did not work, then, it would probably indicate that something may be wrong with my hard drive. Either way, there is no valid reasons for me to ask for a refund. Since he was so rigid, he left me no choice other than asking for a refund since I was convinced that the device he sold me was defective. He did not refund me the money, so I left the cable on his counter. He could easily ship the product back to the manufacturer as a defective product and they would have shipped another one to him free of charge. I lost 20 dollars, but it is ok. He may never see my face again. You were warned! I am not sure if he owns this business, but no business will flourish when there is no customer service. I recommend you find another computer place for your computer need.

I have never felt more emphatic in recommending a service provider than I do Alafia Computers. I drive an hour from Clearwater because no one provides more honest, effective, timely, responsive and affordable service. The first time, half a dozen providers quoted me $250 simply to inspect my broken flash drive, with results not guaranteed and repair times of more than a week. Alafia fixed it the next day and charged only $60. The second time, Best Buy insisted my flash drive was beyond repair, that two nodes had separated, and all my data would be lost. Alafia not only opened it up, made it work again, and copied it to a second drive, but was honest enough to tell me the drive wasnt really broken - only the plastic casing. Despite the time invested and my offer to pay, he didnt charge me a penny. He can fix what cant be fixed, wont tell tall tales, and will surprise you every time with a reasonable, surprisingly low bill. Hes worth the trip and deserves to be your go-to for computer repairs.

In todays world of computers, it is great to have a local computer shop that can provide help when needed. I happen to stumble upon this computer shop and I am so very happy I did. The person that helped me out was named Eric. I was thinking my computer was a total lose, but Eric explained to me that he would look it over for free and call me when he had a chance to look at it. The next day I had a call from him and informed me that my hard drive had crashed. I felt my heart sink, that is until he told me he was able to recover some of my data. Eric breathed new life into my laptop by installing a new solid state hard drive and installing Windows. The price was under what the local big computer stores wanted which was great! So if you are looking for a computer shop with technicians that care, this is definitely the place for you! I will definitely be a repeat customer! Thank you so very much Eric!

My business server with all my customers data crashed on a Friday. I was dead in the water and with the weekend coming up I did not think I could get it repaired. So I made a few calls decided to bring my server to Alafia Computers. I met Eric the owner and he explained my options. Knowing it was a 50/50 chance of getting my data back I left it in his hands. The next day I got the call I was waiting for.... YES! He saved my business!!! He also recommend a back up dive & utility to prevent any future losses. Cost was very reasonable almost half as much compared to the larger places like Best Buy. Thank you Eric for getting my computer back on a Saturday ready for Monday! Your expertise and your quick turnaround time made me a life long customer, I will bring all my PC needs to you in the future.

First, I would like to point out that every one of these reviews are fake. Click on the profile of the reviewer. Google allows you to see how many reviews that a person has left from their account. For every single review, each account has left only one review in the entire history of their account. And that is a great 5 star review for Alafia. Truth is, their location is ghetto. Service is slow. Employee (Eric?) seemed to lack in knowledge and was somewhat rude, and the parts were overpriced. I agree with the statements made in a Yelp review recently left about this company. Any company that requires the need to generate a bunch of fake reviews - on top of being in a ghetto location, being over-priced, and employs people who have little knowledge - is not one that deserves your business.

Eric at Alafia computers is amazing at what he does with computers , Ive been going to his store since 2005. This last time I was in the shop , I asked him to build me a gaming PC and Im not a very patient person unfortunately. He built me a gaming PC in three days, he overnighted all the parts , it would of been built in 2 days, but the power supply did not come when it was supposed too. The PC is amazing and beautiful , it runs everything I play on it smooth and fast. Alafia computers is the only place I go for repairs or builds . Eric is a miracle worker when it comes too PCs. Im a real customer and Im ecstatic about this PC. I will refer anyone that has computer issues to Alafia computers. The place knows what there doing hands down.
